Mike, I was born in late ‘94 in central Texas, and I grew up outside in the 2000’s roaming around for miles on my feet, bike & skateboard, and picking snakes and crawfish out of the local creeks that many of which have since been filled in with either dirt or concrete and turned into ditches/drainage runoff areas.
I was even a heat casualty quite a few different times.
The outside didn’t just disappear in the 90’s. Depends entirely on where and how a person grows up.

My dad is also a commercial fisherman. Grew up homeschooled until aged 12. Live bait, delieveries, clam hatchery, it was pretty crazy.
But unfortunately my Dad is not a great man. My mother is a complete nutjob. Both were abusive to each other as wel as my brother an I for a long time.
Watching shows like this and Shawn Ryan helps me as a 34 yr old man to deal with trauma and how to overcome it all and be the best man i can be.

This is one of my favourite podcasts. As usual, the content is excellent. I have been a long-time subscriber and listen to all of your interviews. I recently came across Greg Anderson on another podcast and was fascinated by his story. Absolutely delighted to see him being interviewed here.
Mike, can I play devil's advocate here and suggest that you do not need to explain why you run ads. You definitely do not need to explain to ANYONE why you do what you do, to make a living from this platform.

I enjoy watching Greg Anderson and feel a slight connection (no homo) because he was in the same warzone with my bro at the exact same time. 2/4 finally went home at the end of sept04. 🤜🤛

This guy is awesome! I have his field note cover from eagles and angels - the covid shut down didn't even work and left us with totally fucked health care and economy (worse than before) and we lost nurses from vaccine mandate here in NY. I opted to accept one (before mandates) but didn't agree at all with them being forced or get fired and felt like we were already left to total slaughter during covid and NY state bail reform I was like oh now these assholes are going to tell us what to do? Hochul is the worst. Everything he said is true.

    yet another hot pod gentlemen.
suggestion: Mike have you ever thought of placing a 'Birds eye view camera'.
Pre-positioned directly above your (Guest +1 position) on the couch....framed to a
Head and Shoulder/mid shot so that when guest's like Ranger K9 Handler Julian McDonald Ep 125, goes deep and heavy while talking about his loved Benno (RIP xxx) and thanks you - jokingly suggesting," you could be my psychiatrist".
You (Mike) replied : "Your on the couch already, grab some tissue's and...."
Having a BEV camera in this situation, as an option for your vision switcher to go to would offer a unique podcast angle that...
A : I not yet observed in any broadcast vision (having worked at TVNZ in the broadcast industry for 20yrs).
B : Recreates the patient-doctor ergonomics we associate with phyc. doctor office architecture.
C : Likely has some patient/guest relaxation science in obtaining the optimal body relaxation state enabling the patient/guest's BEST PHYSICAL STATE to - verbally communicate DEEP and HEAVY content/ hard to talk about situations devoid of the energy required to consciously or sub-consciously focus on normal eye line cues and multiple complex facial muscle movement that exists in normal conversations, should yield more heavy content with a slight humorous element consistant with your current interview style.
Having a BEV CAM option capturing an IN SHOW GUEST - HEAVY HORIZONTAL HEALING SEGMENT. NOW OFFERING A RECORDED, CAPTURING AN ANGLE OF PERCEPTION NOW AVAILABLE TO THE "MIKE DROP" EYEBALL MARKET YOUR ALREADY IN...WOULD BE DIFFERENT/COOL/UNIQUE/1ST in my opinion.
I would add that I dont think your show needs it. It's brilliant and emotionally necessary to your guest's/patients already. I LOVE that you do what you do when your doing the do.
Big Love,Mad Respect...........Juddy, stagehand and bouncer of 23 years.

It’s funny how things are different depending on what part of the county you’re from. You guys talk about growing up and how that stuff ended in the 90s. The south is different. That shit didn’t end until the very early 2000s here. Like 2002ish. I grew up in the 90s and remember doing all that stuff you all talked about. No cell phones, no nothing. Just me and my buddies going off on our dirt bikes up in the mountains and shit. Hell, we would ride on the street to the next town over and cops just didn’t care as long as we didn’t act like idiots. We would be outside all day every day. We would go out early and come home when it got dark. Our parents had no idea where we were but they didn’t have to. It was a completely different world then. Like Greg said, I’d freak if I couldn’t get ahold of my son all day long and didn’t know where he was or what he was doing. The times have made us that way. We don’t trust the world like our parents did. We can’t trust it like they could. It’s not an option. The 90s were great years and I’m blessed I got the chance to grow up like that.
