This is a nice video really nailing why CSM works for me. It does subvert expectations a lot. I've watched many reactions of Denji's quest to touch a boob and the eyerolls that ensued. And then they did what they did and then there was a further explanation of why physical contact alone doesn't fulfill that urge. Makima did an excellent job teaching him this. It was so easy to root for Denji from the get go. He was at the literal bottom of a dumpster. No where to go but up. He gets toast with stuff. Now he can have a chance of touching a boob, then he can have opportunities to get a french kiss, then sex, then a life... Who doesn't want something as simple as that. They litterally had a battle to see if Denji's trashy dream was stronger than the leech and bat devil's dreams. Also, Denji isn't a fiend. He's a special case of a devil but human as well. Fiends have physical characteristics all the time that make them stand out as fiend. And yeah there is a devil in there, but it's the only one.
katana man and denji are hybrids not fiends. it seems like a small detail but is actually really important cause fiends altho they are semi-immortal can die when for example decapitated and hybrids like katana man, denji, reze or quanxi are practically immortal with some exceptions. also obviously hybrids keep mind of thier host, are way more powerful then normal fiends and can be made from just some devils.
chainsaw man's creator was named a psycho creator or a mental illness xD his creations are full of chaos and despair. he gives the audience a hope and crushes it xD. i watched over the makima era and BRUH its more hopeless xD
