    Amazing way to add fullness to the blouse without the top looking oversized!!! Very, very ingenious! The plaid fabric is lined up along the front placket very nicely. The back has the dominant strip 😊😊exactly in the middle of the back! Nice work!

    I love this pattern and have made it 3 times. I was drawn to it because of the dart features. It’s a fairly easy pattern. The darts take time to make but other than that it’s a simple pattern. On my third blouse I used a 2.0 twin needle to make the darts by making sure the bobbin thread was a little tighter than the top thread causing the top fabric to raise up ever so slightly. All I had to do is mark a straight line for the dart and sew in that line.

    • @debbiestuttgen1825
      @debbiestuttgen1825 Год назад

      Yup, the double needle is the way I have always thought of pin tucks. I was a little confused by this other way.

    Might want to use a waist or fanny pack for your cord? (Avoiding a sore shoulder from constantly carrying heavy bags on it has become an issue for me.) Bummer 😵‍💫about the tape debacle! I feel your pain. It’s like when you get a paintbrush hair in your fresh paint & try to remove it. Never works.🥴
    Really cute shirt! I typically prefer longer sleeves since I’m usually cold. If I’m doing something messy, I’ll roll them up. I like the convenience of three quarters sleeves in the fall or spring though. Looking forward to watching the pants project, though the shirt looks great with jeans. 😊

    Love your shirt but how do you decide which patterns need a full bust adjustment and which ones do not thank you.

    • @mybucoliclife
      @mybucoliclife  Год назад

      Hello, I look at the amount of ease that is built into the pattern. Some patterns come with enough ease that I really don't need to do a full bust adjustment. This one was actually fairly fitted, and just to be sure that I did not have any strained buttonholes I figured it was safer to add a little bit. But it really depends on the design of the pattern. Look at the actual bus to measurement on the pattern tissue and compare it to your actual best measurement to see how much extra they're working in.

    • @michelleblount1336

      Thank you for taking the time to explain, this will help me so much.

    Can I use this same collar method for a men's ribbon shirt ? That would be an excellent video if you can do it ! There aren't any goof videos of how to make a men's ribbon shirt online - but like a nice one with a collar, cuffs, gathers on the back and front and a split hem at the bottom. I'm trying to make one myself but you're much better at sewing and recording videos!!

    • @mybucoliclife
      @mybucoliclife  Год назад

      Most of the pictures of ribbon shirts that I see look like basic men's dress shirts of course with the ribbon embellishment. I'm actually working on a men's shirt for next week's video that has gathers to a yolk in the front and back more of an old west type shirt. But I don't know that that's what you're looking for. But yes if you find a man shirt collar in a pattern that is a similar cut this is definitely a usable style.

    • @mgansworth78
      @mgansworth78 Год назад

      @My Bucolic Life Yep that's usually the basic style of the men's ribbon shirts but some are made with more work than others. You can make a very simple pattern but I want the yokes and gathers. I will watch your next video when it comes out I'm sure it will be helpful!

    I left my accountants office, after dressing smart in my me-makes, to find my zipper was down the entire time. Luckily, my top was longish and, since they were me-made, my pants fit really well and didn’t seem to gape. I noticed while sitting in the drivers seat backing out of the lot. The fly was peeking out from the hem of my blouse. 😂😭🤣
