Sleeping bag is great, but if someone has Bob's tall tale the coffin is much better. The sleeping bag is a 1 time use. Where as the coffin is a multi use item. It can also be picked up. It can also be rotated so it may be placed in a smaller footprint.
@@JasesAce I have 1,150 hours on ASA so far and I'm still learning new things lol, however, I have already gotten down most of the common tips such as copy behavior for mating to make breeding less of a hassle
@ there’s 100% layers to it, if that’s some kind of dig from the broll in #1 I manually did bc originally I had something about breeding in the voiceover 😂
Completely agree with your final remarks for Bobs to have fun, but I think this applies just as much (if not more!) to ppl with thousands of hours, especially PVPers. INI manips, always carrying a cryo'd flyer for example, I mean...forgive me if I am missing the mark here, but why even play ARK if you're gonna cheese the PVE elements and cut out so many ways of play due to their being slightly suboptimal? You can complete the entire island map start to finish without argies or ankies. You can 100% aberration with diplodocus, carnos, glowtails, and chitin armor. Etc. etc. etc. ARK is 100% intended to be an immersive sandbox experience, and PVP, of which I have done a ton, is typically decided by more mundane factors, not graphical settings nor whether you had a cryod flyer on you. The guy with painted pink scuba goggles, a rocket launcher, a procoptodon, and a dream can beat the guy with a capped pillared plat saddle racer. And I know, cus I've been that guy--yes, on official. Point being, I just suggest you follow your own advice, brother, as the mistakes we make in ARK don't need to turn into hard restrictions--obviously with the exception of "Do Not Fly Through the Redwoods" XD. 6:51 Great tips regarding tame groups, but you can avoid a ton of issues by setting all tames to "Ignore Group Whistles" at birth and use the tame interaction menu to apply that setting to all dinos of that species, only disabling this setting for tames you intend to take out on adventures. I've literally never had that dreaded J whistle issue because of this and it is extremely easy and fast to set up. Having J whistle bound (to J or wherever) can be a life saver--unbinding it could be the reason you lose your kit/a valuable tame/etc. Also, saying "if you have progressed, the only creatures which are a threat are gigas and carchas" is...both false in general, and map-dependent in the specific. Alpha karkinos in certain circumstances can be a menace. Plus, are we just gonna overlook purlovias and baryonix? They spawn on nearly every map and in the right situation can absolutely turbocuck even the admins of the biggest alpha tribes. Idk, this statement really didn't sit right with me. Hard agree on beer in PVE. It's helpful especially for reaper taming if you're doing it on foot as you are more or less guaranteed to get whacked around a bit and sometimes the shield doesn't fully cut it, nor can you always guarantee you are safe from random flank attacks down in blue/red zone. There's also this weird misconception that beer barrels are a late game item--they're totally doable early game and only require thatch and berries to maintain. The most expensive part of the entire process is just the jars, lol, but now these are returned to you after you drink the beer--a nice ASA QOL change which OG players may not even realize yet. Finally, Daeodon refill more food with cooked meat than raw (25 food vs 10 food, so it's substantial, and cooked prime is 50 food for daeodon btw.) You filmed yourself filling the daeodon with raw, so I figured I'd mention, especially cus I bet a lot of ppl in the comments also don't know this. Whether intentional or not, you confidently broadcast this image of being a master of ARK, so there you go, something critical you didn't know about an incredibly important late game tame. Perhaps you're sensing a theme with my comment: take your own advice about enjoying the game and not min-maxing everything, cus you might still have more to learn, and there are many ways to approach situations--sometimes, yes, even more optimal ones than what we thought was meta!
definitely shouldve mentioned ignore group whistles, i dont think purlovias or baryonyx are a huge threat in the content i was talking about there (if they were to roam around your base). Of course theres other threats as you progress, they just dont threaten bases. Beer>>>>, i actually didnt know that about the daeodon, very cool!
Mutable traits are game changing for breeding lines ESPECIALLY for mammals since you can’t just afk them with a Ovir raptor I also tell every new player to NEVER do the bare minimum, if you need 100 ingots for something do not go out on your argy and Anky just to harvest 2 nodes and go home with your 237 metal If you need 100 ingots go out and farm as much as possible, make your time worth it so you don’t waste your time doing it sooner This applies to literally every resource in the game Also if you need stone use a doed on metal nodes, it’s so much better than normal rocks
all of these comments are very good tips, i do think doedic is fine hitting whatever (especially if metal nodes are far away) because it slotcaps somewhat quickly either way, but all true points!
@ that’s where my next time comes it Bring like 5 argies. Especially for wood runs, go to a redwoods biome with a chainsaw and 5 argies and you will never need wood again lmao Applies to stone runs aswell obviously
same here. I knew groups weren't useless, but in ASE they never worked for me for some reason. So I just started ignoring it. It looks like in ASA group whistling might work better.
12:28 idk if this still exists or not, but I found out you can easily cure this by taking lesser antidote so its give you the ability to drink beer with no consequences other than cooldown
@JasesAce normally it's used to cure swamp fever, but I found out it can get rid of other afflictions like rabies and even bleeding and noglin mind control. Highly recommend investing in it.

One of my tips is to first find a good base location set up a temporary foundation then immediately search for essential farming creatures. Anky, doedic, and argy are top priority. Then get something for wood( I just go with whatever I find first like mammoth or thorny dragon because they are common) and eventually fiber/berries (dire bear or theri are my main go too) And finally a decent ground mount for caves or land travel
Just to add onto the Diplocaulus the other great thing about it is it does the insta kill thing the Pelagornis does on fish on Trilobites meaning its great to farm pearls and chitin with early game.
@lordstraxus9352 I think it's more that the ovis give three types of resources. That being said I do think it should have been mentioned how hard these are to get unless you get a lucky drop veggie cake or happen upon one with a baby
you can definitely get a couple veggie cakes through early game, and the ovis farm is extremely useful for the entire game in my opinion. the mutton isnt great for 1 stack size, but having mutton whenever you need it is very useful
Finally some love for the dimetrodon and the diplocaulus. The dimetrodon is literally just an AC that you can duplicate without cheating, tame any male and any female and rub them together to get a third one. Can't incubate high level eggs because the dimetrodons you grabbed have bad melee? It doesn't even matter, just make more, need an AC to hatch the dimetrodon eggs? the dimetrodon IS an AC, they multiply exponentially. Why spend sixteen hundred metal to build a bunch of air conditioners when you can literally have infinite amount of dimetrodons for free?
tamed a lvl 145 yuti yesterday and only lost 1 lvl due to taming effectiveness using mutton and to make sure none of the mutton spoiled i left the Yuti with no food until its food bar was low enough to insta tame and then i quickly grabbed the mutton and put it in a fridge cause i only had 1 wild Ovis and didn't want to use Prime meat for taming
@JasesAce for now I have to capture wild Ovis cause I haven't yet found any beehives yet to get what I need to be able to tame ovis and start a farm yet
