I like how the guy goes from seemingly rational and in control at the start to becoming more irrational the close he gets to Michael.

It's very subtle, but effective.

No. Worst timing to put the theme. And dumb intro. Editing was bad in this movie. Say something Michael say something insert theme.... wtf is that corny shit. Theme should've dropped when he killed
@@WeirdEdz sorry but fans disagree. Its fucking perfect to show that THE EVIL has returned. 40 years dormant and it has returned. Hence why the dogs and patients can FEEL the evil brewing inside michael.
Edz look, I used to hate on this film too but after a third and fourth viewing it grows on you. It’s a great “film” just like the original, it’s not just a slasher/ horror film, there’s more to it. The score, editing, acting and cinematography are all top notch. My only issue is the comedy which does grow somewhat; still not a fan of the “peanut butter” gag with ray but other than that it’s not bad.

Michael is the perfect representation of evil. He seems calm, outwardly, but the devil is inside him. His evil aura is perceivable by the dog and other patients, as if he were spreading it around him. Personally, I've always found him an interesting character, and I hope to see more Halloween. Michael needs to get back into action.

This opener got a round of applause when I saw it opening night to a full house last showtime of the night sitting next to a dude dressed as Michael Myers. This opening scene stayed in my brain for weeks. It merely captures the affect evil has on others. It’s almost as if Michael was turning super Saiyan or Ultra Instinct and everyone was feeling his aura and it was so strong that caused the dog to panic. Then when the iconic music began it’s almost as if Michael turned back into his killer instinct mode and he was ready. Such a great opening scene.
Exactly one of the best openings to a movie ever

@@HardAsNailsTony what?
@@HardAsNailsTony source: TRUST ME BRO
love the 0:51 line, it basically summarizes what he's doing throughout the original film. being aware, being observant.
I love how whenever he’s captured without a weapon or the mask, he just goes in a state of complete Catatonia on purpose. It’s as if the evil in him is so strong, he has no other purpose other than to just “be evil”
He doesn’t care to talk to anyone, he doesn’t care for them to know who he is, he feels no remorse, no happiness, he’s just Michael goddamn Myers
I have to say, because he is aware, I’m sure he was pissed when they showed him his mask yet he couldn’t put it on which could be another explanation of why he was especially brutal in this film. During the bathroom scene, he purposely showed the reporter lady the teeth he tore out someone’s mouth JUST to make her even more scared of what he’d do to her when he got his hands on her, and after killing the cop in his car, he purposely parked it outside Laurie’s house so one of them could see the gruesome display he set up for them.
A lot of people don’t like this, but honestly, it’s kinda cool. After all, someone that’s evil would purposely do things just to be malicious, a truly evil person would kill someone with a knife rather than a gun since it’s a slower more painful death. An evil person would also scare their victim as much as they can before their death just because it’s, well, Evil. Capital E.
Yea u make a good point with bathroom scene cause it's like when they showed him the mask,He showed her the teeth and what lies behind that mask are the eyes of evil.
Michael is literally the Devil himself, the manifestation of something from the other side. I have wondered why he is much more brutal in 2018 than in 1978.
@Hoodz. I think Michael was even more sadistic in this film than he was in the original. He waited for the young boy to run back to his dad's car after the kid instinctively shot Sartain out of shock then he choked the kid out and broke his neck even though he could have just stolen the car and left the kid stranded on the side of the road without killing him. He basically bashes Aaron's head in while Dana was too scared to do anything then in his last moments of life Aaron is forced to watch Michael strangle Dana as if Michael deliberately did it to force him to watch. The way he drags Vicky back into Julian's bedroom and the way his breathing changes and he tilts his head suggests he's enjoying himself. He puts the bed covers over Vicky's dead body purely to scare Hawkins when he finds it. He takes advantage of whenever the motion sensor lights go off to get closer to Oscar and scare him before he kills him. Then there's him turning 1 cop's head into a jack o lantern which is probably Michael's sick idea of a joke about it being Halloween.
@@Xehanort10 I've never seen Michael kill kids before. That's one thing I think they got wrong in this movie. Everything else was pretty good. Still not as good as the original.
The Halloween 4-6 continuity version of Michael tried to kill his niece Jamie when she was a kid twice. He might not have finally killed her until she was a teenager in 6 but he definitely intended to kill her when she was a kid. The killing of the kid is there to show that Michael's gotten even worse over the last 40 years probably from the built up anger of being locked up in Smith's Grove all that time and he took out that anger in his 2018 killing spree. Some killers don't care about the ages of the people they kill. They'll kill kids, teenagers, adults, old people and so on. The only reason he didn't kill the baby is because Michael likes victims he can chase, who can fight back and who are scared and know he's about to kill them. The baby couldn't run, fight back and wouldn't know what was going on so he wouldn't get the sick thrill out of it he would killing anyone else.
Honestly impressed with the details kept from the original movie into this one, especially the eye. Never would have noticed, its subtle but there if you look
“Say something.”
“I’d like to thank today’s sponsor, Raid Shadow Legends.”
This movie is 100 times better then Halloween ends
I like to consider this film the end in all honesty; Laurie’s preparation pays off & Michael is burned (or so she thinks).
This & the original stand back to back.
I didn’t care for Halloween ends
This movie is Halloween Ends for me. Kills and Ends should not have happened.
Halloween ends was bad
Halloween ends really stunk up the series
Something I’ve noticed, the very first shot we see of Michael, after Dr. Sartain says “and there he is.” A wide shot of the yard, the framing of the scene, what stands out to me is the verticality. Tall, sheer white walls, and the checkerboard tiles all drawing lines of motion to the center of the screen. To one lone figure, standing perfectly still and even at this far distance, towering over the whole space and everything in it. The Shape is Monumental.
I can't believe that no one is making more of this beginning scene as it sets the pace as to just how evil Michael Myers really is. I was a teenager when I saw John Carpenter's original at the theaters and had nightmares over it. The second one was purely violent as it showed Michael's evil getting stronger and more profound. This is the first real sequel to compliment the originals. When I saw Halloween 2018 in the theaters, after the last scream "MICHAEL!!!!!" and the first chord of the theme hit, the entire audience gave a standing ovation for a good minute to show their appreciation as to what was finally to come from this amazing franchise.
clapping at the opening of a movie? come on now
@@Gamzor yeah and especially in that moment when You're basically glued to Your chair with shivers.

3:38 The fact that the other patients had a breakdown of insanity and were all desperate with Micheal Michael silent, scary. He didn't just come to destroy Haddonfield, he came to destroy the world and all that's good in it.
"Oh, make no mistake. He's aware."
The mask is calling Michael.
“Say something Michael!”
Michael: “I don’t say, I do”
Evil Within Intensifies to Tier III. This intro is very powerful shows there's REAL EVIL within this man.
Halloween Kills was Infinite Tombstone Myers in action. Halloween 6 and Rob Zombie's films show what happens when the Shape drops his stalker act and focused only on destruction.
going to be playing Michael for awhile to celebrate Halloween ends
This is my favorite scene of the movie. Really scary and builds a lot of tension
Overrated film but love that it was film near my niegbhorhood
After watching this scene deeply, i realized that one of the most iconic horror villains was 6 years old for the past 55 years. The babysitter was being chased by a child in an old man's body.
A lot of people make fun of this scene, but to me this is one of the most important scenes in the franchise especially after seeing Halloween Kills. Besides the obvious dread, it pours more into my theory that being in the presence of Michael induces madness. I don’t think he teleports so much as I think when people are around him they hallucinate. I think that when he’s calm everyone acts normal, but once he’s active, people and animals freak out and his evil effects their mental state. It’s almost like a Pheromone or something. Dogs in particular seem to sense his evil. I think his evil corrupted Sartain. I even would go so far as to say in kills it wasn’t just the lynch mob mentality that made those people stupid, but Michaels evil and madness that fed their own mania and drove them to do stupid things (kind of like the gas and drugs in Cabin in the Woods). Karen even starts to see visions of young Michael at the end of the movie after stabbing him just like Jamie did in Halloween 4. I hope that they delve into that more in Halloween Ends.
That’s a great theory
Ya i agree he is some sort of entity in a human body
He is almost like a diffrent species than a human
The only human traits he has is his planing tool use and ability to understand us and drive cars
And of course his human form
I think the Home he lived in was in a spot of great Evil and either he was born in the house
Or affected by it the Evil even affected his mask since he Can sense it without looking or knowing Its there
He is somewhat supernatural
You were right in a way with Halloween Ends.
And that's exactly what they did in Ends, whether fans like or not the way it was executed

When they’re trying to get Michael Myers to look at his own mask he says nothing and I’m feeling this chill in my bones like he’s gonna fight back
Notice how he steps just barely over the line. This means he crossed the line and was doomed.
The reason I love this scene so much is because when that mask comes out the bag Michael instantly feels the power and his power is spreading the patients and dogs can feel it and Michael is just stood there thinking "I'm free already" he knows right now he is getting out of that aslyum
Well not anymore because he's mince meat but yeah

“I dent have tew”
I was originally expecting to see his entire face in this scene instead of just the side and I was expecting the same thing in the new one as well
The ONLY thing I don’t like about this scene is that it makes it seem like the mask was the reason “why” he killed and did what he did. Doctor Loomis said there was NO REASON and HE (Michael) was evil, not the mask. This makes the mask the power source and makes Michael kill.
The scene doesn’t turn the mask into an “evil source to murder”. Michael Myers just liked to use masks while killing, he felt great wearing it, since Myers was a little boy that killed his sister, he felt empowered, like it was a part of his own self. The doctor knew that, Michael loved it so much he felt it even when he was not looking at it, not because the mask gave him the power to kill people, but because he felt complete while the mask was under his possesion.
The mask is the source
@@viniciussiqueira7997 When he got the mask, he was savoring the moment.
Nah it does, but as with many this its " up to interpretation" you could just as easily assume the mask is just part of it and Michael himself his human body is supernaturally possessed by some demonic entity, I can assume that just as much as his mask having some "force" within it, which it also does I believe but its just a part of it ya know.
All the other inmates: put that away before he kills all of us
I feel like the only thing you can do with Michael Myers is sit down and look him in the eyes and that will give you all the answers you need
