so you and tom both have some land now, bet you have some interesting conversations lol - good luck! I think you've made the right choice of fields and looking forward to seeing more
The pop up near the house is perfect. It is a nice temporary setup. start getting some money, maybe interest some visitors to become regular visitors and start developing a permanent bigger campsite somewhere else. Amazing vlog orion, high paced and therefore easy to watch and keeps peaking interest. And you seem to be enjoying yourself out there, that's the most important!
I agree 100% I think if we can find the financial kick to go further afield then we will as it’s perfect for everyone then! Appreciate the feedback, was a bit anxious about this one as it feels so different from my usual stuff! I think when the action kicks off, we’ll be able to find a nice balance between new and old so it’s still personal! Thanks :)
@@Gary87 exactly what we’re aiming for! However, this is a bit of a stand out video as there’s just so much to talk about that I couldn’t blend it with my other style of vlogs! As time goes on I’ll hopefully find a nice balance of the two :) thanks for the feedback!
Recommend checking out several Korean camping vloggers and see some of the public camp sites they visit. I like the ones with a close to the ground flat wooden platform that you can pitch a tent on. Making raised platforms would allow you to level a surface on uneven or slopping land, for more tents. They also have a walkable central area with running water to wash dishes with bathrooms. You could also check out the portable event bathroom trailers.
Thanks for the tips! I've watched a few of those ASMR style camping vlogs tbf & gotten a few ideas from their videos! Thats an interesting idea though with raised platforms, even with the slope we had considered like a tiered system for each pitch but it's a lot of work (which means more money!) We have looked into everything toilet related & whilst I didn't go into full detail here (with costings) I will in a future video in the series to explain all of our discoveries! :)
A pop up close the the house might be seem like a ball ache due to privacy, but its the cheapest option to raise some future project revenue. I'd say that the 2 acre field would be a good long term all-year round site (provided there is decent roads for caravans) that could continue to generate revenue year on year and a purpose built building with toilets and showers in the area you highlighted would be perfect, excited to see how your journey goes!
Thanks for the feedback! I think we are leaning towards the 2 acre but it’s just managing costs so it’s affordable to do. Things like building out the track is expensive in itself! Long term it definitely makes so much sense as well, as when we get planning permission for the toilets, we could just move the dream field it’s already connected to!
Compost toilets? So when the pop up is finished just take down the building itself which could be a simple frame. and then just leave the compost??? Very much looking forward to following this project!
Yeah I did suggest this but it’s not very appealing to most campers and from a business perspective we want it to do as well as it can! We have evaluated all toilet options and will discuss on a future video though :) thanks!
You can actually hire shower blocks and toilet blocks they normally have them at festivals basically it’s built on wheels they are like a porta cabin. Might be worth looking into as a temporary solution
Aye! We’ve looked into a few solutions for all things toilet and will be making a more in depth video in the future on those discussions as there as so many options available! Thanks for the feedback :)
You’ve made the right choice but don’t try and take on too much so soon. The lands not going anywhere. I understand you’re excited but just concentrate on your beautiful family first. Make yourselves a little nest and enjoy your first Xmas. We will all help you!!! We are all living your videos. You’ve got this Orion !! X

Awesome! Hopefully when we start doing stuff it’ll be a nice blend of my old content with this new style so it’s not so impersonal. For now I’m just trying things!
Why do I feel like UK has the most restrictions on freedom of any country. Regulations and fees on just about anything. Also, have you thought about doing it "glamping" style with big yurt style tents?
Yeah it’s really overwhelming the shear amount of obstacles you have to overcome to do anything! Glamping is something we’ll be getting into slowly, little by little!
I gifted one to my mum for her birthday, a massive willow tree to be lol. It’s not just about being able to see in though, it’s the areas surrounding you want to be quiet and away from the bustle!
We’re looking into the costing of that, the tents don’t necessarily need electric hookup for now though as it’s not mandatory for camping & it adds to the overall upfront cost to open! Thanks for the feedback :)
