Also want to know ur source of motivation for this
Hi Colin
Holy cow. Cutting that axle in half was the moment I understood the scale of this thing.
Yep
I know this thing is amazing
@Justin Germann He could throw the supersonic baseball cannon with his trebuchet. It's not even close.
Hey dustin love your channel. Keep up the good work 👍🏽
What if he builds a mini trebuchet to get launched by his big trebuchet but while the mini is in the air it launches another trebuchet. Trebu-ceotion.
I approve
Eyyyy Tom!
Tommmm
Mr Trebuchet himself
The king himself
I feel like if we got you, Furze, StyroPyro, and The Hacksmith together... no army could stop you.

Dude's living the dream. Not even having to pay for these crazy projects from his own pocket any more... had I been told as a kid that this is an option, I would have made quite different life choices. And that comes from a guy who does like his job :)

@@twotone3070 No way. Our newer schools are _way_ overbuilt and can survive anything up to and including earthquakes and nuclear blasts. Best you can do with a medieval siege weapon is break a window or put a dent in the siding. (for buildings with metal instead of bricks)
Maybe a flaming projectile can make it an ACTUAL flamethrower ;) We shall see XD
I like how Colin is just slowly assembling his own military arsenal. He has tanks, spinning knife belts, immortality, and now trebuchets.
If a rebellion happened, I’d want to be on his side
Love how you just slipped immortality on there 😂 that healing factor
Not to forget his underground war room bunker
Gotta have em all!
And don't forget - an underground bunker. + a saftey tie to protect him from enemy attacks.

*fart at France flashbacks*
As well you should be.
For the record though, you should probably keep a closer eye on Germany. History has been repeating itself this year.

"When in doubt, C4." -Jamie Hyneman
'when in doubt, flat out'
-a certain scottish rally driver
Wasn't that "In dubio prosecco!" ?
I built one of these for college!!! Its counterweight weighed in at 1500lbs and it's throwing arm was 15 feet long! It's nice to see someone with incredible fab skills build one!
Holy crap, that's just too awesome! Quite a few years ago I made a (substantially smaller) wooden trebuchet for a class project. That thing already flung stuff across a classroom. Can't imagine what a beast of this size will do!
We all know the Trebuchet is the superior siege weapon anyways.
Oh hey dark, was up
But did you calculate the square root of Pythagorean’s Theron plus orange juice?
It's so superior, I saw a few in that dreck of a movie "Gods of Egypt" set WAAAY before the invention of the trebuchet.
I only saw about a minute and a half of that movie on a friends television, so I have no idea what was going on in the scene, other than Gerard Butler scowling.

Literally came here to say exactly the same thing about exactly that part of the video. Hope it's on under the hoodie!
yep, i need to mention the lack of safety gear in general... - this are some heavy pieces, and even if it's a "fun" channel... i hope he did at least some calculations on the forces involved for the parts and especially joints on this thingie^^
It’s the uk in November what did you really expect
@@prianpurche9832 Yeah I work in construction and thought one of my safety adviser would do a heart attack seeing this vid !
Oh no yah furze forgot the safety tie.
You know most youtube creators will build something just barely strong enough to make it through one test for the videos sake. Not a single one of your projects have you cut any corners. Your the real deal and a tier above. Love your videos and your brilliant ideas. Keep doing great work!
It's hard to say if this this structure is structurally sound or not (I work in the metal trade). Sure the parts wont fall off but there's no guarantee that the welds on the structure will hold all that weight and stress. This is why structural engineers and qualified welders that can actually weld are so important when building big structures like this, you want to make sure the design of the structure as well as the welds dont fail when you put it under so much stress especially when people's lives are at stake; you dont want the structure to break or snap and cause harm.
I finally understand what the jackhammer at 6:25 is for...
The last few videos explain so many of the questions i had... i love it !
Pretty cool. I made 4 of them over the years and the one with wheels didn't work well. It shot farther by keeping it still and choking the wheels. Thanks for the great vids.
I like how Colin put almost the complete build in one video whereas other RUclipsrs would make you sit through 20 videos and 6 hours just to see the finished product, Great Job Colin!

The reason for that is twofold.
First, the sponsor probably only paid for two videos.
Second, when you have all of the money to get all of the parts and all the stuff up front, it generally doesn't take that long to build things.
when you have to do it bit by bit, like most RUclipsrs do you end up with a bunch of videos showing you them doing it bit by bit.

Forklift forks are indescribably strong. Once at my job, someone was not paying attention and driving into the shop with the tips of the forks dragging the ground. The tips of the forks, obviously, got caught on the edge of the concrete and instantly stopped the 8 ton forklift; lifted the back axle off the ground, blew two giant chunks of concrete/rebar out of the floor and almost threw the guy through the mast. Not even a scratch on the forks

I used to work in construction and it is very amusing to see people so amazed by heavy machinery, those forks are meant to pick up nearly 2 or even (in some cases) 3 times the machines weight, those forks can take alot of force, and they even make extensions for forks, which can put the ratio all the way up to 5 or 8 times, but at that point you would need to add more weight to the back of the piece of equipment lol
