I would have been bawling as soon as I landed. I also would have been scared to death doing all that alone! What a fantastic & wonderful experience. There were so many little magical touches just in the hotel. I noticed they even had a Mickey head folded napkin next to the beverages in the concierge lounge. It's the little things.

Adam! My husband and I JUST did this trip from the US in Sept, and sat in your very seat on JA!!!! I totally related to every thing you said. We did not do Disney tho, hubby works for a travel company in Boston and were on a tour with them. I cannot tell you how much I am impressed with you taking 3 whole trains, WHAT. We hired a private car, was drained after our 14 hr flight. I can't believe your confidence doing that, and then to have the energy to show us around. We too had hard beds, they are everywhere there. Can't wait for day 2, doing that tomorrow night, awesome report!

A general rule in Japan (Though ask if you are unsure) is that if it's individually wrapped in disposable plastic, you can typically take it with you to keep. Loved this!! It was cool to see the inside of the hotel. As I've been to Tokyo Disney, I was living in Japan at the time, so it was a day trip for me. So never got to see the inside of the hotel when I was a kid!! (This was in '86, right after it opened). Lots of new and old things for me to see again!!! Please be safe Mr. Hattan and have a blast!!

Adam, I am so impressed that someone with anxiety problems, as I've heard you speak about, embarked upon this journey, solo.
I'm an 'oldie,' however I have travelled a lot when I was younger, solo. I too have anxiety issues, now, and when younger, and I don't think I could have done this journey alone.

I really appreciate the breakdown afterwards. Japan is on my to do list but im always so worried i will be so drained by the stress/ anxiety of the day. This gives a realistic understanding of battery usage
