    Burger, in America, implies ground meat (mince). If it doesn't have ground meat, then we call it a sandwich instead of a burger.
    The yellow, processed, sliced cheese is pretty much always called American Cheese in America. At places that offer it, you can usually choose between something like cheddar and American, sometimes even swiss.
    Also, I wouldn't do it, but buffalo sauce, sriracha, Louisiana hot sauce, etc., are all really popular on mac and cheese.

    I think the only way an American MIGHT call a chicken sandwich a burger is if the chicken meat was ground. With beef we have both steak sandwiches & hamburgers, & both turkey sandwiches & turkey burgers. It seems to me that what defines a burger for the US is the meat is ground & formed into patties.

    • @JustMe-dc6ks
      @JustMe-dc6ks Месяц назад +8

      Hamburg is a German city. They made the Hamburger steak made of ground beef. Later, Americans put a ground beef patty on bread creating the hamburger sandwich. Hamburger for short. Burger for shorter and more generally including any non-sausage ground meat patty. Then came hamburger buns as a better style of bread for burgers and most other fast food sandwiches. Then Europeans are introduced to hamburgers on hamburger buns and reinterpret the relationship between the two because they didn’t come with a dictionary definition of a burger.

      This level of ignorance is so common on the Internet. Neither India nor any of old world trade routes have anything to do with what you're seeing in this video as spicy. Peppers came exclusively from the American continents and were not found anywhere else on the planet. Ginger and turmeric were available in the old world and can be viewed as having some level of "spice", but capsaicin comes from peppers, which is what most people are consuming when they refer to something as being "spicy" or "hot".
      Everyone's "traditional" spicy cooking started after these new world finds were made available thanks to the Columbian exchange. The world can thank the European settlers for this addition to their cuisine that was so bad it needed to be doused in chemical warfare to make it edible.

    The thing about calling it a "chicken burger":

    the 2 main secrets to good fast food is 1. don't freeze your meat. use chilled but not frozen meat. it helps retain the moisture and flavor and makes it taste fresher.... and use the meat within the first few days... no more than 2 days if possible... 2. keep the veggies chilled but also moist.. this keeps them tasting fresh and the moisture keeps them looking full, not wilted... also use them within the first few days as well....

    It’s funny she liked the honey mustard, bbq, and chick-fil-a sauce. Before they sold it in stores, we had to try and make our own. The closest recipe to come out was 2 parts honey mustard to 1 part bbq sauce, like sweet baby rays.

    I would love to see a series where you guys try out local and regional joints in the areas you are going. You have to have noticed that in many places nearly every third or forth business is some kind of restaurant, cafe, or bar. For instance, I have had burgers and absolute dive bars that smoke high end attempts at the same thing. You go up to what looks like some shady biker bar only to find out that it is owned by three generations of Italians where the grandma is the one cooking in the back. The variety is actually insane. There are people not just in my neighborhood but my actual neighbors that are shocked when I mention food and restaurant option even within walking distance.
    There are at least 100 restaurants or bars that serve food within an easy walking distance from my house including national and international names like McDonalds, BW3, Applebee's, etc. of that 100+, the best wings come from two local bars. They absolutely crush Wing Stop, BW3, etc. for wings... and they're just regular local bars. ...and they are cheaper.
