- Lloyd Hamilton stars in "Jonah Jones" (1924) with a new score by Ben Model, performed on the mighty Miditzer virtual theatre organ. From the DVD release "American Slapstick 2" from All Day Entertainment (uploaded with permission). Order the DVD set from www.alldayentertainment.com
Lloyd Hamilton's worked in pictures from 1913-1934, and his string of successful solo comedies for Educational are sought-after by classic comedy fans. While most of these are lost films, 16mm prints made for the home market have been turning up in private collections over the last couple of decades. note: a "Jonah" is a old expression for someone who is a jinx or whom brings bad luck wherever they go.

Anything with Babe London I love !!
Hamilton needs more exposure!
Some brilliant set pieces and camera effects here.
That dirt road looks like some streets here in Houston Texas. Pothots and holy streets 🤣🤣🤣 Cute movie

Thank you, Ben Model!
Great job Ben!
Hamilton was grate!
He was great too!
Grand Merci! Excellente musique! C'est très drôle!
I just adore Lloyd Hamilton. So nice to see one of his films here.
Glad you enjoyed this! There's a Hamilton DVD that was Kickstarted a few months ago that contains several of his early 1920s shorts. I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Yes, I'd seen that. Sadly too late for me to contribute. But I'm keeping an eye on the updates. I'll be ready to buy as soon as it's available.
Lloyd Hamilton is one of the funniest, totally forgotten comedian from the silent era. Joey H
I agree. He's sorely overlooked, mainly because so many of his films are gone, especially the ones from his peak years in the early 1920s.
@@silentfilmmusic Another reason is he died so early, five years before Charley Chase! Chase was practically forgotten too.
@@silentfilmmusic are there more!?
Very good. Babe London looks so young!
Lloyd has a Harry Enfield look about him.
All the motorcycle cops chaser then wipe out at the corner! Lol Just hilarious!
I'll open the gate the lumber isn't paid for!
Glad you got a kick out of this short!
I enjoyed this and always enjoy your musical accompaniments. Hope to hear you live at Culpeper sometime. Do you or do others know what the make of the convertible was that Dorothy Seastrom drove in this film? I don't often fall for cars, but the lines on this one were gorgeous. Is it possible we ever made a car like this in this country?
I was wondering the same thing
He looks like Patton Oswalt
I'M LATE .
He was no Larry Semon but he was o.k. Special regards to Dorothy Seastrom taken much too soon.
+Eric Towser Glad you enjoyed this short! Hopefully a quality release of Semon's best work will happen sometime…
Yet he had Semon's former cameraman Len Smith, who worked with Semon all through his Sea Lions period.
