The love, truth and care you put out into this world is astonishing. I can't thank you enough for being a pioneer for health and really living a more purposeful life. I'm so fortunate that I found you.
What an emotional show. It still amazes me that in 2018 people still are not teaching their children to respect others even if they seem outwardly different and expose them to other cultures. It's only been a short time since I've found your show on youtube but it's really a gem. Thank you for helping us to be healthier not only physically but improving our awareness of self and the world around us. 💓
Shawn, Oh my goodness. I went back in the archives for this one and all I can say is I was driving around with tears streaming down my face. THANK YOU for your willingness to be so open and vulnerable. It is why we all keep coming back to the show. Not only do you educate and entertain, but you also keep it real and that is, as you would say, SO POWERFUL. Much love and continued success. I'm a listener for life!
Shawn you almost made me cry in public, i was listening to your bullying story and it brought back memories of growing up in the south side of Chicago and being bullied because of my skin color. Tough times......great podcast
This show has truly changed my life. I have been listening to all your shows and it has reinforced all that I believe and all that I want to become. Thank you for being . I recommend you to everyone I touch. Be blessed.
The little girl in the clip is too precious! Babygirl you are BEE-YOU-TEE-FULL and never think any less! Thank you Shaun for always adding value! It made me think of my daughter when I saw this! Very teary-eyed right now!
It is also part of my mission to make us love each other more! and go beyond what we see and go and connect about what we feel and what we are. Sean I send you my love from France and I just want to thank you for your knowledge, your love, your actions and your contribution for a better world. I am amazed about how human beings are able of such greatness and at the same time capable of the most horific things possible. And it all start with self love because whan we look within, everything changes. I am so happy to have found you as a mentor on my path for a better me.
Wow that was really heavy. I had to pull over in my car while you were speaking about your experience. I appreciate how vulnerable you were, that takes courage. I wish that before people open their mouths they would think about how this is going to affect someone's life not just in the present but in the future; 20, 30 even 40 years later. I'm so sorry that that happened to you. Thank you for speaking about it so honestly.
Truly inspirational Shawn. The world is a better place because of people like you. Your show is amazing, and I continue to learn from you every time i press play on your podcast or video.
I send you so much love Shawn. You are such a beautiful human and this planet is so lucky to have you. The work you do, the energy you put in, the pure heart, humor and intention behind all of it. Thank you.
I didn’t give this episode a chance and for some reason February 2019 just before the Valentine holiday I decided to give it a listen.I’m so glad I did This episode hurt a little bit but it was needed it’s important your purpose is important thank you so glad I too also found you.Because of your dedication and sacrifice has made a difference in my life and You made a difference Mr ShawnThank you !
Man Shawnnnn :) The waterfalls flowed on this video lol. I cried so hard and it really was amazing to touch such a deep part of my heart. Video's like this are what makes youtube and social media such a gift. Yes, of course there is a dark side to it, like all things, but I wouldn't trade any of it for the gift of being able to connect with people like you who touch our hearts. :) You really make such a difference in my life. I have a few people who I listen to every morning, I alternate between them and The Model Health show and that daily reminder of my worth and seeing what's possible is so special to me. Thank you for sharing yourself with us and being vulnerable and comfortable enough to be yourself. Much love always :)
This is so real!!! My friend keep up the great work that you’re doing! Thank you so much for being vulnerable and humble. It’s so sad how people can hurt other people. Many are ignorant and that ignorance must be exposed. It must really talked about. That means going deeper into history and how that created yours and everyone else’s experiences... even their thought process.
Shawn, I don't normally comment on videos, but I have to say, thank you very much for this; for your authenticity, for the value you bring, and as always, for the information you share🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great show as usual! Thanks a lot for sharing your story! More importantly, thanks 6for allowing yourself to show vulnerability live on camera. As men, most of us learn how to hide our deep feelings behind our 'game face' (from a very young age). Suppressing our feelings is a lack of self-love. I have struggled a lot with the fear of coming across as arrogant. As a result, I stifled myself and didn't shine my light fully...self-sabotage. Thankfully, I have since chosen the path of self-love. It is a beautiful journey. Keep up your great work! I watch your show all the way from Switzerland. Blessings to you my brother!
Thank you for this episode. I have daughters and it’s not until recently I realised self love is so important. I want them to grow up loving themselves so they can have a beautiful life.
Freaking LOVE YOU, BROTHER! We are on the same mission! I totally feel you 111%! I am so honored to have stumbled across your videos, I am utterly inspired! Thank you, thank YOU, THANK YOU.
I appreciate this from a different perspective... as a mom of a mixed-race teen boy. You have really opened my eyes to some of the issues he must face. You really pointed out the importance of teaching our children self-love (as well as ourselves).
Powerful Episode. Thank You for opening us up to understanding how important Self Love and Care is when it comes to health. Not many people are talking about this. We are so fixated on what foods to eat and how much exercise to do, when our demons are swallowing us up every day, preventing that optimal lifestyle that we all desperately seek. THANK You for your vulnerability and passion. Thank You for being real, always, despite how large and powerful your platform is. You change my life with every episode.
I completely relate to that comparison thing. Growing up I also had many similar experiences of kids or people making fun or bullying me because of how I looked. As a kid this was very confusing. And at some point I even wished I looked different. This one of the reasons I never liked the labeling of "black" and "white". We as humans are so much more than just a color. Thank you Shawn for sharing your experience with the world. Bless!
Thank you for sharing about your experience as a mixed child. My son is mixed so it is important for me to hear your experience. Your courage is appreciated!
I appreciate the content you provide through your podcasts , especially today, I think it's transcontinental , so I thank you ,and I thought I should write this comment to express my gratitude for your generosity , the respect you offer to your audience ,you helped me through difficult times to stay positive.
From day one this show continues move me mentally. I identify with that beautiful young lady. I unfortunately heard the opposite from our people. Example, I was called Hi Yellow often through grade school. Sad...
WOW thank you! Much like yourself, I encountered the same type of racism that you did as a child. As a light-skinned Black and Puerto Rican child, in a predominately Black area (East New York, Brooklyn) I was whipped is a telephone pole wire, jumped by my classmates and so on, because they all thought I was White (elementary school). A couple of years later when my mother and I moved into a better area, all the White people didn't associate with me, because they knew I wasn't White. Thank you for sharing.
You're speaking my language! This was so GOOD & insightful. Great job highlighting our blind spots in self love. We ALL need to hear this 🙏💕 Thanks for the prep before meeting a client :)
Agree self love respect Listening now and makes perfect sense I suffer from low self esteem Due to skin issues and health issues And I’ve allowed toxic relationship with a bad person Self love def is important and taking care of yourself wow spot on
So blown away with your content bro!! Thank you for sharing your story so honestly you are such an inspiration!! Since I first came across your channel I was immediately impacted by your presence and energy that you radiate!!! Keep shinning big bro Thank you for being who you are
You are so beautiful inside and out Shawn thank you so much for all that you share in all of the vulnerability that you risk with us. You may look at my picture with my dog and not know that I am you and you are me. My father is black and my mother is white and every word you spoke was the life that I lived including having somebody come up to Maywood never seen before and punch me in my face and I’m a girl or was then. now I’m a woman.
Because you aren't different. You're a normal guy, with your own type of genes combination. Look, i'm portuguese, and here, in Portugal, everyone is completly different in skin colour or morfology. My mother's parents are 100% white and green eyes, and half of their children (out of 7) look dark skinned and brown eyes. Portugal have the bigest genes variety of the world. So we are use to be as different as possible, even within our own family. I feel so sad when i hear about what's going on in developped societys as USA, when it comes to differences tolerance. I hope things change. And i wich you all the happyness.
How is the little girl bullied? The mom puts words in her mouth. The girl just doesn't understand why she is the color she is. The kids asking her those questions are in the same mentality - just simple you are different from me - why? Same thing as boys vs girls - same body different parts. Its sad that parents make a huge deal out their own prejudice and fears. Its a simple answer - pigmentation. Not race.
The love, truth and care you put out into this world is astonishing. I can't thank you enough for being a pioneer for health and really living a more purposeful life. I'm so fortunate that I found you.
I 2nd that!
Chadwick Estey well said, he really has a great impact.
