Procedure For Adding A Transponder Key:
1. Insert an existing programmed working chip key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn ignition to the ON position for 5 seconds, then back to OFF position.
3. Remove the existing key and within 5 seconds insert new key and turn it to the ON position for 5 seconds.
4. Turn key OFF, the key is now programmed. Start Car to test key.

Just did this on a 2007 here in 2024.
It was comically fast and easy.
The spare from a AAA club locksmith had stopped working after a battery & starter replacement at the dealership. Thought that the starter had issues again, but remembered that the spare was originally programmed by AAA.
Used the original key and then the replacement and it started immediately all in under 15 seconds from start to finish.

Just bought a 2002 Deville DTS. The owner only had one key and FOB. So I called the local Cadillac dealer about a new key and FOB. They wanted $150 for a new key, FOB, and a $150 service appointment. Not being lazy I went to a local locksmith, he said to buy the key he would cut it, and that the instructions were in my owner's manual. I got an OEM key with the Cadillac logo on EBAY and the #1 OEM FOB on another site. Total cost: The Key was $30, FOB another $35, and the key cut was $7.00. Total $72.00 Saving me $228.00.

This does not work for certain GM cars built outside the states with PK3 key chips. I think you should remove PK3 gen1 Caddy CTS's from your website. Using your instructions disabled all keys, including my original CTS key, for a few moments, with alerts for anti-theft maintenance. "Disabled vehicle starting. Remove key." Was spooky. I’ve done the 5 second method but it seems to not work it will turn the car but as soon as I turn it off and try to turn the car on with the new key it won’t work

What if you don't have the original key
New key started vehicle once using this procedure, however head unit display showed message "starter disabled". New key would not start a second time. How do we get it to keep the programming?

2005 deville. It works but will say security anti theft message when second key is in ignition. Then will have to program again to start ? Original key always works with no security message. Any advice?

for a 2007 cts your website says..1. Insert a new cut key in ignition and turn key to the ON position for 10 minutes and 30 seconds.
2. Within 45 seconds turn the key to OFF and then back to the ON position for 10 minutes and 30 seconds.

The procedure you listed above is for when you have no working keys. The shorter procedure shown in the video requires at least 1 working key
My evil deville locked out the security system after trying to connect a new key. The car doesn't have operational power locks or even accessible locks at all since doors are welded. Any ideas how I can fix this?

I have a two dollars key but I don't think it has the transponder those it works still?
If you try to use a non-transponder key on a transponder car, the car will either not start or start up and then die right away.

I believe for the Canadian vehicles you need two working keys in order to be able to add a new one yourself, otherwise it will require a Dealership or Locksmith
