Some years ago in the spanish Civil Guard we begun to recieve uniforms without any kind of FR treatment. Today all the clothes are FR and the shirts are soo different. All of them are made by El Corte Inglés, that ovbiusly tries to learn about brands like UF PRO🤷🏼‍♂️. In my unit becomes to be urgent to have a tactical/campaign uniform with these specifications like the Striker.

EOD use Nomex and well worth the money .

Most of the veteran EOD here in Spain with a lot of real experience don't like to use gloves. Nomex or some Mechanix variants maybe are a good choice but when you need to have a good feel in the hands...

If it was a choice to be on fire in cotton vs being on fire in melted plastic the obvious choice is the cotton. I would rather not be on fire to be sure, but having molten plastic sticking to my skin is worse.

    Word of of advice:
Don't sit too close to a heat lamp, with your plate carrier vest.
My vest has some nice holes now and the zippers are melted shut.
As I sat there, I did wonder over the weird burnt smell though. 😅

Is a no melt no drip base lay ok under FR or dose it all need to be FR.
I would of thought the outer shell would snuff out the base layer?
