Something I’ve noticed, the very first shot we see of Michael, after Dr. Sartain says “and there he is.” A wide shot of the yard, the framing of the scene, what stands out to me is the verticality. Tall, sheer white walls, and the checkerboard tiles all drawing lines of motion to the center of the screen. To one lone figure, standing perfectly still and even at this far distance, towering over the whole space and everything in it. The Shape is Monumental.

A lot of people make fun of this scene, but to me this is one of the most important scenes in the franchise especially after seeing Halloween Kills. Besides the obvious dread, it pours more into my theory that being in the presence of Michael induces madness. I don’t think he teleports so much as I think when people are around him they hallucinate. I think that when he’s calm everyone acts normal, but once he’s active, people and animals freak out and his evil effects their mental state. It’s almost like a Pheromone or something. Dogs in particular seem to sense his evil. I think his evil corrupted Sartain. I even would go so far as to say in kills it wasn’t just the lynch mob mentality that made those people stupid, but Michaels evil and madness that fed their own mania and drove them to do stupid things (kind of like the gas and drugs in Cabin in the Woods). Karen even starts to see visions of young Michael at the end of the movie after stabbing him just like Jamie did in Halloween 4. I hope that they delve into that more in Halloween Ends.

The ONLY thing I don’t like about this scene is that it makes it seem like the mask was the reason “why” he killed and did what he did. Doctor Loomis said there was NO REASON and HE (Michael) was evil, not the mask. This makes the mask the power source and makes Michael kill.
The scene doesn’t turn the mask into an “evil source to murder”. Michael Myers just liked to use masks while killing, he felt great wearing it, since Myers was a little boy that killed his sister, he felt empowered, like it was a part of his own self. The doctor knew that, Michael loved it so much he felt it even when he was not looking at it, not because the mask gave him the power to kill people, but because he felt complete while the mask was under his possesion.
Nah it does, but as with many this its " up to interpretation" you could just as easily assume the mask is just part of it and Michael himself his human body is supernaturally possessed by some demonic entity, I can assume that just as much as his mask having some "force" within it, which it also does I believe but its just a part of it ya know.
Im loving the idea of him just casually living. Sleeping, eating, working out, getting his exercise. And then BAM out of nowhere a few seconds of harmless stimulate and he's back to his true form.
Really this should have been All 3 films. They brought him back to his darkness and Laurie kills him in the end as she is so prepared. It really is the best of the 3 and the best Halloween movie aside from the first.

Imagine if there had been no other Halloween movies between the first one and this...
That would be a shame, because while these were very good especially for modern movies in this awful age, the fact is Halloween 2, 4 even 5 are all amazing, after that it gradually declined of course and some were just full on farcical but 2-4-5 all amazing itds be a real shame if they never existed, this way we have the best of both worlds, those great sequels, and also this basically alt timeline trilogy, win win.
The mask is the source
@@viniciussiqueira7997 When he got the mask, he was savoring the moment.
Somehow I too can feel the mask.
Even the other inmates are afraid of him
Michael is the proof of a man who stays silent and takes action.
I feel like the only thing you can do with Michael Myers is sit down and look him in the eyes and that will give you all the answers you need
Im loving the idea of him just casually living. Sleeping, eating, working out, getting his exercise. And then BAM out of nowhere a few seconds of harmless stimulate and he's back to his true form.
James Jude Courtney did a wonderful job as Michael Myers. But Nick Castle will always be my favorite ❤️
I like to think that the inmates are trying to warn the visitors because they know what Michael is capable of-
This scene itself is evil
What is happening is that these patients are having extreme psychotic breaks. And its fucking incredible.
Definitely watching this on Halloween.....oddly enough
What an Odd Coincidence...
Really this should have been All 3 films.
They brought him back to his darkness and Laurie kills him in the end as she is so prepared.
It really is the best of the 3 and the best Halloween movie aside from the first.
