I bought a lot of glutinous rice flour a while ago, but I later realized that I don't know what to make with it except for mochi 😅 Since I love peanuts and sesame, I can't wait to try these.
Oh my! This is one of my favorite 😍 I used to buy sesame balls at Chinatown in NY, watch them fry using long chopsticks pressed it against the wok and pop up like a big orange and the crust are very very thin, eat it right there. Since I moved away can’t find thin crust sesame balls anywhere yet. I have the recipe for over 20 years but never try to make it. I don’t like to work with the dough, but now I am gonna try because you make it look easy even your steam noodles I haven’t try to make it yet. Thank you 🙏 so much for sharing a lot of delicious foods.
yay, I hope you like this one. I bet your recipe from 20 years ago will be so awesome. The dough is not that hard, hope this video provides a good visual to give you more confident to make it. :-)
I used to eat these all the time when so lived in NYC as a bike messenger in Chinatown too!!!! They are so amazing. One of the best things I’ve ever tasted. I feel so grateful to have lived in NYC and got to eat real Asain food instead of Americanized Chinese restaurant things.
Saw this recipe in a video of a cheff of my country, got curious and search for more about it and I loved this recipe, thanks for sharing, I love knowing about different countries food.
oooh, I love it. yes, we love the black sesame and mung bean paste too.. so so good. So many variations. Thanks for sharing the name, Isabella. Always love learning from you all. Have a beautiful day.
Absolutely love it! Great video, editing & easy to follow instructions. I love your voice overs, this is something I might adapt, rather than written guides. Keep up the great work, inspiration & stay connected. James 👍🏼😜
Hi, love your Jian Dui's recipe. In fact, Jian Dui is one of my favourite childhood snacks whereby my grandma was an expert in making them. By the way, may i know how to keep Jian Dui's crispiness last longer hours?
Omg!! This is my grandma's favorite snack! This looks sooo good 😍 they usually use mung beans paste or red beans paste in Indonesia. Where i live it's called Onde Jawa 😂
nom nom, love the red bean paste and mung bean paste too, Jess. Thanks for sharing the name too. In Malaysia, when we say onde onde, it's the non-fried version rolled in coconut.
can i make a version of this that's savory? I've been craving this for a long time ,but I dont like sweet things. Would this work if i added, say, mung bean paste without sugar, spiced with red bean paste instead? or would mung bean paste fall apart without sugar?

Can I use sweet potato starch instead of glutinous rice flour?
Can I make this and freeze it for later use?

the paste will hold together if you add some melted butter. but the skin will need sugar.
Excuse me. How much you put the water? I never saw on the recipe
Oh, thank you - I love these! ❤ Am hungry just watching the video! 😋

Can we use honey?
Honey is not Vegan and not Bee friendly. Please use plant based products e.g. Agave syrup which is better for all. 🙏🐝🐝🌏
Hi there, I haven't tried with honey yet but you can definitely use sugar. Thanks for checking!
Thanks a lot for sharing! :-)
beware of exploding balls if your oil is too hot
Yes but how much water with sugar is not written..
Has anyone tried this in the air fryer?!?
Hi there, you can check my recipe on the blog and look at the ones that I tried with air fryer. Thanks a lot. :-)
Can make a lotus or red bean next time :)
oooh. good idea! :)
Looks hard after fried 😢
They don't, you want a crispy outer layer and soft and chewy on the inside. :-)
NO WATER ON YOUR RECIPE??? I SEE IT YOU HAVE IT ON THE VIDEO. BUT DIDN'T SAY HOW MUCH?
