Guys, just stop complaining or finding "Mistakes" of this movie , its "2020" now and this is made like 40 years ago.
And it's a TV series, which meant lower standards than a movie about it would be.
Its a37 year old show but its still great i dont care for goofs or bad special effects its a fun show Thats all i care about fun fun fun
I enjoy it, not because it's bad but because it's fun to point out.
To be fair, Star Trek was made over fifty years ago and spawned a ‘Nitpickers guide’ of books. Just go with it. The nitpicks are interesting and fun as long as you don’t dwell on them
No one is complaining.

He had to activate the deflector shield so the truck would be forced to swerve rather than drive right into KITT ;)
KITT can not harm humans, Michael had to override the CPU, that took more then just one button

The 1980's called and wanted to tell you, this is how it's done and you've got a ways to go.
How much more? Waymo than the Alphabet has letters.
Maybe the Foundation can show you how to do it right, and to not only say "don't be evil", but to actually be good.

I love when Michael and K.I.T.T. brought the sheriff's department to close in on Riggins. I think Riggins knew it was over when he tried to make a break for it.

I don't think that's it, because he's also done it in other episodes too.

Random button presses to eventually just press Turbo Boost, which requires only one button.
Random button presses to hit Pursuit, which only requires one button.
I reckon it's just done for effect, to add to the drama.
@@Longlostpuss Well, considering just grabbing the handbrake would have gotten his end result, there wouldn't have been any reason to do anything else, but considering he was suddenly going to block the road of a heavy truck, with a high possibility that truck was going to plow right into them. It makes more sense that he was preparing Kitt for impact.
Because you right, pushing a lot of random buttons just to do a handbrake turn doesn't make sense, but possibly preparing Kitt for impact does.
@@VRIceblast okay, so how exactly does pushing a load of random buttons prepare K.I.T.T. anymore for impact? Baring in mind that he has a molecular bonded shell permanently on him, what exactly is Michael activating?
Also, what about the numerous other episodes where he positions K.I.T.T. for cars to hit him without pushing any buttons at all?
@@Longlostpuss No idea, big heavy truck, moving fast, plowing directly into the side of him, VS. a light car, not plowing into the side of him fast.
Still makes more sense, than him pushing all those button just to do a handbrake turn.

I've always wondered where he sleeps at night. Or if he gets paid to do all this do-gooder work.
There's been plenty of moments in the show where we've seen Michael eating, reading, playing video games, watching TV and even sleeping in the car while KITT is on autopilot so the usual road fatigue doesn't seem to be an issue plus who says Michael doesn't have a duffel in the trunk for long missions. I mean he does change clothes in some of the episodes

Probably not. In season 3 where KARR returns, KARR turbo boosted through the back of the mobile HQ that is towed behind the semi. Also earlier in Knight Moves(a bit before this video starts), Devon says that the semi and mobile HQ is worth more than the king's ransom and since he said that, the truck probably does not have the molecular bonded shell.

That trusty 305 engine!!!! They could have least dropped in a badass 427
A 427 wouldn't have been emissions legal, would have put out barely enough horsepower to move the car forward. Basically you'd be putting an overweight, underpowered iron slug under the engine bay. The 305 would have run circles around it. This is the malaise era. GMs most powerful engine was a 5.7L V8 putting out 195 hp in the outgoing C3 Corvette in 1982.
Most of the cars had the 305's swapped for 350's
@@houseofno those cars weren't street legal anyways. For example, the stunt car they used in the scene I think was titled as salvage due to it being in a train derailment.

4:21 you can see the camera lodged on the passenger's side of the car ready for the action shot.
Oddly though, when K.I.T.T actually turbo boosts through the back of the van, it disappears, so I'm guessing they used a cleaner shot of the leap with no collision (4:24), so that you could actually see it, rather than seeing the camera probably break off in the earlier footage.
This show is unreal when it comes to production mistakes like that. Either they didn't care, thought people wouldn't see it on a small TV screen, or just didn't have time to re-do it. There's a glaring one where he's driving on the right side of the car, shot from INSIDE the car!

Limitations of effects and budget at the time. What would have been better would have been the truck ramming KITT, KITT is undamaged, truck is smashed up. Not a problem with modern CGI, but that was still far in the future when this was made.
My Eclipse GSX had turbo boost, but it only went faster and didn't jump.
Maybe you didn't randomly jab at various buttons enough

Wow didn't really know until now that the driver of the FLAG truck is a hot chick. I've been a fan of the TV series back in the early 80s but looks like I missed this episode so I was wondering all along who drove that truck.
She was driving the semi only in one episode and wasn't even working for FLAG. In the last season RC III was the driver of the semi.
I vaguely recall hearing something about the semi-truck being automated.

Kittt is programed to protect. He had to override kitt to make that crah happen. Kitt cannot do that on his own. Preservation of life is his main programming

Aside from the hijackings, I think Riggins will also be charged with assault, because 1 of the hijackings resulted in a trucker getting injured.
I'm pretty sure that if the driver of that semi had been thinking, he would have rammed the car rather than going off the road. Michael sure plays chicken a lot.

KITT's body is made from an indestructible material, the truck would have been destroyed if it struck KITT.
Why didn't they show that in the episode instead of having the truck crash itself? I'm guessing the show couldn't properly show a rig destroying itself hitting a Trans Am. Keep in mind that this is the 1980s.

Most criminals are cowards in nature, and they were probably terrified when KITT suddenly stopped in middle of the road, after all the car proved to be immune to bullets & more than likely thought the truck would be severely damaged & killing them in the process. They definitely would’ve been ejected through the windshield upon impact too and that would’ve been very messy…
