This channel is so extremely underrated. Not only is your voice soothing, it makes all the difference when your talking about watches. Normally, talking about watch straps for 10+ minutes would be extremely boring, but you make it so interesting! This channel needs more love, I hope more views come your way!
Thank you for those nice words. Help me grow my channel by subscribing and pointing others to my videos.
Perfect choice of bund for your watch....looks stunning on the bund... Thanks for the history of the Bund and why they were made .. I have always worn watches on a bund as I find them to be total comfort... Incidentally the Russian manufacturer I believe I have used.. If it's the same company the guy is called Igor.... My first strap from him is the best I have ever purchased and I been using bunds for approx 55 years... I highly recommend him to anyone considering purchasing a bund .. top marks on your presentation... I have liked and subscribed...
I am very happy with my dealing on this strap. He did a very nice job on it.
That looks so much better on the bund. I am in the process of looking for a new strap for my Father's early 1950's Accurist watch. This has 17mmblug width and is Yellow Gold with a cream dial and lots of patina. Can't decide on whether to gi light Brown, dark Brown or Black!! I previously fitted a dark Blue Alligator to it and it really doesn't suit it. Enjoyed the video. Keep 'em coming
Depends how you will be dressed while wearing it. I'm going through a similar decision with a gold watch I have. Video coming out next week on the watch and following up with a new strap after that. I think I'm going with brown even though I'll probably be wearing it with a black or grey suit.
Great video dude. Really enjoyed it, stumbled across your channel today when researching bund straps. Enjoyed your presenting style 😎👍🏻
Thank you. Hope you subscribe and enjoy more videos.
I have a Bulova Accutron railroad watch from my grandfather that’s about the same size as this watch that I think this strap would make it wearable again. Great solution!
It might. I suggest making a paper model just like I did so you can see how it might look.
That strap will look even better with the watch and enhance the overall vibe once it's gotten some wear. Bund straps are very practical, and not just for aviators. Anyone who's outdoors in extreme conditions can benefit from using one. I might pick up one of some sort for my grandfather's 35mm Doxa automatic.
As I said in the video I remember a high school friend had one with a cover to protect his watch from sand. He was from Israel.
I wish Jack Foster company starting making bund straps with the watch face leather covers
the watch and the strap look great!!
Thank you. I am enjoying it.
Great video, Bob. I hope to see some nice pics on your Instagram flashing this piece
You will. Thanks for reminding me.
Hi. Great info at the video. Can you provide some info/contact/link of the bund strap manufacturers. Thanks you.
He was in Russia. I found him on Etsy or Pinterest. But I can’t find him now. Sorry.
Awesome strap
It really turned out nice
Unsolicited advice ~ Always put links to the vendors you use. I would’ve liked to be able to easily locate the seller of the strap.
It was though Pinterest or Etsy. If you email me I’ll send you his email.
Well done. I will too look for a vintage inspired watch to tribute my father who served in the Korean Conflict. Please tell me, about your Ball watch, did you use an AD or buy direct from Ball? And care you share the AD if you purchased from that.
They still used the A-11 in that war. The key difference being that the case back would be inscribed with Ordnance Corps, not Ordnance Department since it was reorganized after WW2. More likely however he wore an A-17.
@@mtcp122 thanks for that info.
I purchased my Ball directly from them during a pre-launch offer.
That’s cool
Yup. I am very happy with this combination
How much did the watch cost you and where did you buy it
It's beautiful
I purchased on eBay for $250. The strap was purchased off etsy for about $100 if I remember correctly.
@@adventureswithtime thank you
The watch and the strap look great. Hope well does the watch run?
Thanks. I covered that in the earlier video "How To Buy A Vintage Military Watch - An ORD DEPT Elgin Watch". But it ran for 48 hours with a daily accuracy of -10 to +10 seconds a day.
Wow 😮 Who made this strap? Can you give us any details? Thanks 🙏🏻
I found the strap maker on Etsy. His brand name is Asketica. Good luck.
I have exactly the same watch.
I love this watch. What sort of strap do you use on it?
Your decision to use a bund strap was a good one. The strap does indeed make the smaller watch look more proportional to your wrist.
Thanks. I've really been enjoying this one and the strap.
I like a good bund strap. Nice video.👍🏾
Thank you. This strap worked out great for this watch.
I have that set of spring bars and I wouldn’t trust them. Very thin. You might want to get a nicer set from Amazon.
I might just do that.
Nice strap … good luck getting another from a bloody Russian now though…
Don't need another
looks like crap
OK. I’ll mark you down as a no.
