      It looks like the rabbit hutch is wire placed right upon the grass, which would substantially soften it.

Got it cleared brought electric in; culvert and will build a proper green house Spring to live in until the shop is built then a house ... I dont care if im living in a tent come March, I will start beds. The winds are changing self-reliance the rule more than ever.

    Wow I LOVE your homestead! It's laid out so well so that you use every inch. Your processing room was a stroke of genius, I know you must use it a lot. You needed the huge house on it for all those children! I'm betting your place was once headquarters for a much larger farm. I was raised in Michigan mostly in Lapeer County and lived in that area until I was 29. That was 1981 and I had just graduated from Mott Community College Nursing program as an RN. We m9ved to Texas then as my then husband had lost his factory job and was paid a lump sum as they never expected to hire him back. We moved to Texas because I could work as a graduate nurse there and we needed an income as we had a daughter. I'm a Texan now and love the state though I miss having a garden due to long, dry summers and millions of grasshoppers. The only way to have a garden here just about is a greenhouse. I wish you all of God's blessing on your project and much success!

    Hello, another Michigan home bound grower here also. My husband and I bought our farm just outside of our town we were living in June 2020. We have been working our butts off making this farm our own. 3 years here and so much more to get done. We have milking Alpine Dairy Goat's, sheep, gardens, orchard, meat chickens, laying flock. I make goat milk beauty products, we do raw herd shares, we are in the lower south east area. We have put up a small barn, we were full wooded when we bought our property. I just love your lay out and so happy your video showed up on my feed. From one RUclipsr to another. Till next time God Bless

    The wood chips strip the soil of nitrogen. You might want to add blood meal to the plants every few weeks and water in. It will make a huge difference in your health of your plants. You have a beautiful place.

    • @laurakay709
      @laurakay709 Год назад +7

      that is only true if you mix them into the soil. If they are left On Top of the soil, they decompose nicely, creating soil. It takes time and patience, but our garden area was 100% sand, and this is how we are creating topsoil

    Please, please consider the rabbits’ feet.. they really shouldn’t walk directly on the wire because their feet are really sensitive and it hurts them. It’s so easy to hurt animals that don’t complain.. but they feel the pain nonetheless. I realise it’s much easier to have their droppings fall through the holes than have work to do - but you could put boards down for them that are easily removed when it’s time to move them onto new pasture, and just brush the droppings off and replace them. Just an idea for a solution but please do come up with a solution that will protect them from the painful situation that they are currently in.
    Thanks for a wonderful tour of your home ❤

    WoW! Your property is absolutely gorgeous! We actually used to live in Michigan. We lived south of Lansing on my mom and dad's old property. Our oldest son lives there now. We moved to Wilburton, Oklahoma last year at the end of August. We have 12.54 acres down here in Oklahoma at the base of Panola Mountain. I just love the layout of your property. We aren't living on our property at the moment, as I don't have a vehicle right now. However, we will be able to get out there here pretty soon so we can start building up our brand new homestead. We will living off grid on our property once we move onto it.
    I do have a homesteading channel here on RUclips. Please feel free to check it out. It's a fairly new channel. I'll admit, I didn't do much with it when I first started it. However, now I'm working on it all the time. So please check it out. I subscribed to your channel, and I will visiting your channel and watching you guys as you continue to build up and work on your homestead. I hope you will check us out and follow us our homesteading journey as well.
