As a PoP Trilogy fan, sad to see the downfall of Ubisoft; even though they took loyal, real gamers for granted. Fans who catapulted Ubi into Fortune 500 were abandoned. I recently made a John Wick style action montage using SC Blacklist stylish takedowns. Looks badass with music I chose. If only we got a proper JW game that way, Ubisoft could license. They had all the right tools already from SC and Watch Dogs. Too late now...

Ubisoft just spent the last decade burning bridges. They kind of deserve this, honestly. After how they treated PC users by incorporating their crappy DRM/launcher, infested single player experiences with microtransactions, pulled out of Steam/refused to launch on Steam, and the utter disdain they showcased by suggesting users get used to not owning their games... yeah. Sorry. I'm out on all that is ubisoft. Honestly, the only Ubi game I've played since FC5 is PoP TLC, and that's only because I borrowed it at the library for the Switch. Despite the game being decent, I'd like to see them absolutely humbled. They need a severe dose of reality kicking them in the nuts, because they've gotten away with a lot of gross bs for waaaaay too long.

With emulation, you can go beyond just better framerates-it's about transforming your games entirely. From removing fog to replacing outdated textures with 4K versions, you can essentially remaster older titles. The power of emulation also lies in the freedom it offers; you're playing and enhancing the games you already own, rather than renting them from massive companies. Once you've set everything up, it becomes a near plug-and-play experience, making it hard to find a reason not to use an emulator.

It is extremely hard to emulate ps4 and xbox one games, they are too demanding. NS on the other hand is the current focus of nintendo and since it has low hardware requirements, it is easier to emulate. The problem with the NS emulator is that it came out too early during the current lifespan of the console.
If they released the emulator AFTER the console was deemed obsolete by nintendo, now i think nintendo wouldnt have mind it. And like you said, if the emulation experience is better than what you get from the console, it means you already made obsolete their hardware.

I own a Switch, I own a copy of BOTW, but I play it with an emulator because I'm disabled and there are mods that allow me to enjoy the game much more than I would otherwise. Nintendo's attacks on emulation this year have left me with a really bad taste in my mouth, so I don't think I'll be bothering with their future games or the Switch's successor. Ubisoft games have become exhausting. They cram so much stuff into their games they ruin the overall experience. Their game design philosophy is the problem, huge maps crammed to the brim with copy and paste quests. I would love to see a high fidelity cinematic remake of AC1 with a focus on engaging gameplay and enemy AI. A modestly sized curated sandbox with intelligent game design, something more akin to Hitman's design. I want a GPU melting single player Splinter Cell game with a focus on realism. They want movies, TV shows, Toys etc. It's capitalism at work, where games are not about games anymore. Ideas like that create more problems because they are no longer thinking about the project in development but how it will impact this or that medium. The average gamer was already looking forward to AC shadows, sometimes we forget that twitter isn't as real place and these corporations that now own the gaming studios also forget that quite often. Man! These topic hit the mark. I fell in love with Ubisoft for AC and was a hardcore fan. Now I think about it and makes me sad how the corporate greed has change there focus so much from the passion they had.
The Nintendo Emulator debacle is very cool the you brought it up. The whole console thing and how people don’t like it it really does makes sense. Without knowing I kinda nodded and agreed to it

I can relate to your points on hardware. Nintendo makes good games but are really held back by their own hardware, so when I have the opportunity to play their games at a higher performance level, I definitely will try to.
As for phones, I think phones have really plateaued in hardware a few years back and are indeed just hitting the AI market as a way to sell. I would love more improvements to software, as I believe it makes for a great user experience, but not in the way of the AI route that companies are currently taking. I want to see things such as better efficiency, a cohesive user interface, customizability _(power to the user)_ , etc.

A friendly reminder in an interview with ubi devs: ubisoft, both devs and excecutives, know about the major backlash, critique, and annoyiance they received for every game, and every player feedback has been intentionaly ignored. So if you ask they why they havent changed business models into something more consumer friendly is because they dont care about you as player nor consumer. Also, when the CEO blamed players for being too demanding on quality, they instantlly called us out for not giving them money, like if we are enforced to buy their games regardless of genre, quality or price.

If anyone ever needs a clear example of why you shouldn't praise a company no matter how much they pretend to care about their fans, look no further than Nintendo.
They want to control what, how and when you play the games you love and they're not shy about stomping on your sandcastle because they DO NOT CARE how you feel or what you like.
They kinda did in the 90s and early 2000s but you made them so powerful that they realized they can do or say w/e they want and you'll still line up at the door to get on your knees and open your....wallet.
Remember when Donald Trump said. "I could walk down the street and shoot a stranger and not lose a single voter.".
Yeah, same thing here. They could charge $150 for their next game and $800 for the Switch II and not be worried about a bad quarter.

Ubisoft devs have come forward saying that the higher management knows exactly what they’re doing “culturally” and they won’t be changing that. What they will do is try hiding it better.
The irony of that is exactly the problem. They slap you in the face with their real world ideological sermon instead of being subtle.

It hurts just to see that the first ever AC game set in Japan is gonna star a black guy, not a Japanese man, or a Japanese woman. A one-off black guy that was a footnote in history. The only reason he was even recorded being that Nobu naga took an interests because he was exotic. Good job devs way to fk it up perfectly.

I'm a PC gamer. Basically the only 2 switch-only games I want to play are the new Zelda games. I am not buying a switch for 2 games and there's no other way to buy and play them...I'd happily give 60-ish bucks for a legal port sold by Nintendo or buy a console that lets me play my steam library as well as the Nintendo games. But neither is an option.

What people are not realizing.. Gamepass, Ps Plus along with 70$ tag is killing the companies that arent at thier best.
Square enix and Ubisoft both release unpolished 70$ games which are soon thrown to ps plus and gamepass. This creates a huge phsycology that thier games will soon be out on subscription anyway.
Plus because of subscription services people often have 100s of back catalog always ready. And asking 70$ when people have so many options for a generic unpomished game wont be fulfilled.
The way price hike and subscription service have shape up things it is clear that only best developer will sustain. And a lot of studios will shut down.
This happened in movie industry and now in gaming.
