    You dont need to touch the exhaust at the manifold if its single exhaust. Also, there is no reason to remove the front shaft, the rear shaft will slide out when you pry off the differential donut shock ring with the centre bearing on it. Just remove the 13mm bolts that holds it on and get ready for one to break unless you heat it very well.

    There is a company called JBX that makes center support bearings that you can clamp on without taking the driveshaft off. You have to cut the old bearing off tho, but the rest it’s very easy to install.

    Hi, I was wondering if this might be the cause of a ticking noise coming from midway through my car? It’s an 06 rt Charger, but the charger and 300 are both on the lx body so I figured it’d be the same. The ticking starts once I go over 30 mph I had a mechanic listen to it and he says it the center bearing, but I just thought I’d get a second opinion before I buy a new one. The car doesn’t shake or vibrate, just makes the noise. Thanks.

    • @Dirthauler65
      @Dirthauler65 5 лет назад +1

      No, it doesn't really matter because the drive shaft isn't balanced on the car, it's balanced separately off the vehicle, so realistically, it doesn't matter if you mark it or not or get it in the same spot, it's still balanced. If this was an old school drive shaft and you were replacing the front u joint so you were taking the front yolk off the driveshaft, then it is important to mark the yolk and the shaft and get them back together in the same orientation because when the driveshaft is balanced, they are balanced together as one unit, but like I said, in this case, it's really not important at all.
