Are you planning a UltraHuman ring review? I would like to see a comparative video between the UltraHuman and Oura rings, and it would be very helpful. Thank you for everything.
Something I would love to see on your testing of sports watches: a bit more data on the GPS accuracy. You mainly test speed of signal acquisition, and how close the GPS tracks to to actual routes you take. For me, those don't worry me unless they're dramatically wrong. What I want accurately measured for my running is the correct distance and the correct elevation change. For example, I have two watches I run with all the time: a Huawei Runner GT, and a Suunto Spartan Sport. The Huawei seems to measure those most accurately; I run parkrun every week, on measured 5K courses, and the Huawei is usually very close to it, and the elevation measured matches up pretty well with other people's stats. By contract, the Suunto is usually slightly low on distance (typically about 2%), but the elevation is terribly wrong, typically by 30 to 70%. I believe it's a software issue rather than hardware, but still, it's so tiring correcting the elevation in Strava every time.
Props to you for talking about the hair loss. I decided to not fight my dna and just let it go. Its nice to hear experiences from those who take the medicines though to make it less scary for others to consider asking their doctor about.
Great testing really useful. My advice on hair loss is to just shave it off !!! 10mm or something. You will feel so much better. Bruce Willis Jason Stalham lead the way 💪👍🙂
It will be great to include more SpO2 tests. There are millions of people with snoring issues or sleep apnea. For EX: Pixel Watch 2 starts to record blood oxygen only when you sleep for >3 hours.
I hope he makes a video on dedicated finger oximeters at som point too! Compared to watches I'm sure there are options which are both accurate and not too expensive. Would be great to have a reccomendation for one that has an app & bluetooth connection.
I sort of agree, but if you have sleep apnea you just need to lose weight quit being so fat. Last time I checked it was like 85% of people who had sleep apnea were obese. I think sleep tracking is one of the most useless things unless you have some kind of mental, psych disorder.
@@greuju It's 70%, not 85%. And if you stop breathing 5+ times/hour when you sleep, you'll probably be tired. News flash - when people are very tired, they eat more and exercise less. For me, it was 50+ times/hour. I lost a lot of weight once it was treated. But I still have sleep apnea, because the structures of the muscles and cranium are major components in sleep apnea severity.
I’m a beach volleyball player and I’m not sure any of the activities you use for testing heart rate are analogous to that kind of activity. Would love to see how these devices perform when playing vb, soccer, or any other sport that involves a lot of arm movements or changes of direction.
Regarding Finasteride please be careful and watch a video about irreversible sexual neurologic symptoms discussed by Peter Attia with Mohit Khera in the podcast from 2h:18min. Video is called "Men’s Sexual Health: why it matters, what can go wrong, and how to fix it"
Thanks for sharing! Yes , this is what I meant by the controversial issues. However, I do think given the number of men taking this, this is a rather rare side-effect and one needs to balance that against whatever psychological effects you personally experience because of hair loss (as “unimportant “ as this might be, it is a reality that effects many men)
I used Finasteride for 10 months and developed severe physiological and neurological side-effects that have not subsided after I have stopped taking the medication 15 months ago. This phenomenon is known as "Post-Finasteride Syndrome" and there is a rising number of men affected by it. Why it might be rare, its effects are devastating for the ones affected. I appreciate that you mention that there is potential for side-effects and that you mention for example the Huberman-podcast about hair loss in which also Post-Finasteride Syndrome is mentioned. However, I am quite disappointed that you use your platform for advertizing Finasteride. I find it odd, that as someone who is usually putting objective data-analysis first, you only speak about your personal experience with these drugs and do not provide any data in regards to the safety of these medications. As someone who is a big fan of your usual content, I wanted to share that with you.
Are you aware that some polysomnography sleep studies are now tracking CO2 via transcutaneous monitoring? Do you know of any consumer device to do this? Do you have an opinion on how useful CO2 tracking is to overall health? Why do you need CO2 if you already have o2
Could b please rank the watches according to thier accuracy. I know apple is on top. But still it would assist a lot of people in buying the right watch other than apple
I got an oura ring 3 on Black Friday to compare against my apple watch but just watching this now 😅 Got an Apple Watch last Black Friday for sleep tracking based on your testing. The sleep data has been fairly different so far. The Apple Watch doesn’t seem to be tracking my deep sleep well. I’m thinking it might not be strapped on tight enough? Either way I was surprised to see the disparity between the two.
Really helpful video. The issue I have is that I somehow cannot justify paying for products with mandatory subscription (Whoop, Oura, 8Sleep), can anyone sell me on those vs. just buying Apple Watch (as it seems it has excellent sleep and HR tracking)?
My issue with the Apple or Samsung Watch is short battery life. I can't always get through the day and night on one charge. If it does, I have to charge in the morning. I'm always choosing what time I don't have it. The fitbit charge stays charged 5 days, but doesn't do everything the Apple or Samsung Watch does. My husband has Apple & I have Samsung plus a fitbit. But my fitbit charge 5 stopped charging after 1 year, and that's ridiculous. Maybe an Oura ring for sleep while my Apple charges at night?
Hey Rob! I've been following you for a few months now and would like to give you a big thumbs up for your videos. I'm currently considering buying the Garmin chest strap (HRM Pro Plus) as I have a Garmin watch and can therefore experience the full scope of features. I would therefore be very happy if you could test the accuracy of the Garmin HRM Pro Plus chest strap. It would also be a good idea to compare it with the H10 from Polar. Since you tested the Withings Sleep Pad in almost 3 years ago March 2021 and it's similar in concept to the Eight Sleep but much more affordable, maybe the Withings warrants a re-test with your current methodology?
Hi Rob. Thanks for the very informative reviews. One aspect that I notice is not always prevalent is the feature of detecting AFIB. What would be the best devices to capture good overall meteics but also has the ability to detect AFIB?
I'd be interested in a comparison of how well different devices track heart rate when just doing daily activities around the house. I was told to keep an eye out for a really high sustained hr when not doing anything strenuous. I have a polar variety, but it's so focused on workouts that it's not ideal for my needs. It's a shame because it seemed to be such a good balance of price, comfort, and accuracy. It's also small and not on my wrist which makes it ideal for doing messy things with my hands.
My Amazfit GTS4 had an update that improved the HR algorithm and in my opinion it improved A LOT. Running and swimming shows results that feel much more accurate, maybe it's worth it to retest it?
Hi Rob, once again a great review, thanks! I've noticed a problem with the Charge 6. Over time, the cover of the sensors becomes cloudy. On two devices, the problem occurred after about two or three weeks. Do you think this affects the quality of the data? I have written to fitbit, but they are only interested in the fact that this is not a reason for a return and I have not received an answer to the actual question despite following up.
Great reviews and awesome scientific tests. I was wondering have you tested some non popular branded watches? In particular I was looking at the Koalahealth Smart watchs. Seems to have more features than the more popular brands. I know some of the health features are not FDA approved, but my main features will be ECG, SPO2 (on demand), heart rate (continuous), Long battery life (there's no time to charge in the morning and evening with sleep feature), Bluetooth calls all a must have features. GPS is a plus. Currently using the Fitbit sense, but no SPO2 when I need it. I have short of breath sometimes, so it's important. Thank you
Dear Rob (@TheQuantifiedScientist): I saw that you have Withings scales in the background. May I ask whether you can recommend the withings body scan scale for segmental body composition measurement since it is quite pricey. Thanks in advance!
Have you ever seen the morpheus m7 chest strap? It looks like an up graded polar h10 but with more app features for training (and more price haha). Id be interested to know what you think
There's been a lot of buzz in the longevity field lately on RUclips and other places. Do you ever see yourself testing products in this field like NAD precursors or other supplements?
I Really appreciate your overall work but you should mention that the Whoop totally messes up the data by registering 80 to 90% HR values when you just walk, thus messing up all the data which become totally unreliable
@@TheQuantifiedScientistIs that something you could test and confirm? Would really appreciate it because I'm hoping to pull the trigger on getting it for Black Friday!

do you know if there is any sleep tracker with an alarm, that does not need to be synchronized to your phone??, more old school tech, but with good results, i just want an simple watch that help me to improve my sleep, i dont need to trak anything else. pd: thanks you for your content, its cool
This is where I’ve gotten quite confused. I have the 8sleep and also use the Apple Watch Ultra and Whoop and sometimes the Muse S headband. (Yes I play around with a lot of devices and data) I don’t know why but I sometimes get a lot of disagreement between the Ultra and the 8Sleep bed. For example, last night my watch saw no deep sleep at all but the 8sleep saw 1 hour and 11 minutes of deep sleep. Whoop seemed way off with 1hr52 minutes and some of that during the second half of the night. Wish I had a Dreem2 that could easily maintain signal locks.
Why are the Garmins so low realitive to Samsung, Huawei and others when it comes to HR tracking? Looking at other reviewers on YT one would assume Garmin is right behind Apple.
@@dangerous8333 sure, garmin is only expert in maps but they add healty metrics in their devices to sell more but the heallty metrics for garmin are inaccurate.
@@alexmqn3496 that's not true. Garmin makes the best sportwatch at the moment. If your interest is to monitor your sport activity they are the best, that's a fact
Eight Sleep recently updated the cover with new sensors as well. I would be curious if they could get you the latest version to test and see how much it has improved over the previous version.
Hair loss doesn't happen linearly I believe so I wouldn't take it as real evidence... Anecdotal at best. Quite surprised that you mention it 😅 I find it hard to believe you didn't look at science?
Thanks for sharing! Yes, of course this is just my experience , but I did look into the science, and these two products were shown to help with hair loss . In addition, I discussed it in detail with a friend who is a dermatologist
If Apple is in all the charts at the top, why wouldn't it be included on the best? I'm even considering buying an iPhone only to be able to use an Apple Watch
Why are you not studying other wearable rings ? All I see is Oura Rings ! ARE YOU A SPONSER ? Starting to loose my faith in your analysis of wearables. Kindly show Ultrahuman Air Ring. Many of us refuse to use subscription wearables like the Oura Rings and Whoop Strap. NO THANKS.
Garmin Vivoactive 5 for JUST $249 is an INSANE Black Friday deal (Amazon/Best Buy in the US) I just bought 2 of them for that price...As I write this the Vivoactive 5' has only been out for 9 weeks.
It would be interesting to see other cooking and heating bed options other than eight sleep. Not all do tracking, but they do heating and cooling without the subscription and price.
Thanks! This has been on my mind too. I still need to see which ones are available over here in Europe as well. I saw that Shervin from Shervin Shares already had some other devices that seemed cool (pun intended)
i noticed that every time i wore a watch to bed to monitor my quality of sleep, i slept badly, so i stopped wearing the watch and there was an improvement.
This is one reason why I haven't pulled the trigger i already have sleep issues and I am a petite woman, so most of these are way too big. I fear that I won't be able to sleep with it. Ugh.

do you know if there is any sleep tracker with an alarm, that does not need to be synchronized to your phone??, more old school tech, but with good results, i just want an simple watch that help me to improve my sleep, i dont need to trak anything else. pd: thanks you for your content, its cool
Hi how much would you sell your forerunner 965 ?
Hey M8. Do you gonna make any test of amazfit balance soon?
when video on budget $69 NOTHING (CMF) watch coming ?
Why are the Garmins so low realitive to Samsung, Huawei and others when it comes to HR tracking? Looking at other reviewers on YT one would assume Garmin is right behind Apple.
Because most reviewers don’t know what they’re talking about.
They’re just glorified video editors.
Ultrahuman ring air pls
Please test the Xiaomi Band 8 Pro, or 7 Pro ! :( I only trust you! haha
Eight Sleep recently updated the cover with new sensors as well. I would be curious if they could get you the latest version to test and see how much it has improved over the previous version.
More spO2 testing please
Hair loss doesn't happen linearly I believe so I wouldn't take it as real evidence... Anecdotal at best. Quite surprised that you mention it 😅 I find it hard to believe you didn't look at science?
Thanks for sharing! Yes, of course this is just my experience , but I did look into the science, and these two products were shown to help with hair loss . In addition, I discussed it in detail with a friend who is a dermatologist
redmi watch 3 please
Can't make any promises, but I'll keep it in mind!
Thanks a lot 😁😁@@TheQuantifiedScientist
If Apple is in all the charts at the top, why wouldn't it be included on the best? I'm even considering buying an iPhone only to be able to use an Apple Watch
From what I hear is the crappie battery life is most people's complaint or being an Android user.
He looks like young Heizenberg
Why don't u review Suunto or Coros devices 😅
I did review COROS over the last months 😊. Unfortunately Suunto said they would lend me devices, but don’t reply to my messages any more
@@TheQuantifiedScientist many thanks, sir. Hope your next review about Apex 2 pro 😁
Waiting for ring ultrahuman review.
Vivo watch 3 please.
Love ur content bada bidu😅
Please, make review for Garmin FR 265
Come on, its the as the 965 test he already did. Same sensor and same algorithm so no difference at all.
Hi! Sorry, just haven't had the time, maybe I can add it at some point :-).
What about testing ultrahuman ring?
ringconn for me, oura are sueing ultrahuman, could go out of business
@@MAGAted and ringconn doesn't have a subscription, right? Big bonus in my book.
do you drink coffee? 😊
Why are you not studying other wearable rings ? All I see is Oura Rings ! ARE YOU A SPONSER ?
Starting to loose my faith in your analysis of wearables. Kindly show Ultrahuman Air Ring. Many
of us refuse to use subscription wearables like the Oura Rings and Whoop Strap. NO THANKS.
I’d still like you without hair :)
guy doesnt even look like he works out. sus opinions tbh
Thanks for the mention! Great video.
Wow, so cool when someone you watch actually sees your video :-)! I'd love it if your affordable oral Finasteride became available in Europe😊!
Thanks Rob and Happy Holidays! We all really appreciate you.
Thanks so much!
Thanks for the work ! any plans to review other rings like the Ultrahuman ring air ?
Garmin Vivoactive 5 for JUST $249 is an INSANE Black Friday deal (Amazon/Best Buy in the US)
I just bought 2 of them for that price...As I write this the Vivoactive 5' has only been out for 9 weeks.
Wow, that's an amazing deal!
It would be interesting to see other cooking and heating bed options other than eight sleep. Not all do tracking, but they do heating and cooling without the subscription and price.
Do you know other interesting devices?
Thanks! This has been on my mind too. I still need to see which ones are available over here in Europe as well. I saw that Shervin from Shervin Shares already had some other devices that seemed cool (pun intended)
@@TheQuantifiedScientist I know there's the Chilipad by Sleepme. I've been looking at that one.
i noticed that every time i wore a watch to bed to monitor my quality of sleep, i slept badly, so i stopped wearing the watch and there was an improvement.
Me too
This is one reason why I haven't pulled the trigger i already have sleep issues and I am a petite woman, so most of these are way too big. I fear that I won't be able to sleep with it. Ugh.
@@AndreaCrisp can we have sleep tracker earplugs? is that a thing yet? at least I can sleep wearing them
00:58 🔥 Eight Sleep Pod 3 is a top pick for sleep quality improvement, offering independent temperature control and precise sleep stage tracking.
05:52 🌟 Aura Ring 3 stands out as a comprehensive sleep tracker with high accuracy in deep sleep detection, though slightly less accurate in REM sleep.
10:46 ⌚ Whoop Strap 4.0 serves as a versatile fitness tracker with decent heart rate accuracy, suitable for various exercises, but doesn't excel in any specific area.
17:57 🛌 Whoop Strap's sleep tracking is good enough for overall sleep stage estimation, but it might overestimate deep sleep and underestimate awake time for some users.
19:04 🏃♂ Whoop Strap is recommended as a top choice for health and sports tracking due to its interpretable data.
19:18 🫀 For precise heart rate tracking, using an ECG chest strap like the Polar H10 is suggested, known for its accuracy in identifying heartbeats.
20:15 📊 Signal quality comparisons between Polar H10 and halter ECG showcase Polar H10's superiority during intense exercises like jogging and strength training, maintaining a significantly higher accuracy.
21:49 🩺 When selecting an ECG monitor, opting for a reputable brand that functions independently, like the Polar H10, is beneficial.
22:18 🚴♂ Indoor cycling significantly aided in managing chronic pain, with the Tacx Neo2 highlighted as a reliable option. Standing desks and treadmills under desks are also suggested for a more active work environment.
23:31 🏋♂ Having weights at home streamlined workouts and saved time compared to gym visits, emphasizing the convenience of home fitness equipment.
23:46 💊 Recommendations for health supplements like Ule, ag1, and protein powder are shared, emphasizing personal use and not being sponsored.
24:15 💊🦱 The presenter candidly discusses using medications for hair loss prevention, stressing the importance of consulting a doctor due to potential side effects.
Thank you so much 🙏

@@maxwellerickson7066 You know, I have noticed the same thing the other day. If the comment is as written by a cretin, it must be human. And if it makes sense, and it's articulate and wordy, it must be A.I., as the humans smarter than a McDonald's Big Mac usually hang around elsewhere.
4:38 Thanks for providing more data on some of the previously-tested devices, in particular the Pixel Watch 2! It's a pity that even the best-performing Android smartwatch is still so far off from the Apple watches, but good to know nonetheless. The phenomenal result of the preliminary 1 day's worth of data was unfortunately too good to be true.
Yes, and more data to come!
having the latest updates to the HR and sleep tracking graphs pinned would be useful@@TheQuantifiedScientist
Kinda crazy how accurate the Apple Watch is. I sold mine because I couldn't deal with the battery life but imagine they made a fitness tracker with long battery, it would crush the competition.
totally agree. I love my Apple Watch but can't stand charging it twice a day. What brand have you swapped to if you have?
Too right! It is ridiculously accurate. They need to add 24/7 hr readings like whoop and it would be no contest
I love my apple watch, but I had to give it up once I switched to Android as I can't stand iOS anymore, I wish apple would make it work on android.
You can change/disable a lot of settings, making it last significantly longer
Does your dreem 2 headband still work? Mine doesn’t work since they were taken over in September.
Nope it doesn’t… there is a whole discord server of people complaining, and Beacon just ignores consumers unfortunately
Amazing video as always, I wanted to ask you when did you perform the sleep tests for the Oura Ring using all 3 devices.
Could you give an sleep tracking update on the Pixel watch 2 since you only used data from one night in your review?
There is already some data in this video😊, but more to come
Great video! Love to see your emphasis on testing accuracy of these various devices. With the demise of the Dreem 2 headband, have you considered testing the Muse headband?
It would be great if you did fitness band reviews. Screenless. I love wearing analog watches and want to wear something to track steps and some fitness info
I love your videos. On point as always!
Have you looked into the Oura's stress tracking? Very curious how effective and accurate it truly is.
hey man I was just thinking to myself that I hadnt seen one of your videos in quite awhile. so I looked you up and none of your videos showed up in the list? I had to use another device to send my phone a link that wasnt logged into my youtube to be able to find you. youtube had also unsubscribed me from your channel. how bizarre? I subscribed again though dont worry and glad to see you are still doing this.
Can Polar H10 connect to Garmin Instinct 2 to display HR?
