Thank you for this video! Boy, did it take me back to my teen-age years. It reminds me a lot of the watch bands that were worn by all the guys in High School in the 1970's. It's funny how trends go in and out of style if you wait long enough. (Even though they may be sometimes slightly different, it is still nice to see them again!) This one is on my to-do list. You did a beautiful job! Thank you, again!
I saw someone put a Seiko 5 series on this kind of band, and it looked really good. I've also made this style out of denim, and that worked out very nicely.
Thank you Chuck! Inspiring! I wanted my original watch band for my gshock still. So I used similar style under layer, but instead made up a split version of the under to go on top. This creates two sleeves that the watch bands slide into. AND it gave me surface to decorate. By the way...burned in design (wore mask and ventilated) and sharpie and design is holding up good.❤
Chuck I always wondered why you don’t melt the thread ends with a lighter or electric cutter? Then you wouldn’t have to worry about the threads coming out of the holes.
Chuck, do you have any tips to stop your tooling leather stretching out of shape when stamping. Ive made some projrcts that have moved out of shape slightly but i might just be a little heavy handed 😅
Here is a nice post answering this. TL;DR: If you are getting your leather from a high quality source (like Weaver) then you are fine. Cheaper chrome tans will have this issue since they used cheaper materials to dye/tan the leather. www.reddit.com/r/Leathercraft/comments/4y005l/solved_can_chrome_tanned_leathers_be_used_for/
@@Starcoffin gotcha, very new to leathercraft myself and it was just my understanding to avoid chrome tans and metal but very good to know! I suppose the best way to find out for myself is to try it!
Thats probably a plastic watch case. I sanded mine where the spring bar goes, there was very little room for a thicker leather to slide through. A flat needle file cut through the plastic quickly. Should also work on metal watch cases. Just don't file into the watch case inside vault.
With this whole pandemic thing going around, any pointers on sanitizing leather goods? I think the idea of receiving handmade items from somebody who may or may not be sick might spook some people. I know sanitizing sprays are hard to find, bleach would damage the leather, other disinfectants require getting the item wet, and germicidal UV light can damage a person's skin and leather is skin I think that might be harmful to the leather. Any pointers?
If the leather doesn't fit between the spring pin and the watch body, take a small flat file and make some room so it will fit. Assuming it's not a real expensive watch.
you are no doubt very skilled, but this strap ...is definitively not a piece of art, lol. choosen chromium tanned leather with its grey flesh side, is not very nice ^^. , edges are not finished and really rough, the buckle is fat and not a waistband buckle.. also, the part of the strap with the buckle might be smaller to avoid having the buckle just in the middle of your wrist; particulary with a big huge buckle like this one.
Came for the project, stayed for the positivity. Love this channel!
THANKS CHUCK FOR SUCH GOOD WAY OF TEACHING AND SHARING KNOWLEDGE!
Thank you!
How you get the pattern?
Chuck's enthusiasm is highly contagious!
Thank you for this video!

Weaver Leathercraft would there be any issue using a 4oz. veg tan instead of chrome tan?

Thanks for writing the measurements in centimetres, going to let this be my weekend project.
Amazing to watch a craftsman at work :) These are great straps, I wear one occasionally but now I want to try and make my own! Thanks for sharing!

Hey Chuck, how about making something out of leather for a fisherman? Perhaps a rod case or lure bag? I think that would be quite interesting 😃
Dang it, now I want to make watchband too!
So happy you made this video! Thanks!

Have you every made Leather Tool Pouch (Dimond or Round Hole)?
Thanks for your good video 👍👍👍👍👍
We've made a tool roll, not sure if that's what you're looking for. We'll link it here: ruclips.net/video/-B43RzCObNo/видео.htmlfeature=shared

What size stitching chisels were used... 3mm or 4mm???
Good job sir
Is it possible to do tooling on chrome tanned leather?
Is there any issue with using the chrome tan with the metal watch? or is it a different material?

Bund! Wow where are ya’al desi @
E+E
Easy and Elegant!!!
Loved the video, I made one kind of like it..
That's great to hear, thank you!
Will the 10mm diameter rivet setter be good enough for a smaller diameter rivets?
Yes, it will work for smaller rivets just be aware that it may leave a ring on the leather out around the rivet cap.
Does anyone know if you can make a face cover along with the bund strap?
Hi, the pattern is no longer available can you please send it to me? thank you!
Hand sewing video has all the ins and outs. LOL!
Is it possible to put the pattern on your website
the link to the pattern is broken
Sensacional!!! Valeu!!!
What the watch model in video?
It's a Timex Expedition. I made a similar watch cuff for my Timex Expedition Chronograph.
