Fantastic tour, and lots of great options. I love having a kitchen, or kitchenette, in the room. So convenient! Lots of nice, affordable hotels to stay at, if you don't want to stay at a park resort. Thanks!
This video is so much fun. Imagine my delight when you featured the Desert Palms, our favorite hotel! We’ve stayed there many times and they are great. They will upgrade your room if you ask (and it’s available, of course). Great breakfast, we love to sit outside. You can watch the fireworks from your room’s balcony! This year we booked through Get Away Today, we’ll be there in two weeks. Excitement!
Thanks for this great and informative “little” video! It’s been several years since we’ve been able to go to Disneyland and I had no idea where to stay on our next trip. Now I have several cool places to choose from!
Great info! Thank you! We saw you filming at the Element in Anaheim but didn't want to interrupt you. It was a really great hotel by the way, so we were glad to see that it made your video. Thanks for all that you do and for your positive and cheerful outlook!!
This is a fantastic video. So informative. Well done! Most people that are not from Anaheim have no idea these hotels exist, it’s wonderful you were able to show each hotel and all their amenities.
We stayed at the Fairfield Inn and the room was really nice. The walk to or from Disneyland was minimal. Glad to see this hotel included in this video.
OMGOSH! Chris! This was epic! We like to stay the night sometimes (live in the high desert) and it’s so nice to see the rooms BEFORE going! Fantastic! I have the same weird thing about the shower curtain too! lol Anyway-thanks for this one!!!
I just did some research on walking distance (and google rating) but sorry no info on parking fee : 1) Element 18minutes(0.9mile), google rating 4.4 2) Suncoast Park 16min.(0.8mi.), 4.2 3) Cambria 21min.(1mi.), 4.0 4) Courtyard 10min.(0.5mi.), 4.7 5) Fairfield Inn 9min.(0.5mi.), 4.3
Thank you for this! We are always looking for great hotel choices in the area...You've opened our eyes to some very nice options! Happy holidays, and YES! Go PADRES. (8:39)... :-)
Fun Fact: Anaheim Marriott Convention Center, when we went to Disneyland New Years 1999/2000, each had this paper in each room could fill out about your stay there. Likes-dislikes-what came for-etc and they put into a time capsule to be opened 2999/3000. Someone in that year gonna read about my stay. 🤩
Tropicana is my go to, but stayed at Anaheim Desert Inn, Grand Legacy, Best Westerns (several of those), etc. It’s literally on the intersection directly across from the park. anywhere on South Harbor Blvd is on the main gate side of the park. Katella is perpendicular to that, but it’s a walk. If you want cheap, go on Ball St. it’s quiet and cheap but it’s behind the parks. S Harbor Blvd is the best if you want to be close, but it’s crowded and you’ll be paying for the close proximity to the park.
Great video. We were already thinking about Desert Palms & Suites for our trip next year, so it was great to see. ❤️ Had the most terrifying ride from LAX to Anaheim ever with Karmel. Driver was crazy, speeding, weaving in and out of traffic, driving one hand and checking his phone. Very stressful start to our Disney vacation.😬😬
Love this tour! The only thing that was missing was distance to Disneyland for each hotel. Is it walking distance? Are there other transportation options? If I have a car, is there an additional parking fee? (Chris gave some of these details for some hotels, but not for others.)
If you’re on S Harbor Blvd, you’ll be on the main drag. If you go on Katella it’s not too bad, although after walking in the park all day it felt super far, even though it’s just two lights down. If you choose S Harbor Blvd and your stay is between Ball and Disney Way you should be able to walk it fine. Towards Katella you’ll be tired but it’s doable if your kids are older. Past that many motels have shuttles. If you choose to drive expect to pay $20 a night in any motel for their parking.
Yes walking distance and parking fees would be awesome. We have been toying with visiting Disneyland and this would be super helpful. We would be flying and renting a car.
Great "little" video! Sorry, I had to...88 is my favorite number. Good job, Editor Alyssa! I've stayed at a dozen hotels near Disneyland, but never at any of these, so thanks for the info. I saw a few that I plan on trying.
Looking at going next year with the family and I love ❤️ videos like this to help me plan the best vacation without all the worry about picking the best place to stay.
Great suggestions BUT be warned on the Courtyard and Fairfield in the late spring summer those two hotels are high school group heavy. LOTS of groups of high schoolers.
You are awesome Chris, THANK YOU for this. Little while ago I stayed at Desert Palms, way nice. But for each hotel you should have posted distance to Disney. So we all know. Some for us, that's a big selling point, how close it is to Disney. Thank you.
Anywhere on S Harbor Blvd between Ball and Katella is the most popular motels and easily walkable. Katella and Ball ST motels are much cheaper, but be prepared to walk. Anything beyond that you may want to use a shuttle, especially with little kids.
What an awesome video! I took SO many notes and have bookmarked each hotel for our future trips. I tend to have travel/hotel anxiety, sleeping in a new place is really difficult for me, but being able to see the rooms ahead of time is really easing my mind. Thank you so much!
I booked Suncoast for $447 for 4 nights. 2 queen beds with fireworks view. GOT LUCKY because they normally start at $200 per night and booked it for this Christmas. Hilton at convention can easily go for $100 but still have to shop for it. What is nice about Hilton at convention is that you will hardly have to wait for shuttle transportation to the park. Doubletree is another price saver. Rooms are much larger.
This was such an awesome and informative video-thank you so much! Have stayed at Fairfield & Anaheim Marriott- both very nice! Got a call from the Anaheim Marriott when we were on the Little Mermaid ride one evening years ago advising us there was a fire in the room above ours. Had to change rooms when we got back to the hotel @ 1am 🥱 Thankfully no one hurt 🙏🏻
I recommended the Candy Cane Inn. It’s a small, quaint place but it’s perfect if you’re staying for a couple days. It’s super close to Disneyland and has pretty good prices. I’m pretty sure it’s temporarily closed (it was when I went in October) just for updates and stuff. My family went to a Hilton instead, and we totally missed the candy cane inn. Not sure when it’ll open back up but I totally recommend if anyone is still looking. :)
The Candy Cane is the best! Free parking, free continental breakfast and they have their own shuttle. Hopefully they don't take any of their awesome amenities away when they reopen.
Thank you Chris, this video has really helped myself and my wife plan our trip from the uk back to Disney for 2023, hopefully can meet you, we both love your videos for the passion, knowledge you put into them.
This was really educational and very interesting Chris, thanks so much for doing this! It's great to know about these other hotels around Disneyland and I hope to stay at one of these PPP recommended hotels in the future. When I visited Disneyland this week, I stayed at The Castle Inn & Suites and it was a great hotel. It had a microwave and a refrigerator in it and the beds were really comfortable and nice. Thank you for helping me plan a great time with this video! You're the best and I plan to use Get Away Today for my future Disneyland visit!
The Desert Palm looks like a great hotel! Chris you mentioned in the video that it is the closest hotel that offers suites and free breakfast. We have stayed in a suite at the Park Place Inn & Suites which offers free breakfast and I believe it is closer in walking distance.....
@@evangelinebedal1497 The Park Place Inn hotel is literally at the light across from the entrance! You can’t get any closer without staying at a Disney hotel on property. Enjoy! 😊
My favorite hotel / motels are near the park , one is Clarion near Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles ! Convention Way , thier staff is so amazing .free breakfast 🍳 just a short walk or Art ride. Guarded parking . Then my other is Motel 6 main gate . If you just going to sleep there it's the best !
Great video! Super glad I found your channel. I binge watch these things! Courtyard Marriott Great water park, Starbucks in lobby + healthy breakfast options, 2 different showers in separate bathroom divisions so you can start or end the day faster, bunk beds safety bar is actually high enough to keep kids safe, AND it’s across the street so it’s super convenient to take mid day naps. Small complaints - no freezer in room, and no Disney channel, but u can login to your Netflix account.
Great video, but I think it needed more on where they are located from the park, (aside from Fairfield which is one of, if not the most expensive along that strip) just to give people an idea the distance to walk to the parks and if they offer a shuttle. Especially for international travellers who may not rely on a car to get around.
Thank you for this, I stayed in an element up here in the Silicon Valley and the room, breakfast, price, and amenities were all pretty amazing. Definitely somewhere I’d consider for my next Disney trip.
So excited to see the Marriott Themepark entrance on your list! We just booked a trip for June and were really impressed with their amenities online and the fact the water park is included with the rate. Not only that but it was much cheaper (for our larger group). Loved the video!
Chris love your videos love your enthusiasm especially I am a fan of your passion... I have a simple question... How many of those hotels have complimentary shuttle service to and from the park .. thank you for taking your time for reading this

Thanks for mentioning Karmel shuttles! I’ve just booked them for when I arrive from Australia in 2 months! I’ve always used Super Shuttle who no longer operate! 👍🏻💗🇦🇺
PS I have stayed at many hotels on and off property at DL, Dessert Palms is so VERY customer service oriented! Once, when my grand daughter and I were doing VidCon and Disney my grand daughter asked me (while at the desk) if she could see the fireworks from the window. The clerk said, "Wait a minute" and *POOF* Upgraded us to a two bedroom with a view of the fireworks> Don't even get me started on their breakfast!!
Fantastic Video! Only thing I would like added would be walking time to the entrance to Disneyland!
These Hotels are fantastic in helping with my “Inn-Dependence!” 😃
What an Inn-credible joke 🙃
Am I planning on going to Disneyland anytime soon? Nope. Did I watch this juat because it's ProvostParkPass? HECK YES!
Yes! Such fun videos, and I'm not going anywhere either, but if I do... bunk beds!
You're the perfect person to do these tours. Super informative and fun. Really well done, Chris and co! 😀
