They are videos on youtube about how to do it. You will play exactly as you played on ps2 in the golden days. Wealth beyond measure!
A large portion of the audience cares about split screen. That’s why the added it in. It was a huge integral part of the original games and what made the fans love the series. Nothing like having all your boys come over and then passing controllers until the goat got the controller.
yeah but if you pay attention, the older games with spilt screen scaled back on destruction cause the tech couldn’t handle it. they are using the PS5 to make it feel like you’re in the anime. either they compromise and take back the effects or give us stages that can handle it. i think it better if they add more stages that can handle it in future updates
@@iknowcharley5 the old games are literally the same in split screen mode as they are in single player matches. Also, that has nothing to do with my comment. @@codethetoad4327 you don’t know what you talking about man. you could argue yeah it’s the same because of the technical limitations of the ps2 because they didn’t make it to show off destruction but with the Raging Blast series, games that was on newer gen, it couldn’t handle split screen destruction so they removed it altogether to scale it down for local play. Sparking Zero is going for lots of effects, stage destruction and weather change but that isn’t possible with the PS5 maybe with the PS6
@5:27 you can change the accessory/costume of characters like Tien and Yamcha to their OG Dragonball outfits. Master Roshi even has the Jackie Chun outfit
If you look into the competitive scene it actually is very deep, of course you don't need to acknowledge any of the advanced mechanics to enjoy the games
The reason the split screen is only in the room of spirit and time is cause before they announced the split screen. There wasn't split screen at all. And due to it being on unreal engine 5, 4k 60fps, all the raytracing, particle effects destructive environments. Would break the games stability when in split screen. Cause split screen games technically run/display the game twice
They initially weren’t gonna have it at all because Xbox current gen apparently has issues running split-screen so I’d imagine that would be exacerbated with destructible environments

One thing to mention about #7 is the points you use for counter/perception is also used for transformations, Fusion and some abilities so you need to assess when is the best time to use them or save them to power up
Tenkaichi 2 was great. In the story mode, you flew around the planet to find fights and dragon balls. There were hidden fights to unlock new story lines and characters. I hated they took that out of Tenkaichi 3.
@@ronnypatterson999 they were the types who were against the idea of magic at the time, but I think in hindsight it was more that they were annoyed of the theme song.
Only A small portion of the audience likes split screen ? They wouldn’t have gotten so much backlash if only a small portion of us thought so. Split screen is much wanted and appreciated in every game.
6:26 I feel like it’s limited because when running local multiplayer(split screen) the game would have to render everything that’s happening on the map twice so on less powerful consoles *cough cough series s cough cough * they would probably struggle to render that level of destruction twice.
Even ignoring the series s, more than doubling the load on 90% of machines running the game is quite a big ask, especially with all the effects, details, destruction and all the background processes. The fact split-screen is in at all is amazing, considering it wasn't planned from the start.
They didn’t have to limit the split-screen for other consoles. That was a copout for them not to take more time making it work better. There are plenty of other games that limit certain graphical enhancements on the Series S because of it. GTAO does this specifically for the Series S, and the X has (albeit one) more graphics feature. I mean; I get it was last minute but c’mon lol.
@@trentmurphy1705 yeah but in older games the destruction was way less intricate. They have limited graphical enhancements by only allowing you to play in a stage that isn’t graphically taxing. It’s wild that people are complaining about a mode that they most likely won’t even play lol that’s the real reason they didn’t put more thought into the mode. It’ll literally be the least played mode in the game

I still have fond memories staying at a friends house and we'd all play BT3 from sunrise to sundown.
Insanely hyped for this even if the split screen is limited, which now most of my friends have PC's so we can just link up online.
Can't wait!
It was so nice to finally see some recognition for SparkingZero! I am beyond hyped to play this game. I'm planning to buy it for the workplace PS5.

Right off the top, thank you for including gameplay of BT3. It looked a lot better in my memories. Even more hyped for SZ’s improved graphics now.
*Ohhh* BT and B weren’t related? That makes so much sense honestly. I always wondered why the gameplay made such a hard switch.
Were they still making Budakai games when BT was coming out for America? Because it there are B games I’ve missed… damn.
I wonder what all the DLC will be. I know Super and Daima, but maybe we’ll get some OG Dragon Ball characters too.
Ooh, HTC only for split screen? Definitely hope that gets updated.
Been waiting for this game for 16+ years
I'm so glad it's finally happening🔥
Hey Jake you probably know this but there is an easy 1 minute method to erasing the lines blurring the image in the emulator. I think this is checking 1 or 2 buttons in the config.
He said a small portion of the fanbase wanted split screen. Nah, man. The entire fanbase of the old games expected it because it’s a core feature and intrinsically part of what made “Tenkaichi” a household name.
@@iknowcharley5 you don’t know what you’re talking about because raging blast we’re not Tenkaichi games.
@@codethetoad4327 you’re missing the entire point of my comment. God bless you
@5:27 you can change the accessory/costume of characters like Tien and Yamcha to their OG Dragonball outfits. Master Roshi even has the Jackie Chun outfit
Can't wait for this, BT2 was by far my fav as a kid. I could never get used to the control changes they made between 2 and 3, I always went back to 2.
Saved up 2 full work weeks of vacation all year for this game. I will not rest.
Im gonna be playing this like crazy, already pre order the deluxe version
If you look into the competitive scene it actually is very deep, of course you don't need to acknowledge any of the advanced mechanics to enjoy the games
The reason the split screen is only in the room of spirit and time is cause before they announced the split screen. There wasn't split screen at all. And due to it being on unreal engine 5, 4k 60fps, all the raytracing, particle effects destructive environments. Would break the games stability when in split screen. Cause split screen games technically run/display the game twice
idk about you guys but I'm actively playing and its been an awesome experience !
This looks like a ton of fun. I think I'll pick it up. Thanks for the deep dive.
I haven't been excited for a Dragon Ball game since Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

For someone who grew up watching the shows, movies, and playing the old games. This will be an absolute must for me.
This is the game of all games for me im so glad Jake is covering it
Listen to what you know instead of what you fear.
The what ifs and alternative scenarios are all amazing from what I’ve played so far the games been phenomenal imo 🙏🏼

Only A small portion of the audience likes split screen ? They wouldn’t have gotten so much backlash if only a small portion of us thought so. Split screen is much wanted and appreciated in every game.
Splitscreen made the ps2 games, I remeber playing with friends after school for hours
I hare this game cuz of splitscreen. Who the fuck wants to play it like that. Weird
3:50 Guys don’t shoot, this man is not Black!
6:26 I feel like it’s limited because when running local multiplayer(split screen) the game would have to render everything that’s happening on the map twice so on less powerful consoles *cough cough series s cough cough * they would probably struggle to render that level of destruction twice.
Exactly right yes. Too much physx to be multiplied by 2 for one console
Even ignoring the series s, more than doubling the load on 90% of machines running the game is quite a big ask, especially with all the effects, details, destruction and all the background processes. The fact split-screen is in at all is amazing, considering it wasn't planned from the start.
Exactly. It’s a technical limitation because of how ambitious the game is with the destruction effects
I'm gonna buy this on disc purely to experience the thill of going to the store after school(work) to get the new DBZ game and inserting the disc for the first time. Also really excited for the title intro!!!
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 on the Wii specifically has many fond memories for me as a kid. You cannot comprehend a sleepover with 6 10 year olds doing a hot seat 3v3 team battle and having to physically do the motions to do specials and clashes. We were jumping off the bed doing spirit bombs screaming at the top of our lungs at 11 pm.
I bought the Ultimate edition, no brainer
Probably the best dragon Ball game ever.
I can understand why they limited split screen to the time chamber. All the flashing lights and debris would make it difficult to see anything, almost unplayable.
