LYRICS
She fills my bed with gasoline
You think I wouldn't notice
Her mind's made up
The love is gone
I think someone's trying to show us a sign
That even if we thought it would last
The moment would pass
My bones will break and my heart would give
Oh, it hurts to live
And I remember the day when you left for Santa Monica
You left me to remain with all your excuses for everything
And I remember the time when you left for Santa Monica
And I remember the day you told me it's over
It hurts to breathe
Well every time that you're not next to me
Her mind's made up
The girl is gone
And now I'm forced to see
I think I'm on my way
Oh, it hurts to live today
Oh and she says "Don't you wish you were dead like me?"
And I remember the day when you left for Santa Monica
You left me to remain with all your excuses for everything
And I remember the time when you left for Santa Monica
And I remember the day you told me it's over
I wanted more than this
I needed more than this
I deserve more than this
But it just won't stop
It just won't go away
I needed more than this
I wanted more than this
I asked for more than this
But it just won't stop
It just won't go away
And I remember the day when you left for Santa Monica
You left me to remain with all your excuses for everything
And I remember the time when you left it all behind
And I remember the day you told me it's over
And I remember the day when you left for Santa Monica
You left me to remain with all your excuses for everything
And I remember the time when you left for Santa Monica
Yeah, I remember the day you told me it's over
I'm telling you when you get older these songs aren't just "fun" to listen to anymore.
They will creep up and hit right in the heart.
Indeed. I am 52 & have been fighting a losing battle against Chronic Pain due to inoperable Spinal Damage for the last 30 years. I am now almost totally disabled. A few years ago I asked my Wife (Married in 2008) if she ever felt like The Biblical Job's Wife, who told him to, "Curse God and Die."
Her response?
"I would never say anything THAT cruel to you."
Ironic, since that's just as cruel.
Listening to songs like this is one thing. Living them? Something else entirely...
I feel this so hard
@@torikazuki8701 Shit, after 15 years, that's brutal even though it probably wasn't meant as an insult! I feel bad for you and wish I could give you a hug (and I ain't generally a hug sort of guy). As for myself, I am pretty sure I am done with the 'love' business. It's all a crock of shit tbh. I loved someone, and frankly I still do, but that's long done and over with.
@@joshuam4835 Over my 52 years I have had 3 big relationships. Each one ended in a steadily increasing level of catastrophe. (My 2nd, in the mid 1990's, I was engaged to an Ardent Feminist. She left me, claiming, 'I was the most abusive man she'd ever known.' Because I tried to point out that she herself was steadily becoming more abusive.
I'm still stuck in my 3rd, because of my disability & have nowhere else to go. My wife has not left me because it is far cheaper to keep me on an Insurance-leash, instead of divorcing me & risking paying out a large Alimony.
I believe in Love. The Greeks have four words for it that excellently categorize the variants- Phileo, Storge, Eros & Agape.
Eros is by far the weakest & most transitory. And if I could meet the guy who wrote- 'It is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all.'? I would smack him upside the head & tell him he was Dead Wrong.
Great truth my friend! I'm listening and I felt the same wow I was happy, we were happy😃🤘
I knew Theory of a dead man because of the Fahrenheit game. Stayed because of the music. Amazing melodies and songs. Thank God for this music and thank you guys for these songs 🎵🎵🎵
Same here!❤

I turned radio on in the game and heard for first time...
yep, 15 years ago

2005 - Just used to play this on Lucas' DVD player in his apartment because there was no other way to hear this song. Then finally in 2008, downloaded the full album and have been blasting this song often. Thank you Fahrenheit Indigo Prophecy! What a game. What memories!
Plays in an optional sex scene with his ex girlfriend :P
Yeah, I remember flying around as zombie superman and physically fighting Skynet from the future, to save the second coming of Jesus from the Illuminati. What a game... no serious, what was that game? I still have no idea what was going on.
I use to play this on my Indigo Prophecy/fahrenheit game
Indigo Prophecy was a great game.I have played it for the fifth time.
Rahul Acharjya You must have played some pretty bad games to call that a good game
In 2006 I had a friend close to my age go missing for 17 days before he was finally found lifeless. Two days after I went to his funeral I heard this song for the very first time. I couldn’t help but to think about him. This song is probably more about issues with a significant other, but I keep thinking about my late friend. In this case, I view the line “I remember the day when you left for Santa Monica” as my friend no longer being here with us. Hope this makes some sort of sense. Just a great song all around and appropriate when going through struggles.
I think of people I've lost to death also.
I'm sorry for your loss
I feel you bro❤
It’s 2022 and this still hits just as good as it did when it came out!
Song will forever hit
2002? 2003? Damn I'm starting too feel old. Only 29.

Ever since 2005
Seldom last night they never disappoint
Lost my high school first love, she had to move from Canada to California. 10 years later I still miss her.
It's been 15 years, half of my life, but still this song gives me chills. Like it was yesterday - 31.12.2005, I'm buying a gift for my "girlfriend" at the time, late evening, snowy, got the Fahrenheit game for free. Oh well.
I felt this. Even games were more enjoyable back in 2005
Man this song sure hits different when it means way more to you now.
♡
Definitely!!👌🇨🇦
Especially if you're sad.. lmao
Makes me wish I can shut off anything that's about her so I won't hurt anymore
Uh oh, found the boomer simp kid
This song makes excellent therapy, whether you are going through a boyfriend/girlfriend situation, or sad for whatever reason, 15 years later, it still works like a charm 15 years, later after Gasoline came out
I'll be 80 years old one day ~ and this song will still be a good tune 🤘
Me too, time is going fast but one thing that hasn’t changed is my love for this band.
Always will be a great song
I’m sixty now and sounds great
Puts request in on the nursing home jukebox lmao
Oh the nostalgia :(
Khal Drogo reminds me of high school
Khal drogo you are still alive ! Kalheesi cheats on you with s’ow
Reminds me of college... I need a drink.
@@inspectorjavert8443 I need one too🍻
Damn . . I've been listening to this song for over 10 years . I loved this band so much .

One of those songs that stays in your subconscious since the first play
Thanks Adum Plaze for making my life 100% better

My life means nothing without THEORY OF A DEAD MAN
how else do you boost your mood meter after watching a child commit suicide
It'sAppleTime well-
This song will forever be a bang. Ages like wine. 💜
heard them play this live last night... it hit my heart so hard.
I seen em live a week ago 😎
Best story ever... Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy ...
+TheMasquedios Totally agree...good, very interesting game, until mid-game till the ending, the ending sucked, the game was very promising, but it never delivered, not even close
+Raven's Darkest Divine wtf is indigo and Fahrenheit thats like literally the only reason why any of you people are here
It's great story but the end was kind of stupid.
+DustyBunnies Fahrenheit(aka Indigo Prophecy) is a 'movie' game made by crazy frenchman David Cage.
Kimo Tavalautta you have beyond two souls and it equal good as indigo prophecy but with great ending(s). Also heavy rain

Самая лучшая песня с 2005 года!
Люблю Фарингейт!
Such a simple song. But beauty is in simplicity.
The moment I heard this song (in the times of Fahrenheit: indigo prophecy), I instantly knew this would be one of my favorites. Today, it still is and it forever will be.
Will always adore Theory of a Deadman. My favorite band.
I am 52 and born and raised on ACDC/Judas Priest/Pink Floyd/Rolling Stones/Aerosmith, etx.......Just added Theory of a Dead Man to my musical repertoire
My dads favorite bands are many of the ones you named and he is hyper critical of music. He is about your age. I suggest Shinedown. listen to their version of simple man to get started if you havent heard it yet
+Kevin Larson great, isn't it? it's a shame only 1 million views...hard to believe that people give more attention to the weak lyrics of bieber's music...
Bieber? Never heard of her
i'm 17 and i grew up on all that too xD
*smile*
This song stays in your head from the first time you hear it. A great song that actually gets lots of airplay.
Right in...nostalgia👊
Thank you Fahrenheit!
Первый раз я услышал этот шедевр, когда играл в игру Фаренгейт. После этого я влюбился в этот трек. ❤ Спасибо за детство, ребята.
Used to repeat it sooo much on my play station, because that was only way at that time I could hear this song... one game, one snowy winter, what a memories! Theory is such a good band.
Loved this song when I was a teen when it first came out. Unfortunately I've fell on many hard breakups and this song helped get me through several of them. I hope it's helped others as well
Heard this when I was 9, and I didn't really understand the lyrics, but loved the song anyway. Now I'm almost 17 and understand this song. I still love it. This song is filled with emotion. That kinda thing isn't something that happens too often nowadays.
And now you're 22 with even more life experiences! How you feeling about it now?
I'm in my 40s and have been listening to it since it was released. Give it some time. It only gets deeper and hits the feels harder with age.

I never like the band. But this is a pretty good song. Always thought this was one of there better radio hits.
Yes! Thank you. Still here because I remember the day this was released.
I used to like them, til the past two albums. Not a fan ever since they changed genres. Just doesn't sound like them.
Good,I'm not the only one.

I discovered your band by the Quantum Dream's "Indigo Prophecy" game. This song helped me to overcome a broken relationship in 2012. Thanks guys!
Forever grateful to Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy for introducing me to Theory of a Deadman. Played the original game.
I’m here cuz this is the most underrated band in Rock and Roll and Canada hands down !!! I have followed them since 89’!! Make up your mind !!!!
Thornley Rocks too -
So many great bands are coming out of Canada whats in y'alls water
The sounds is good.Ever!
The harmonics in this song are hypnotic. A great hook!
I was born and raised in Santa Monica in 1990 I love ❤️ my hometown!!
A girl never knows how good she really has it....
Awe this song reminds me of my ex who passed like 6 years ago. Ill always love her & never forget you Lorna Slopiak!!
Thank you Fahrenheit 💞
Similar situation; but looking forward to the greatness the future brings
Just saw them in concert fronting for disturbed, this song is even better live in my opinion. Everyone who's a fan of theory should see them in concert at least once to feel what I mean. So much more passion in his voice that you miss in the studio mix
Song gives my strength when she brings me down
This has been my favorite song since 2005. I have heard ALOT of songs by alot of bands since then, and this one is still my favorite. ❤
This one hits in a different way for sure
There are much better ones, promise.
;)
@@neiltjones9717 maybe for you but maybe this song is hitting her right where it needs to, you can’t take that emotional feeling away from someone who needs it away, you can say that to someone until your blue in the face but if this is the me song that is feeding that emotion then it just is, that’s what makes music beautiful and amazing for all of us 🤘🙏🙏
I love this song
the fact that this song has only 2 million views tells us that music videos are completely underated
Thank you AdumPlaze for being so magical

Theory of a Deadman has gotten to be one of my top 10 rock bands.
Thank you for creating such wonderful song, I discovered it for the first time, back in 2009, when I played a videogame called Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) for the original Xbox. Good times. 😊

11 years ago I thought that this was the last song I ever wanted to hear. Nine times that year I resolved that it was the day to hear it for the last time. I needed an end...but an intervention caused me to follow a different course, guided me to the realization the problem was chemistry and mine was in disorder. Medicated now and mostly happy now. Be careful you fine souls...there may be a reason.
