- In this video, I’m breaking down 15 of the biggest myths in Ark Survival Ascended from so called "facts" that players swear by to common mistakes that could be holding you back. Can you instant tame Argentavis? Can you get Cactus Broth on Aberration? Does the Yutyrannus help with taming dinosaurs? Do Males swing faster than Females? Great vid mate! Another thing about the seagull is those golden fish make taming the duck super easy (now that it's fixed in ASA) and what we need duck for? Giant mosquito baby can ask for golden duck egg. * All names have been changed to protect spelling.

Hey, nice video. I got a few notes though :)
First, for a video like this, timestamps would be nice. Second, a yuty‘s roar doesn’t directly increase the torpor taken, but the damage taken (which means your weapons deal more torpor).
Third, as far as I know the slomo command caps at 16x, so that’s the max the game can speed up with this command.
@halica4131 the slomo thing makes a ton of sense, and from my testing the torpor increase is more substantial than even the damage taken increase from a yuty fear roar. I do chapters sometimes, probably should make that a habit for every video
@ Okay, I see! Didn’t you say the torpor increase is about 50%? That’s exactly the damage increase the fear debuff does ^^
With the Icthy, The fish it brings back is intended to be fed to the Hesperornis (little walking bird).
Whenever we try to feed one by bringing fish to it you only get like 1% taming. Someone recently told me that if you use the fish that the Icthy brings back to you to feed the hesperornis that it will give much more taming on the hesperornis.

Pelegornis is not the only flying creature that can swim. The Rhynio can swim. Most the "gliders" can also swim. The rock drake, the managarmar.
i did forget the rhynio somehow, id definitely exclude gliders from that though as all of them can fly
Do some more testing on the Argie. In the video, your trap is too small to allow it to eat. We use this tactic to get the Argie's health back up in cases where it has low health. He will eat the carcass if he has enough room to move around but in that trap you had it it was too tight of quarters. This can also cause the dino (any dino) to glitch out of the top of the trap, if the area in the trap was just a bit tighter.
Idk if it will work for taming it fast, but the Argies will eat carcass while in a trap that has enough room to do so.

this is interesting, i did more testing and u were correct about the corpse getting harvested in a bigger trap. that being said, even with it harvesting that corpse, its hunger still didnt drain on knockout

Actually, Pego doesnt steal item at random if there's nothing in your last slot, it always takes the last thing you put in your inventory. Just pick some berry seeds or something, it wont steal anything important.

@ I got one that had crazy oxygen! You could stay under water way over half and hour! I tamed a load of water tames with it!

I just have to say about The hitbox and character size thing that all characters no matter The size or gender (iirc) have The exact same hitbox and your camera is also in The same place with all characters.
Different sizes with different hiboxes was a thing on ase
@bigyeet8905 the same sized hitboxes in Asa thing has been disproven online for sure, but the height mattering is only relevant if in first person because of camera mechanics, in third person, they’re all the same height because of where the camera is positioned!
Argentavis could be a good boss killer as it is just one of he most op flyers in the game with its weight reduction and damage. If you really pump damage into it, it can take on creatures in a few hits.

Well I can then only guess my friend's server has some sort of magic fall damage because when I'm full health at 550 I always die no matter the height of the fall.

yeah thats 100% not normal, ark has a hardcoded fall damage cap of ~433. glad you enjoyed it!

The jellyfish stun is not permanent anymore. This applies to all stuns, the dino and player receive a 30 second cooldown and I know this because I was jumped by a wild jellyfish taking a spino back to base and it was able to attack and kill the jellyfish.

having a tame give you minor amounts of prime dont change the fact there usless tames

ASA and ASE not being the same is also subjective, yes ASA has new features, but they could've added or still could bring em to ASE if they wanted to. ASA basically is ASE, just they still update ASA while they gave up on ASE, so ofc its different in some ways if they update it, currently its not different enough for me to not consider it basically as a ASE remaster
Yeah they could’ve done all these changes through ark evolved, I completely agree. When all the maps are out it will be very different

Tek binoculars from vanilla do the job too, it’s just less clear so I use awesome spyglass for videos
The pelegornis is not the only flyer that swims. The Rhiniognathus can also swim.

Giga's and carcha's spawn with no issues on nitrado servers.. at least the ones im writing the code for currently.. and didnt need any tweeking for them to spawn in... has not been an issue since extinction released, so it must be something else

The Dino success may not have other things agto to it, but it doesn't care. Cause the Denio agros to everything In its site. Including demorphidons which is the bane of your existence when you're taming them.
deino is super strong, its always funny to see it chasing around dimorphs

For the yuty fear roar myth does that mean that the braciosaurus can be useful for taming gigas? Cuz if you didnt know the brachiosaur has a fear roar that scares away even gigas. So you should test this whenever you can also for the rhyniognatha since it also has a fear roar but i forgot if either of roars inflict defense debuffs like the yuty.
i cant speak on that yet because it hasnt been integrated into official yet, but im almost certain that it would make taming gigas easier. i'll make some form of post or content about that feature if it is included with the brachio's release

Do you know how to get cactus on the island map
unfortunately its unobtainable on the island, this is because the island dropped before cactus ever existed (was added with SE), so theres never been a way to get it on Island
So how do we get cactus broth on the island
dude knocking dinos out has no effect on the taming effectiveness weather you do is super quick with asc long kneck shocking darts and a yuti or you spend all day with a sling shot . effectiveness is based on the amount of bites it takes to tame and any damage taken AFTER its passed out.
i worded this section extremely poorly, i shouldve said efficiency rather than effectiveness.

There's a fundamental issue with this video for fans of mythbusting content: what exactly qualifies as a myth and what it means to debunk myths.
Ppl don't run around claiming they cant make cactus broth on Ab--cactus broth is a super cheesy strat which is clearly way outside the bounds of intended gameplay on the map. Rather, some ppl claim you *CAN* make cactus broth on Ab, which is a wild claim qualifying as a myth, and other ppl only in response to the myth try to counter the myth (without knowing about that one dungeon supply crate). So in this instance, the myth is actually "You can make cactus broth on Ab", and your video has proven this myth is true.
The yutyrannus roar thing is also a myth, but you've proven it is true (even though you said "it is not a myth"). So you did not debunk a myth here; you validated one.
TLDR: Myths can be true or false while remaining myths. And to debunk a myth, the statement you are criticizing has to actually be a myth in the first place.
yeah thats why i called it debunking myths, its not like i can get rid of these myths from existence. all i can really do is set the record straight on myths that i see getting thrown around super commonly through different mediums like my comment sections, ark forums online, etc.
hopefully you appreciated the specification of which ark this video was about, i thought about that comment you made and decided you were right in saying theres enough distinction between the two, and that i should specify it

I think the whole ARK community is about to pendulum swing away from perpetually doomposting about ASA and perhaps we can help everyone get stoked about ASA and how the game really is moving in a great direction and has---by now---truly eclipsed the original.

Outside of grinding down a thorny saddle, there is absolutely zero way of getting cactus broth on ab.....and thats IF you get lucky and get a thorny saddle 🤷♂️🙄 so it isn't a myth since its true. I've been playing ark since the first drop on ASE.

Myth isn't true because you can still do it, whether you get lucky and get a saddle fast or not is irrelevant because its still doable, it can take a while, but its doable.

@@JasesAce Pego can't compare, pego never ate my stack of stimulants, heal brews and custom food. They do steal valuables like cryod creatures but its typically pretty easy to kill it and get it back if you have any situational awareness. Ichtys straight up devour it and idk if its server lag or what but i have hit those with arrows or bullets so many times and the hit just doesn't register even tho i can clearly see the blood splatter or arrow stuck in it (thats how i managed to lose 3 stacks to one bird), literally looked like a flying porcupine once because of all the arrows sticking out of it, have not had hit registration issues with any other creature in the game.

i agree that asa's monetization methods are insanely lame, but i think theres enough new mechanics that arent behind paywall to make the claim that theyre different. i definitely agree a lot of the new content is paywalled though

Taming effectiveness does not drop as torpor reduces; that's basic knowledge.
Also on that ad, there is no such thing as a lag free server, and buying stuff in an admin shop IS P2W.
