"Endless is the power of the Black Star
Endless its beauty, and endless its light"
One starry night, in a far away land
A father and son walked hand in hand
And far above them, dark yet bright
The Black Star glowed its ominous light
His father told him:
"Endless is the power of the Black Star
Endless its beauty, and endless its light
Shining forever the sleepless night."

Why is this not on Spotify?
This is the greatest music ever
Hey yeah, why's this not on spotify?
Hi there! I have always enjoyed these earlier pieces. Any chances/possibilities you'd be able to get them up on Apple Music?
😷😜
I like how this channel is called musicalBASICS
ikr
+1
Allen Robertson this song is easy to play. But it's impressive because it's fast.
It’s actually musicalbasics
Ant Ant what?
I listen mostly to classical piano and I've often wondered what would happen if one of the great composers had really lost their -shit- composure. No matter how epic some of the great piano works are, there's always an element of constraint. I always wanted to know how a furious drunk Beethoven would play when he finds out his wife has left him for the guy who plays triangle in the orchestra, during his beloved cat's funeral. I think this is it.
This deserves more likes
Beethoven wrote a piece called "Rage over a lost penny". It's something like that.
@@trevorx7872 That's a very good start. Then just scale that one penny rage up to "rage over a lost $100, credit card, driver's license, house keys and mobile phone". Mobile phones must have been eye-wateringly expensive circa 1800.
@@weetabixharry that was the first i phone
Wow
the sound is what matters, who cares that his head is all about the place, at least he's getting into it
Yeah I enjoy seeing how much passion has clearly gone to making this song and if you don't want to see it just look Away and listen...
+r1Ns3 yeah, I totally agree, people are being stupid idiots saying he's jerking his head, it's a way to show passion, come on guys!? Can't we just enjoy the music, moving his head is a way to show passion!
omg yas thank uuuuuu exactly!!! it's so badass
into what? i really don' find the necessity to move your head around, but it's his head, whatever. I'm just saying what's true
+kaltiny1997 well you see, i can tell you dont play an instrument or at least you are no good at it because every single person that connects to their music and plays it to the best of their ability will always move as they play, it could be the whole body but being he is rocking it on a piano he uses his head and it also helps with keeping a beat and gets you in a rhythm. plus who cares hes a badass.
Imagine turning up at a grade 1 piano exam and playing this as your composition piece
I played an easier version of this in school but mentioned his channel.
10/10 Would piss off little children again
How would you pass the rest of the exams for grade 2-12 because they are expecting better than that
"How do you like me NOW Mrs. Johnson?"
My first year of highschool... wow that was 8 years ago wtf... anyways, I played my own piece that's almost on par with this, and I just got pulled aside and given my own room to practice in :) the reactions were funny lmao
I am wondering how that piano has not split in two yet...
ikr😂
+Ramon Wang His pure awesomeness keeps it intact
Ramon Wang passion and hope keep that damn thing together
Flex tape duh
HHHaha
'musicalbasics' YEAH OKAY
wait for the musicaladvanced channel.
kaitlyn zuniga he once replied that his channel is named that because he can bring his musical talents to touch everyone’s basic human emotions
damn thats deep i guess
He is still using techniques derived from the basics. You can't have good music without basic harmony and rhythm.
Dad: you got an A for your exam?
Son: Yes dad! Now can i play?
Dad: Yes son! you can play................. THE PIANO
Asian life
Son : dad I mastered the piano!
Dad: are you a doctor yet?
Son : dad, I'm still going to the third grade
Dad : when I was your age I already did 5 surgerys in a hospital , come back home when you studied medicine
@Darkdes1646 AHAHHHHA
Abram 123123123123123 Son: dad can I have some money.
dad: SON WHY YOU NO DOCTOR?!?
Son: Dad I'm only 13 :(
Dad: Son stop complaining, when I was your age I was 23
Abram Niko Lol
I wish I could like the video twice.
It seems appropriate that your comment has two likes
you can favorite
Dazed Axolotl You can, make another account lol
Bruh, twice is not enough..
it's easy flip it upsidown and hit the dislike then put it normal and hit liek :)
*screams* THIS IS AMAZING BUT MAKE SURE YOU DON'T BREAK THE KEYBOARD AND YOUR FINGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Venus Angelic Thank you! my fingers are quite healthy, appreciate the concern.
+musicalbasics haha sorry! thank you! I'm so glad you actually replied! Omg I love your music!!!
+musicalbasics how old are you
+The sprinting Moose that's your first question to him? -.-
k then.
Thats very creepy...
I've been listening to this for almost a full year now, and it still turns me on
The Boredom Cure same here :D
The Boredom Cure true story
The Boredom Cure I personally don't get an erection from this, but... good job?
How do you not get hard hearing and seeing the raw, intimate action between the hands and the piano?
In that time you can learn this song...
Still one of your top 5 ever. Seriously. If I played this in my neighborhood, they'd all flip their tops. My wife is also a huge fan. She melts everytime I play this song.
I usually don't comment on videos, but I know this one for eight years now and I will never be tired of this. It is really great piece and I really enjoy it every time I listen to it. I hope one day you'll be as famous as Beethoven or Mozart for playing piano like this. It is really amazing! Thank you for sharing it with others. ❤️
Im not tired of this after 11 years-
Not only is this man playing an awesome song, hes jammin out to it as well. the piano's even dancing.
Playing the piano is a good sport
listening to this while studying for med school entrance exam... "I AM GOING TO DO THIS!!!"
thanks for the motivation :) you are a great player
good luck
Did you take it, how'd ya do?
I passed and got accepted :) sry for the late reply
spymatiak lmao look at what the person in front of you said
I'm god dam sure that I seen smoke coming off that piano XD
Haha😂
GODAMNIT no emojies fine :) ;)
I smell ya XD
Tyler Dobson Same
Why is he not a millionaire i dont understand
PrimeHero Why aren't YOU one?
musicalbasics Damn, he pulled it out!
PrimeHero Because Katie Perry, Iggy, Meagan Trainer, and Cyrus lady are "more talented" :( uugghh
Give that piano man a golden crown for gosh's sake.
musicalbasics By they way. You might want to change your username. I'm not sure if this song is "musical basics" hahahha
PrimeHero Because, nowadays, musicians need to sing with auto-tune about sex, drugs and crazy playboy life to make some cash. Real music is actually considered boring!
How in the name of god, could someone dislike this guy....
I wouldn't say I dislike him but I do dislike the way he bobs around while playing.
Why would you worry about that, it's the art of playing the song more than the way he plays it
Many pianists do so to keep beat and tempo
People dislike my videos because they aren't cool enough.
Or, they dislike the video because they turned their screen upside down to upvote it again. :)
dad: you pianist yet?
him: No dad i am 1
dad: call me when you pianist!!!!
him: Calls Dad* Hi dad i made you proud
Chopin: what
Brahms: :0
Beethoven: *shocked*
*Mozart has left the chat*
XD
Beethoven:
hes deaf.
if i ever perform a great train robbery im borrowing this song
thomas riley "borrowing"
+16BeatFuze Ha
+16BeatFuze "train"
Him: *robs* a train
Also him: *borrows* a song
Might as well borrow the train to
I think this is the most passionate classical music I've heard since discovering Beethoven (25 years ago). It literally brought me to tears.
hmm i like 0:00 - 6:29 , but the rest was obviously bad played
He should really work on that
Ikr
poorly played*
What si the point of this comment?
It's called a joke
4:50 that part is just... 😌😍
This is possibly the best song I have heard played on piano. You played it very articulately, powerfully, and practically perfect. Please go on some top talent show and expand your influence and reputation because you have the makings of another Beethoven. Thank you so much for your inspiration, you've no doubt earned an automatic subscribe and like.
Aaron George Thanks for your comment my friend.
lol, no problem from me. Thanks to *you* dude! I am trying to learn it right now! (im not very good at it *:)* )
What other powers come with being Asian?
Being smart ;D
Looking good in school uniforms, a perfect knowledge for technical stuff and disappointed parents, i guess.
+kawaiinyuchuuu I fucking lost it at disappointed parents. You my sir are funny.
+Lucky Johny Roses are Red
Violets are blue
there is allways an asian better than you
Jakob Freyer I thought it went, When you think your best at something, remember there is always an Asian who can do it better.
dude you could be a final fantasy composer. I'm serious you should pitch this song to square enix. I'm certain they would like it especially the end bit :)
This guy is great but he is no where near Nobua Uematsu's (and Yoko Shimamura's) level.
+Dark King I know Yoko Shimomura composed for Super Mario RPG, Mario & Luigi RPGs, Kingdom Hearts, and Xenoblade Chronicles, but I don't think she's ever written for Final Fantasy.
Fae Darkwood *facepalms* she is the one that composed the soundtrack for Final Fantasy XV
+Fae Darkwood
Sorry about that, didnt mean to be rude.
Np its ok.
Dark King Np :)
There wasn't any sheet music on the stand. HOW is it possible to memorize this? Awesome!! 8D
muscle memory
I believe he composed it himself.
Woooooowwwww
Practice, practice and more practice. Not to mention natural ability. Great stuff!
Right!
Am I the only one here thinking that this guy is going to break his keyboard and table? XD
Or break his fingers
Perhaps both.
For real though XD
Or maybe his arms will eventually dislocate. xD
i would say both XD
You know it's good when you get chills down your spine while you are listening to this. This is amazing, blew me away. Mad respect.
This song is famous now among our piano teacher
@Soulful Notes Still found it a little annoying but nice effort. Gl with the channel.
Jesus man Ive seen my teachers play piano but you're literally way above them and I can't believe that keyboard survived for 6 minutes
This guy is brilliant
Excellent playing!
Thanks 123, I'm a big fan of your comment.
May we all bow our heads and cry , for our current generation is lost. May we pray that one lonely child in a band/orchestra/choir class can save us from the modern music , and ascend us to the days of old ... help us MusicalBasics ... please ... we a running out of time , I don't want to do the Whip and Nae Nae at my wedding ...
no matter how outdated a music style is it should be always be respected because of the amount of time and effort one has put in to this art style
0:00 - 0:29
I'm gonna learn this!
0:30 - 6:29
My dreams are ruined, and so is that keyboard
This is the best version of this song anywhere. Well done
That piano is literally shaking in awe of the greatness of His Majestry the Maestro.
Still one of my favorite musical renditions I've ever listened too. Proof that all you need to get the best from an artist is clearing their mind sitting them down somewhere comfortable and letting them go free.
I just can't get over how crazy enthusiasm when playing. It seems comparable to when you get super invested when writing a story and you just can't stop yourself. Amazing once again.
Dudeeeeee, that is sooo good. You know i needed dramatic music, and right now you made my day. YOU NEED TO BE DISCOVER! Listen you are now in my favorite list on Pianists.
1. You
2. Mozart
3. others
Amber Avila You're awesome XD
Why there is no Alkan on this list?
1. musicalbasics
2. Tim Minchin
3. i dunno, mozart or some other old guy
1. musicalbasics
2. Jeff
3. Beehtoven
Animenz :P
I love how he just thrusts himself to the rhythm as the beat drops. It shows that he's really getting his groove on
Absolutely love this piece. I heard it years ago, and finally found it again. Never leaves my head. beautifully written and played.
So I searched up fast paced piano songs and found this. Now im subscribed. Son I kept on looking at songs and I diddent clicked another one until this one was done. It is..... AWESOME!!!
Pig Dragon Soup :O you're awesome!!!
musicalbasics Thanks. But so are you! I sure can't come up with that many songs. I only have three XD
"Fast Piano Music" or something similar was actually the search term having me end hup here some months ago (actually found this channel through this very song and considered it to be epic). Looking forward to what's going to come!
Wow, he's not even referring to any chords or music scores.....mind blowingly talented dude!!!
Dogs: Woof
Cats: Meow
Idiots: 2019?
1999?
1998?
1997?
1996?

Only 26k subs? You deserve way more you're fucking amazing dude.
Zylister it's because he's not uploading minecraft
Really awesome, you're quite talented in the way you arrange, play and combine piano music. Carry on playing and sharing your unique talent with us! :)
You are the best musician/pianist I've ever heard.
I first came across this in 2011 and still remember it to this day
OMG THIS IS SO SO SO INCREDIBLY AMAZING !!!!! I ALMOST CRIED!! THIS TOUCHED ME THE MOST !! I ADDED THIS VIDEO TO MY FAVOURITES IT'S SO AMAZING !!!! ♥♥
agree
Might be the best song ive ever heard
four yeats later and I'm still watching your video. :D
+Diego Chargal me too .. haha
+krys kero :)
What about now? Four more years later?
Goosebumps at 4:33. Wow
I was reading a fanfiction that mentioned this song and had to give it a listen. It really gives off a pissed and heartbroken vibe, like, a kind of pissed and heartbroken only composures who lost their shit and are trying desperately to kill the piano instead of everyone around them can capture into something that can even start to explain it. That would be this song.
His name says
"Musicalbasics" there is nothing basic about this, except the beginning
And the fact that there is a piano there.
tungstenwalrus2 HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHA YOU SO FUNNY!
It's basically awesome :D ok I need to stop watching my own videos.
Lol.....
his parents are still dissapointed in him
Brody Gabes How did you know! >.
musicalbasics lionel, how much time it takes to play with both hands with that sync?
That was awesome!
I’ve been listening from 2012 to 2024 it’s still a banger
There are is no sheet music. This man MEMORIZED this entire song.
Saw the glasses, He really is Arima Kousei :D
ronken14 ikr😂
ronken14 OMG 😂😂😂
ronken14 cc
ronken14
IVE BEEB SEARCHING FOR THIS COMMENT OH MY GOD
ronken14 BEEN* XD
you're hitting those really hard
+Eclapsed That's why they call me the destroyer of pianos...
+musicalbasics It adds a layer to the music, to see the player's interpretation of the piece. Adds in an emotion of sorts, a feel of emergency almost, and sadness near the end.
Great job
+musicalbasics Its cause of the keyboard that its shaking, with a real piano it wouldnt. But its perfect , you play such an epic piece so wonderful,i envy you, well done 👏👏👏👏
See the transition around 4:54, tell me your emotional state didn't change and we'll both know you're lying.
I know it's emotion lol, just wanted to state it
Crazy hand & Master hand back at it again
If you can become much more well known, you can easily become one of the best pianists around. No question.
Piano destroyed!! Woo!!
Great success!
musicalbasics LOLS FOR THAT XD
Beethoven's jaw just fell so hard it split the land.
Mozart's jaw dropped so hard the ground shook more than the piano stand in this video
Beethoven's jaw dropped so hard, they made a reboot of Beethoven with a cat.
Moses' Jaw dropped so hard that it separated the red sea.
The meteor's jaw dropper so hard on the ground it killed all the dinosaurs.
My jaw just dropped so hard that i'm pretty sure it's now dislocated
he’s literally modern beethoven but with even more potential i’m actually enthralled by this dudes music
It's amazing what u can do simply exquisite .
I can't stop listening
I listen to this every day and I love it so much
The hands blurr a lot of times. Truly epic fast piece. Really engaging.
You are probably not gonna see this, but here we go:
7 years ago I was going through a very tough time in my life. Listening to some amazing piano pieces I decided to finally pick up playing the piano again (starting with Amelie, Two Steps from hell, etc.). I eventually stumbled upon this video, and was absolutely mindblown. I was imagining myself playing this and thought to myself: "If one day I can play this piece the way he can, Then I can play the piano!"
Over the years, I played a lot. I would always go into a piece way to difficult for my skills but played it a thousand times over until it finally sounds somewhat decent.
Well, half a year ago I decided to finally give this one a shot, and it's been though. But after playing the whole piece almost at least once every day for months it worked out. I still cannot play it quiet the way you do, not as clean anyway (especially from 2:10 till 3:00, My lower left arm always cramps, seriously, how the hell do you do it man?), but it does sound pretty amazing and I think I am not lying if I say, I am finally good at playing the piano :) Either way, it helped me out greatly to deal with my emotions and use them productively. I owe you a great deal of gratitude for giving me a goal to achieve and for motivating me to get there. You have my sincere gratitude!
(Keep in mind, I am writing this the day that I finally bought an expensive Yamaha, because my old E piano got totally wrecked from practicing, partly by this song in particular :D, I am actually not kidding, but I regret nothing!)
Aw jeez this is such a sweet comment! I love hearing from you and your story. It’s not an easy piece to play but it’s not super hard either, you have to learn proper finger technique and then this piece is easy! I’m so happy you were inspired tho and I’m glad you got a grand piano 🤩🤩🤩
I TOTALLY LOVE THIZ MAN!!! WHAT A GREAT TALENT!!! GUINNESS...
Amazing!! I've been playing piano for 5 years and when I listened to your songs, (ecspessialy this one) I was shocked! You are my inspiration to keep on playing!
Polly Medlin :) glad to know you are inspired!
One of the Majestic Melody i ever Heard.
7 years listening to it, still think it's a masterpiece.
You're a masterpiece made by god
This piece is by far my favorite piano piece I've been a guitarist for around 6 years and a composer for 4. This song alone as well as your playing of it is what's inspiring me to buy my first keyboard and learn it. I've already learned it a bit on a grand piano. Hoping I can figure this out although because considering I'm essentially a year one pianist now and my knowledge of it is only based on my composing as well as guitar knowledge it's gonna be difficult. But anyways, great piece very impressive not often you hear modern compositions turning out this well
dude when i get the money i'm definetly going to try and learn this.
its like, my favorite piece.
I can't wait. I'll help you learn it.
musicalbasics really! awesome. should have it soon. although not sure how much help i would need till i get there. you're an amazing pianist, forgot to mention. i probably won't be doing this at that skill level for a while.
Piano is being crushed by TALENT!!!!!!
man this brings me back
Mind.....Blown...... O.O O.O O.O
I just saw your comment on another video :P
Foozmuck's Outertainment!
i don't think it's that weird if you saw his comment somewhere else. afterall you are both watching this vid which means you two share atleast one common interest and chances are you might share more interests and thus go to some of the same videos and be more likely to see his comment
+Wade Newbury I know. Im just weird like that. Also the video that I saw his comment on was a video that was recommended in the first video I saw him on.
wow so it wasn't even the chance or common interest or anything like what i was talking about. kind of makes me seem a bit foolish but oh well
Wade Newbury your no fool! If it weren't for the fact that I wanted to listen to piano, I wouldn't have seen him, once, or twice.
Damn, isnt the piano broken after u finished the song?
U are so Good! Why arn't u discoverd yet!!!
octavio shock I've already been discovered by great people, which is the people on youtube :)
Im now learning this great song
im 14 and i can already play 0:00- 1:18 ^^
on the other sheet video of course
octavio shock That's wonderful! haha
musicalbasics Do you have exorcises in hand independence if so can you please tell me some of them please, i absolutely suck at hand independence.
I still come back to this amazing video.
all hail the majestic piano destroyer!
Man, I just got the hang of Chopsticks.
One day.
Andrew McAnon :)
I play piano and I listened lots of songs...but I think this is the most beautiful I've ever listened...
THANK YOU BRICKY DADDY FOR INTRODUCING ME TO THIS CHANNEL
Relax bro, look the piano stand is about to fall and break, look at all the vibration and movement, the shockwaves, the power.
AMAZING JOB :D Can you reupload the sheet music?
you can find his music sheet in his www.musicalbasics.com website.
Someone get this man a grand piano
I adore the passion with which he plays, his love for his art and the beautiful music. If you have this much passion for the things you love, then you are free in my eyes
*THIS NEEDS EVEN MORE VIEWS!!!*
How have you not got a hand injury? My hand would probably catch on fire!
Kisara Tendo The only explanation I have is it's because I'm asian.
Well child lots and lots of practice on and off the piano.
musicalbasics Well, that makes sense. Lol
Kisara Tendo The question isn't about hand injuries it is about piano injuries; if I remember correctly he has broken at least one piano because of his epic playing.
***** i've played piano for 5 years and no one in my school can beat my grip xD
Do you feel the pain in your hands when you finish playing these kind of compositions?
By the way, well played!
Not too much :) the more you play, the stronger your fingers get!
Ok. Thanks for the answer! :)
You have no idea how inspiring it is to see someone so into the music. Thank you very much.
One of my favorite songs of all time
That was so amazing even the piano was dancing! ^_^
Why the hell so many comments think it must be somebody from asia. It doesen't really matter.
The only thing that matters it is a very (very) good composed and played piano piece.
I think you can find in evrey country of the world a person who can play very well piano.
Maybe even compose.
It was a joke in case you didn't get it. Have a nice day! :)
I loved listening to piano all my life. I didn't even know piano could be this stunning. I keep playing this over and over.
Now this is music to my ears. The legend says he head butted right through the piano.
