I turned dirt into a clay sculpture. This dirt is stolen British land from Colin Furze's famous tunnels! Can I fire it into a ceramic sculpture without it crumbling or melting? I want to sculpt the most British thing possible from my British land so I after I processed the wild clay and made a King's Guard figure (Little Ben!) I also make a teacup... made of British soil! But it's quite the struggle so I have to do a resin pour to make my dream come true of escaping to foreign soil -- embedded in a stool! -- for the most British cup of tea ever.

I'm a Brit and I have to tell you, that this is the single most impressive thing I have ever seen anyone do with dirt, and British dirt at that! You are so talented! You never gave up, even after the cup fell apart you still went through with it and put Little Ben in the kiln! You are an absolute legend! Putting him and the stones into a cute diorama under a clear cover was great fun and it came out perfectly. He will be a talking point for visitors for years to come. I absolutely love him, he's perfect! Thank you for this video, it made my day. Now I'm off to make myself a nice cuppa tea! Have a great weekend!

We confirm : it's absolutely not food safe.
Did you see the brand I used? Check the specs on ArtResin. Foods safe! (And I used cold tea so the heat wouldn't be a problem) Worry not, Pal-ys!

There is a relaxed vibe to this video that was definitely starting to lack in the 1 episode videos. The stress from those videos was palpable, and actually stressed ME out slightly. I absolutely endorse the multi episode format. 😁
Agreed! I've had to actually turn off past videos because of the stress and physical strain she puts on herself sometimes so this is soooo much better
I prefer the multiple episode format, to be honest! Don't know if The Algorithm sees it differently, but if my opinion counts it's a plus!

I lived in a town called Peru Illinois. there was a clock factory called Westclox. the building was called "Big Ben" and yes, they had a Big Ben Clock, and a Little Ben clock. they closed down in the 80's. They lost some of factory due to a fire but the main building "Big Ben" is still there. it is currently a pizza/bar.
I'm loving the multiple episodes, I really enjoy seeing all the nitty gritty of what you've done to accomplish the art. Thank you so much for being such a creative creator!

Kinda wishing you had painted the top of the stool to look like that clock Evan & Katelyn made (ocean islands), so that Little Ben could be guarding a little Falkland island. And maybe add a little moss to the top of the rocks.

From the looks of things on Little Ben it seems that there were some type of possibly sand that had a low enough melting point that melted out and left a bunch of micro open voids in the surface of the clay.
Now all the British Vampires are going to be wishing for an invitation to tea.

I think the intentional use of the heat gun and lighter did more for curing the resin than the ambient temperature of the room. 😅😂

Oh Ali, I am so happy this worked, but I am also so scared that you are going to one day sit on the stool and it's going to slide off and crush the little guy. Is there anyway you can get a band of metal around the edge where the wood meets the plastic to keep them from sliding off each other in the event of the glue breaking?

Such a great concept! I am glad that you were able to find a ceramics place that was willing to take on the firing process, but slightly saddened that it meant that you didn't have an excuse to make/procure your own kiln.

My theory with the clay is that maybe the air wasn't fully removed, so little Ben is textured because of those air bubbles, and the teacup was so thin and smol that there wasn't enough solid structure to keep it whole
