Outstanding legendary tunes! These guys are are beyond legends, they are gods in the Trance and Techno scenes.

Thankyou for the interview…. The haunting twisted riff on stalla with the driving beat makes my hair on the back of my next every time. Tripomatic Fairytales is a brilliant piece of history that everyone should own. Thankyou Jam and spoon for the memories ❤❤❤
We used to wait for the DJ to play this track back in '92. I remember(ish) being right up front, inside the smoke machine/strobe haze when the DJ (forget who) dropped the track and somehow performed an amazing 20-30 minute (vinyl) mash up of every one of the Stella mixes that were out at the time.
Very interesting and informative interview, as it usual is the case with JAM. Now, dear Twan and Rolf, please consider doing a "The story behind 'Jam & Spoon - Follow Me' by Jam El Mar". You would see me falling on my knees with that. :)
Thank you Christian! I still have 2 more Jam El Mar interviews to edit and post which I recorded earlier this year. I hope to visit Rolf / Jam again in the future and hopefully he's up for an interview about "Follow Me" then. Fingers crossed!
The drums from Stella were sampled by Go (Woodtick Mix) and Moby in return remixed Stella and then again return remixed Go. Geniuses remixing geniuses!
What a tune and what a great story and the perfect name for any Daughter. First time i heard it was from some DJ’s doing the Ibiza thing early 90’s the DJ’s were Parks and Wilson, they went all chilled out and trance, from what they were before. Anyway i was blown away and still have that recording on an old Tape.
That´s one of the best interview I love most! I love Jam´s philosofy! At 10:05 Jam says how supose should be a dj like in the 90´s, no matter what style you play, people enjoy, today I still strugle with that! I think that´s the pure dj essence, be original, play what you want, not what the market, labels, managers want! I talk by experience, because I´m a House, Trance and big room dj , but also I have another artist profile for techno! I don´t belive that all djs feel complete good to play/producing only a style during their careers, that´s my opnion !
I heard Stella on the radio and fell in love with this track. I got this album and I bought quality headphones and played it. I turned up the volume just right, closed my eyes and let it take me to an unexplainable place and vibe that is so infectious, I have this track on heavy rotation always!
I probably say this almost every time you post up a new vlog mate, but that was honestly one of your best yet! @@muzikxpress I just turned 45 last week and the music of that era, in particular Stella, were some of the best dance tracks from the early to mid 90s. I have to say that the Timewriter and Terry Lee Brown Juniors output from the mid to late 90s onwards is hard to beat too.
These are such important interviews. Jam El Mar's music has touched millions, if not billions, of people. Producers like him and Mark Spoon were pioneers of dance music at a time where very little was done to record the movement apart from the odd TV programme or magazine interview here and there. In one way it's what made that time so special (no phones, no social media, no internet) but looking back it's sad that all there is is memories. Your interviews are a much-needed archive and record. The producers you interview are often humble and seem uncomfortable talking about themselves and their work. Hopefully as you do more of these that will change and they'll become more at ease with how much their music impacted clubbers and the world and more relaxed talking about it.

I also dreamed of explanations like this video to the tunes when I was a kid. Said it before but amazing videos and amazing channel. Thanks
Best interview yet! Well done. I always thought (assumed) Age Of Love was a Jam & Spoon alias! I don't know anyone (in the industry) who thought otherwise.... and its 28+ years later!

An awesome interview. A great job once again, Twan. Thanks for bringing this to yes. It's truly great to hear this interview from a legend that is Rolf Elmer. I have been fond of his productions from the early days starting with Jam & Spoon and Dance 2 Trance. I have got to meet him a few times and its always a pleasure to chat with him. He is such a humble person and a great producer. His DJ sets are on point as well. They create a perfect atmosphere for dancing. I look forward to the two other interviews.
Superb interview and what a lovely man Jam/Rolf is who made such iconic tunes of my 20s, dont know if i would of gone into the world trance without his inputs on many of these early classic tunes :)
This is a great interview, thank you. I used to play Stella a lot back in the 90's in my dj sets and it still remains as one of my all time fav tracks.
Thank you so much, doing this interview was on my wish list for a very long time already. Super happy I had to change to sit down with Jam El Mar in his beautiful studio and listen to his stories. What a legend!
If I ever have the chance to interview Rolf again, "Right In The Night" is definitely one I would love to talk with him about. I'm a big Jam & Spoon fan myself and "Right In The Night" is one of my favorites as well. I did pick "Stella" since it was the breakthrough track for the guys; the track that started it all for Rolf and Markus and their Jam & Spoon project. Plus Rolf named his daughter after the track, how cool is that? And now I could ask a bit about the Age Of Love remix as well ;-) Anyway, I'm super happy that Rolf took the time to do 3 interviews for my channel. So I did pick 1 track from each of his 3 most well known projects which would be (in my opinion) the most interesting one to talk about. The "problem" with people that have so many amazing tracks, is that I have to make choices. For example, I want to know the story behind "Follow Me" as well and also the Storm track "It's Time To Burn". So I hope I will ever have the chance to visit Rolf again and talk with him about those as well. So.... don't be sad and stay tuned ;-)
Very nice interview. One mystery remains for me and that is that glitch that can be heard when the System 700 loop starts (2:14 in te song). For a long time I thought there was something wrong with my vinyl. Beautiful and unique song. The history of dance music is one of copying good ideas, but Stella has remained unique.
Such a kind guy, with good stories! Half of an interview depends on a good subject, and he is definitely an excellent partner! I'm gonna name my daughter after this song, if course, that's a thing. But being a person whom this song was dedicated, that's huge! Or his daughter can say: "Do you know this song? I'm a part of it.". This is kind a special thing, it touched me. Thank you Rolf and Twan! Twan, your channel makes the YoTube and the world as a better place.
Pure quality!! Congratulations twan we are 10.000 subs!!! And up. Jam el mar what BIG name in the story of trance... Dance to trance -- Freaks ...a true visionary track of 1991. We NEED a remaster of that!!!!
Nice interview. Definitely a piece of dance music historical value. Proper interviews are hard to come by..... let alone, locating any decent footage of shit from the 80's & 90's. All the best....cheers.
Thank you very much for this amazing interviev,I told my friend Rolf, he should form a group with kai tracid Jam&Tracid I think only he can "replace" the legendary Mark Spoon
Amazing interview, he's a true legend and pioneer of dance music. I got a bit emotional when talking about Mark Spoon. Thank you for the great music and thank you for this amazing interview!! (was hoping stella 99 would be mentioned)?
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the interview! And I had 3 interviews with Rolf that day, I could have asked him a lot more, but this one is over 30 minutes already haha ;-)
Heard the remix on the radio in London Pete Tong. I was so blown away by the mix I went round all the dance music record shops in Soho London nobody had it, except one got it home and it was original track and was so dissapointed it was so mediocre against the jam and spoon remix. Got the remix about 2 weeks later on CD single. The track blew my mind, it was like I had been waiting for this sound all my life.

Legend
Very nice interview. One mystery remains for me and that is that glitch that can be heard when the System 700 loop starts (2:14 in te song). For a long time I thought there was something wrong with my vinyl. Beautiful and unique song. The history of dance music is one of copying good ideas, but Stella has remained unique.
Do you mean the ‘laser beam’ sound? It’s on the beat, so I think it was planned 🙃
'follow me' is one of my favourite's.
I did an interview about that one with Jam El Mar too, check out episode 202 😉
Great interview - Love Jam and Spoon! (RIP Mark)
Thanks Simon! I'm a big fan of their work as well, so it was great to hear the stories from Rolf, such a humble and talented guy!
Great interview , very interesting to get details about the electronic music I loved and grew up with in the 90s!
Thanks so much David!
As expected, another amazing interview. Well done Twan, well done Rolf! Thank you!
Woohoo thank you Muzikxpress 🤩♥️🙌🏻🙂🕺🕺🕺🕺 Jam & Spoon ...my favr8 🤩♥️🙌🏻🙌🏻
Pure quality!! Congratulations twan we are 10.000 subs!!! And up. Jam el mar what BIG name in the story of trance... Dance to trance -- Freaks ...a true visionary track of 1991. We NEED a remaster of that!!!!
Unreal tune. That, and Odyssey to Anyoona. Different gravy
Nice interview. Definitely a piece of dance music historical value. Proper interviews are hard to come by..... let alone, locating any decent footage of shit from the 80's & 90's. All the best....cheers.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!! :)
Thank you very much for this amazing interviev,I told my friend Rolf, he should form a group with kai tracid Jam&Tracid I think only he can "replace" the legendary Mark Spoon
Legend! One of my all time favorite producers of all time!

Geweldig mooi interview Twan! Bedankt!
Dank je! Ben ook super blij met dit interview, ben zelf groot Jam & Spoon fan, dus dit was echt een heel speciaal interview voor mijzelf om te doen.
What a truly moving interview with an inspiring and seemingly humble man. Thank you both for sharing these moments.
Amazing interview. Thank you so much.
Thanks a lot!!
@@muzikxpress thanks twan for all your hard work, it's really appreciated.
Thank you for this interview! Rolf is a legend! My favorite tune is a "You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess"
Namaste Rolf!!
Age of love remix is radically different than the original
Here is a track worth doing some research on ruclips.net/video/6ZAZahyNl14/видео.html
@@joec0000 👌This would fit well to the TV Series " THE MANDALORIAN "
🙏 THIS IS THE WAY 🙏
09:11 so first they made My First Fantastic F.F. and Stella came later. Always wanted to know what was up 😄
Yes, seems like it did go like that indeed.
Brilliant interview. Tripomatic Fairytales
Thank you so much!
Many thanks for this amazing interview. Your best one yet.
