- HELLOOO! It's been at least 4 minutes since my last episode of "But Make it Vintage", and I thought what a better subject than the one and only Mothman? There's just somethin' about cryptids, man.
AYNWHO, for this project I wanted to take his original 'design' and turn it into a 1920's-era theatrical flapper girl. Get it, FLAP? I always love when projects have just a sprinkle of 'cursed', so here ya go!

Right! Faux fur is crazy expensive. When I need it for a costume I usually just thrift a furry vest or coat or someting.
Absolutely… it’s SO expensive😭 my jaw dropped when she said only $15 for that jacket! Also in California, the jacket would be $40 at thrift stores…

When the world needed it the most, the glorious series of But Make It Vintage returned. *Edit* Nick running out to his toolshed to grab some sandpaper to help Rachel without him being asked is just so freakin' wholesome. That's a good husband.
As a lover of all things vintage with a love/fear/respect of mothman (thank you Bailey Sarian), this 'But Make It Vintage ' made me screech with excitement. Soooooook cute! And such a great costume!! 😍 ❤ 😍

they actually have since the mockumentary got famous way back in the day. In fact, moth man has been one of the most loved costumes yearly for actual decades now.
I dont really expect the common folk to know this, as I (a cryptid nerd) have a fascination with this, especially since Moth Man is my favorite Cryptid and my every day hoodie actually has him on the front... so there's so new information for you :)

As someone who only needs to wear glasses about 25% of the time, I was also quite confused at the random times she would put them on. 😂
I have to say, my little girl has always been a little jealous that all of her grownups wear glasses and she never got to… Until we discovered we could just get the blue light blocking! Good for her peepers AND she gets the coveted glasses. 😆

Mothman was the first urban myth cryptid I've heard about. Knew big foot and the monster of loch ness of course, but saw a documentary during a sleepover and me and my friends got scared shitless, thinking mothman was outside.
My husband and I went to the mothman museum back in august, then swell went to the mothman festival and now you’re doing this! I hadn’t thought about mothman in years before now. So weird how stuff like that happens lol
October is my favorite month and Autumn is my favorite season. I watch your videos year round, but your Autumn focused videos are my annual guilty pleasure.
Autumn (and blossoming early spring) are my faves, too, and as we start getting into hotter weather here I was very jealous seeing Rachel's lovely fall foliage and cooler temperatures!! 😆

I’m a huge fan of fall and Halloween, but have been really depressed this month with little energy or attention to do anything… except watch your vids. I marathoned your Autumnal playlist last night and it made me laugh a lot, which is such a gift that I had to say something. Thank you ❤
If you ever feel like going back and you still want color, you could try to make the feathers look like raven feathers where they have a oil slick kinda look. So they can still have a lil 🌈 rainbow 🌈

that turned out so super cool!! just a note if you decide to use fur in other future projects- you only want to cut the backing. use a box cutter and go from the back side, or do really small, shallow cuts with scissors. That'll just help it look a little less choppy and a bit more neat, as that way you won't be affecting the length of the fur itself

This past spring, we drove through Point Pleasant, WV just to visit the Mothman Museum and the Mothman statue. And of course, I had to touch the shiny hiney. So smooth and firm.

I work at a thrift store and we have a year round seasonal aisle and in September it was given over to Halloween stuff and this last week its been slowly going over to the holiday of red white and jolly.
