Concur, we got our 2018 RAM 2500 Laramie CCLB 4x4 new in Aug 2019 for $51,225 down from MSRP of $68,970. I wish I had a 3500 instead due to payload constraints, but I will suffice with the prices of the trucks today.
I have a 2019 Power Wagon I use on my ranch. The payload is low as well as the towing capability, but it works well in some situations. Here in Montana, when I need to get hay, livestock trailers, or equipment across pastures and muddy roads in the winter, the PW is a life saver. The front locker is the game changer. The 6.4 with the ZF8 has been basically bullet proof. Not one issue in 4 years. I’ll be trading in my 2018 F 250 with the 6.2 for the 2500 Rebel. In my experience so far, this power train is the most dependable there is. That PW works hard and has never had an issue. I expect the same with the Rebel. These trucks aren’t expensive if they make you money and never break down.
With only 200lbs of payload more than my Rebel 1500 Quad-cab, I’ll probably wait. I love the idea of a Rebel 2500, as the PW is too off-road focused for my needs. I hope the next gen cabs for the HD trucks also brings higher a GVWR like Chevy and Ford. I wish Ram didn’t kill their 7.0L N/A V8, but what’s done is done. I’m on the cusp of outgrowing the needs of my 1500, which is why I’m looking at a 2500. However, as much as I’m emotionally drawn to the Cummins, I’ll realistically be better served with the Hemi.
I ordered and bought a 22 Ram tradesman. I paid 42000 for it. I built the same exact truck the other day on rams website and now it is 67000. Ram is whacked!! They have jacked up their prices so bad!! Pisses me off to no end!!
Would be my favorite truck if it had 3 things…the newer true crew cab that the 1500 has, a winch with the Cummins and locker in the front! This would also be on par with the Ford HD Tremor, but Ram missed it in my opinion. Otherwise I would order one. Still waiting…
RAM already has the most capable full size pickup on the market. The power wagon has been tested by everyone and rated as such. Also when you own a Cummins you’re not used to having a lack of low end torque like Ford owners.
I understand off road capabilities decrease payload but for a 2500 that is too low. It should have at least another 800 lbs of payload. That is really my only gripe. Beautiful truck tho!
Yea these are great, similar to the Ford mirrors but better built. Ford has 2 motors for folding and they wear out quick. 2023 They also DO have auto dimming on both sides!
So many people complain online about the ride quality with the 2500 on 20" wheels. Maybe it's a difference with the Cummins and the Hemi. You mention how the ride, but did you also drive the Hemi version? I'm looking at the Hemi. Also did your truck have the air suspension? I wonder if that will make the ride softer or harder.
I have been checking the website every day. I want to order a 2023 but I want to wait until I see all of the available options. The dealers will order one but they don't even know what they can order.
Showing LOVE for the channel thank you for this review on this Dodge seriously I'm personally very interested in one but I personally want a 6 speed stick if it's possible. Im a proud owner of a 2000 Dodge 3500 SLT with literally 100,553mi on her now and I love my truck but ido want a newer one that's well more up to date in the times I'll say plus still having the power if not more than my dully but either way thank you for this video. Thank You and have a blessed day everyone
The Dodge 3500 was a gift from my dad he bought it new back in 1999, I have grew up with this truck in my life and now that he's gifted it to me a few years ago I've kept everything as original as I can but just the memories of my life with this truck from horse shows to just riding through the beautiful mountains here in East Tennessee and knowing it will last me my lifetime into my son's it truly has been a great truck!!! Have a blessed day everyone
I do tow and go off road and want a diesel. I got a gladiator. I’d consider powerwagon with a diesel. This truck cost 30 % of an average single family home BEFORE taxes. Prices have gone out of hand. Let’s see 2 years from now.
Said it like it is you just can’t afford it 😂😂😂😂 I prefer to spend the money on this truck than give it to the irs mine was only 89k and I can not be happier
I traded my 20 pw for a gladiator rubi and after this came out I went and test drive it. And hell no lol. It's s lil pw without lockers lol. Rear only my wife's SUV has rears lol
My freakin' lord just thinking about a not-fully loaded Rebel HD costing $92k before tax...wow. I'm an owner of an expensive recent HD and a car guy in general but the prices still amaze me.
I agree with everyone that the price is ridiculous, but I still would like to see it’s off-road capability please. I still am not getting a new HD ram until they have an 8speed transmission. And if they don’t add it by the time I get one then I want a 4th gen 6speed manual 3500 😎
1831 payload. Sort of sucks, but expected. Ram 2500s payloads are around 2000lb, less with bigger trim like Limited and Laramies payloads suck. That's why I jumped from a 1500 Ram with payload of 1495 to a 3500 Ram.
Never cared for the grill on the rebel…. But like the rest. Wish the crew cab was the same as the 1500. I like the Mega cab but wish they had put larger doors and windows on the mega cab. When your in the back, the windows are set a bit forward and the cab form the outside seems a bit unbalanced
Payload is funny with a family of 4 with maybe a dog leaves about 800lns left. No need for a fifth wheel prep. Pin weight would be insanely higher than remaining payload heck even for a lot of travel trailers
Hi output on the 3500 if ordered has 1075 torque. Unfortunately ram won’t let you get the H.O. In the 2500. Ford is bringing out a H.O. Power stroke for 2024 and it has 1200 torque and can get it in a f250
Does this diesel come with a particulate filter, I have one on my 1ton 6.7 and I get diesal smell in the truck all the time because of it and it kills your fuel mileage! Would never have another diesal truck as the cost to maintain and the constant particulate problems stay away from it and just buy a gas truck!
@@bryandepiazzy8679 My 2009 does gave the EFR and Particulate filter but doesn't use DEF fluid. I have had my truck into a few diesal ahops and all say because it drops diesal into the Particulate filter to clean it out. Just so tired of smelling diesel all the time, and think its effected my health.🤔😡
I don't quite understand why they make the 2500 Rebel Cummins... the spec with the highest tow/payload capacity is a Hemi... Power Wagon all day every day bro!
I want this truck. I don't need a Power Wagon not that I need a Rebel 2500 either. I like the Rebel Cause it's a little bit cheaper. Or not the 6.4 might be and I can get the wench then.
Too expensive. I bought my 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 mega cab Bighorn Cummins MSRP was $63,580. Payed $49,250 brand new. Truck prices are insane now.
That’s what I’m saying. It’s slightly nicer than my 2016 for double the price. No thanks

I’m in eastern North Carolina and I’m seeing dealers around here coming off msrp substantially. Don’t let them screw you!!
@Jared Peterson Because people like you let them screw you and get away with it.
@Jared Peterson Comparing an essential purchase vs a non-essential one. Not sure the argument really holds up
I've been a truck diesel mechanic for 46 years and when it comes to diesel engines this is it

Can’t wait to see you review the 2024 Chevy/GMC Denali HDs!
With only 200lbs of payload more than my Rebel 1500 Quad-cab, I’ll probably wait.

My favorite pickup truck! Good video Ben.
I shelved the rebel package and put some 35’s with a thuren setup on. Rides as good as my TRX below ludicrous speeds.
Love the mountain views, awesome!
Ben is the type of guy who buy trucks because it looks cool..not because its practical 😂🤘🏻
95% of people buy more truck that they need but that doesn’t make them any less fun to own 😂
LOL.. Like running wire. Make sure you have extra, because it can get expensive in dip-shit land. Theres a STORM coming! Orahhhh!!
Just look at 99.9% of everyone who owns a TRX, Raptor, or ZR2 lol
Do they also offer it in a 3500 with the high output diesel with the Aisen transmission?
Would be my favorite truck if it had 3 things…the newer true crew cab that the 1500 has, a winch with the Cummins and locker in the front! This would also be on par with the Ford HD Tremor, but Ram missed it in my opinion. Otherwise I would order one. Still waiting…
The winch and cummins do not fit together. That is the reason why the power wagon did not have it! Keep buyng your Fords LOL
RAM already has the most capable full size pickup on the market. The power wagon has been tested by everyone and rated as such. Also when you own a Cummins you’re not used to having a lack of low end torque like Ford owners.
The Ford Tremor does not have a locker in the front it has limited slip!
Imagine a Ram Rebel 2500 with an AEV package.
AEV is all hype, get a real suspension system like Thuren or Carli.
91k 😂
I understand off road capabilities decrease payload but for a 2500 that is too low. It should have at least another 800 lbs of payload. That is really my only gripe. Beautiful truck tho!
The cummins weights 1000 pounds more then a 6.4 thats why.
Those mirrors look a lot better than previous GEN I wish you would’ve share a little bit more about them by the way great videos always

Had a 2019 Powerwagon great trick but they need to update Cab!
It still has the 4th gen body style
Go with Carli suspension system they have rear springs to up the payload for a power wagon. Gotta have full lockers.
The mirrors are fugly. The electric extend feature is cool, but it's another thing to fail.
91K --- Yeesh
I know right? That's like 5 trips to the grocery store.
@@seanbond1008 🤣😂🤣
Ben,when will we see the rest of the 2023 ram lineup? Have they started production yet or anything? hasnt even been updated on the website for 2023.
I have been checking the website every day. I want to order a 2023 but I want to wait until I see all of the available options. The dealers will order one but they don't even know what they can order.
Didn't know Will Wheaton did car reviews! I'm kidding. This is awesome and I will have this truck!
@ 9:06 That grass has a nice exhaust note.
You should definitely take it off road. The only problem I have with this truck is the price.
Ben you should definitely take it off road!!!
Thank you for sharing, love all the newbies added to include the mirrors. I would never be able to afford one but still nice to look at
What mileage did you average over the week of using it?
With respect to rising vehicle prices all I have to say is that a rise usually comes before a fall.
Take this bad boy off-road!!!!!

$91K, Besides the hood n grill, what's different from.a Laramie with the off-road 4x4 package.
Should have the power wagon winch unless it doesn't fit with the diesel
Ben does this truck have Bluetooth connectivity for CarPlay or is a cable still required?
Take it to Little Moab!!!
Waiting for the heavy duty’s to have the new tail gate. The rambox and the tailgate is the only truly union thing about ram imop
2023 Ram 2500HD Heavy-Duty Rebel 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel Crew Cab 4X4!

Did RAM bring back the analog column shift to all trucks?
Note good old fashioned column shifter, not a dashboard knob.
NO pickup truck is worth $100k
*TRX HAS ENTERED THE CHAT*
Said it like it is you just can’t afford it 😂😂😂😂 I prefer to spend the money on this truck than give it to the irs mine was only 89k and I can not be happier
Hi Ben can you you go with the Ram Rebel 2500 off road??? 😊
I traded my 20 pw for a gladiator rubi and after this came out I went and test drive it. And hell no lol. It's s lil pw without lockers lol. Rear only my wife's SUV has rears lol
Can you keep the side Mirrors extended out on the 2500 Rebel
My freakin' lord just thinking about a not-fully loaded Rebel HD costing $92k before tax...wow. I'm an owner of an expensive recent HD and a car guy in general but the prices still amaze me.
How do you get the cameras to turn on when you signal?
I was wondering what gear ratio does it come out with
How does this vehicle compare to the TRX?
I agree with everyone that the price is ridiculous, but I still would like to see it’s off-road capability please. I still am not getting a new HD ram until they have an 8speed transmission. And if they don’t add it by the time I get one then I want a 4th gen 6speed manual 3500 😎

Why haven’t they starting using the new larger cab?
Damn nice truck...Too damn expensive! Geeeeeze, when are these insane prices going to stop?NEVER!
Fan of the truck... Not the price... Agreed!
Hey do those side mirrors look like they are backwards compatible with 4th gens I would love those
Does this mean we should be seeing the 2023 Ram 1500 before Christmas?
Does this support the new Apple Car Play with that digital dash?
Can you turn that camera turn signal function off?
Thinking of getting a 2023 tradesman regular cab 2500 6.4. Hard to find videos of these.
You are wrong on tow capacity. Only the hemi with tow 16.8k
When do you think the HD RAMs will finally get a true 5th generation cab?
Definitely GMC takes the lead with all the new features and improvements!
Have they done it on the heavy duty models yet?
91k?!!! Does it transform into an RV? Does it at least come with a built on toilet and outdoor shower?
Will turn camera show up in the cluster display?
Ben are the 2023 2500 limited gonna be different
Would the new trailer mirrors for on a 2022 ram heavy duty
You can even make the RAM glow, have yellow light, red light, or white light, you can choose.😎
Love it but was anything actually developed for this model or is this all just a parts bin compilation.
The 1500 Rebel to me looks cheap with all the plastic. But the 2500 makes the plastics look nicer some how. And the wheels look nicer as well.
Rebel is a nice truck but I've never liked the plastic front end.
Please man, we need to see that truck offroading. Make the video please. Hope you read this. Best. Great Video.
No one can't do what dodge can do love the new dodge rumble Cummins awesome truck dodge. Yeah Ben like if take it off road see what it can do
any idea if this will be available with a front bench seat?
Would like to eventually find a set of these rims as take offs for my 22
Does it come with a transmission that lasts?
Payload is funny with a family of 4 with maybe a dog leaves about 800lns left. No need for a fifth wheel prep. Pin weight would be insanely higher than remaining payload heck even for a lot of travel trailers
I just can't see paying that much for new trucks anymore. Pretty soon, gas powered tradesman trucks are going to be $100K
I love the off road videos
What’s the clearance?
850 LB of torque? 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌MAN!
And that's the Low Output motor too .
Hi output on the 3500 if ordered has 1075 torque. Unfortunately ram won’t let you get the H.O. In the 2500. Ford is bringing out a H.O. Power stroke for 2024 and it has 1200 torque and can get it in a f250
Question - can a person get this truck with the mega-cab and RAM air suspension?
As a RAM 2500 truck owner, For me, that is the only thing missing.
No
What was the payload sticker on this truck?
A 2500 with the diesel is not a great combo, unless you dont tow or haul. The diesel destroys the payload capacity in the 2500.
Bro your beard is coming in nice 👌
🤐🤐

Every diesel sold in America after 07 is fitted factory with a Diesel Particulate Filter. 2012 or so after now has the DPF, EGR, SCR and DEF fluid
@@bryandepiazzy8679 My 2009 does gave the EFR and Particulate filter but doesn't use DEF fluid. I have had my truck into a few diesal ahops and all say because it drops diesal into the Particulate filter to clean it out.

Apologies. I forgot that I paired my phone with that truck!
F250 tremor payload is 2700lbs!
Perfect, besides the price 😯
BTW, I was watching this for the off road review.
@BenHardy What are your thoughts on the 6 speed transmission as it relates to towing with this package?
WOW WOW WOW 🤩
Instead of offroad, you should tow something with this.
I want this truck. I don't need a Power Wagon not that I need a Rebel 2500 either. I like the Rebel Cause it's a little bit cheaper. Or not the 6.4 might be and I can get the wench then.
Could get on board with this if not for small tires and horrible front grill.
Very nice!!!
Price for this beast
A powerwagon with Cummins
Show off road capabilities please.
Why can't all ram trucks come with the steering column shift. IMO the dial shifter is lame af.
