Hello, Greetings from Germany to you 🙂 You won't believe me but we have ours since 1996 (and used to have the formerly model before since the 1980ies) and it works and works and works ... The Bosch compact mixer is always worth buying it especially for beginners for it is so simple to use and you do not have to study a thick manual for ages ... I recommanded it to my sister-in-law as she did not have a mixer before and she got one and is very pleased with it as well. Many greetings and best wishes to you from Philipp
@@GrainsInSmallPlaces Thank you very much for your reply. I sometimes make "Dampfnudeln" ("damp noodles") a kind of yeast balls boiled in hot milk (and served with custard and all kinds of fruit compotes). The mixer makes a wonderful yeast dough - if you are interested in the recipe I can give it to you and you can make a video of it showing the Bosch Mixer making a wonderful yeast dough for a delicious sweet Bavarian dish 🙂 All the best to you, Philipp
I love my Bosch compact. It's the BEST! I have all the accessories you have including the meat grinder. I bought that on eBay. It's hard to find. Thanks for sharing 🙂.... Bosch 6lbs is so much better than KA 26lbs. I got rid of my KA and I could not go back. I can make three 2lb loaves of bread in the Bosch compact. I love that I can store it and you are right it out performs the KA. Two thumbs up.
@@GrainsInSmallPlaces they don't make the meat grinder attachment anymore but you can find them on eBay. I really love that attachment. It works very well like everything Bosch does. ❤️
Well… I’m gonna trust you. You made it sound so good and I have been looking for a mixer to make smaller batches of pizza dough (2 - 3 pounds of flour at a time ). Your great bundle deal was gone but got a refurbished unit by itself for 99. with same warranty and return policy. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the review.
So far I have been making 39 ounces of 64% hydration pizza dough once a week since getting it and it works great. Do you think the artiste is better for pizza dough? And would it work for 39 ounces or is it too big?
I have that exact same mixer but without any of the attachments. I don't have the metal bowl either. But it works well for what I have wanted to use it for. Oh, and I have used the plastic bowl to whip egg whites several times and they turned out great despite the fact that every cooking/baking channel says to never whip egg whites in a plastic bowl.
I've used my Bosch Universal (old style) for over 20 years without a hitch and it still performs like new. However I don't make as much bread as I used to and decided to try a Compact and wow it's impressive. Who'da thunk such a tiny light mixer could perform so well. It easily handles 7-8 cups of flour effortlessly and it's so easy to clean. I got the blender with mine as well but haven't used it, just like I've never used the blender attachment for my universal. Since I got the compact I haven't used my Universal at all. I think I will go for the slicer/shredder attachment though as we'd use that.
Yes! So true! a wonderful mixer, lightweight, easy to use, and not too expensive! Sadly Bosch decided to discontinue it! I hope they bring it back! It really is a great mixer!
I have the Nutrimill Artiste which I bought refurbished from Nutrimill. While it works fine, it's still quite large and I don't like that the beater/dough hooks work from the center of the bowl. I've pondered the compact, since it's discontinued, decided to bite the bullet. I purchased a refurb from Nutrimill. It was $99 but doesn't include the blender or shredding disks. But I do not need those. You can purchased those as refurb attachments. Also there is a coupon code to save 10%, Nutrimill10. I think I will be more likely to use the compact.
I just watched a video about the Bosch compact mixer where did you get yours? the video was great keep up the good work I like your channel a lot very informative.
Thank you so much! I got mine directly from Nutrimill, but they are discontinued now. So, as far as I know they only places to get one are form thrift stores, market place, or ebay if any pop up. It is a fantastic mixer ! 😊
Thanks for your review. I just bought the mashine yesterday evening for €59.90 (I live in Germany) it was actually a bit of a spontaneous buy, but i was thinking "hey what the hell, it's a Bosch" and of course they normally cost more like €149 -€189 here. I've been looking into getting a mixer for ages now because kneading bread is annoying but I was put off buy the prices of some of them for basically the one function that I want. I was also a bit worried if the motor is powerful enough. You put my mind at ease with your video thank you. Oh I've just looked on line I'll definitely be getting the metal bowl and I've also seen that there's an ice cream maker attachment so that's a definite.
Yay! I am so glad my review was helpful! You got a nice deal! I am not sure if my discount code will work in Germany or not, but worth a shot! Here is my link for the metal bowl, you might be able to use the coupon code: Grainy for a discount. But, that might only be in the USA. collabs.shop/9meyry
The slicer will just grate it once, so we mainly use it for cheese, and grating carrots. We don't have the food processor attachment, but it looks like you can use it to process food more finely, rough chop, and use for wetter ingredients. To make salsa & guac, grid like a blender for dried bread & graham cracker crumbs, or even make biscuit dough.
I have this mixer but I learned things about this mixer that I didn't know! Thanks How many loaves of bread have you made I'm this mixer? I've only made 2 lbs of dough so far.
Bought mine (mixer only) for $80 refurb. last year. I ended up with new bec they didn’t package the refurb properly and it had several cracks. I did a pile of research prior to deciding on this. Due to my medical diet, I just used it first time tonight (tahini chocolate chip cookies-nope, shouldn’t be eating them). It was great. And your review is great. Question: does anyone have the food processor? How is it? Is the slicer grater necessary if you have the processor?
Nice score! I wish they still sold these, but they have been discontinued. I hope they bring them back in the future. I do not have the food processor, just the slicer. I like the slicer for cheese, and veggies, etc. I wish I could help on the processor, but I have never tried it. Let me know if you end up getting it!
@@GrainsInSmallPlacesI just received the food processor and the blender, both refurbs. Nutrimill just asked me to video the issues, because cannot attach either! Edit: I see from your video that they failed to send the bottom cuff of the blender, for one thing.
I have a discontinued model that has 7 speeds and automatically parks the paddle on its own. Found it at a thrift store for $12. I don't know why they stopped selling it. There are even more advanced models available in Europe that have an integrated scale and digital controls. I wish they would bring them out here. I have a bigger Bosch Solitaire that's pretty much the same. That thing has a built-in cutoff timer with digital countdown. The ones that are available now are a step backwards with nothing but an analog dial.
Thank you! sadly, I just got word from the manufacturer that this mixer is now discontinued, and sold out. Now only a few left on Amazon. 😥 amzn.to/3W7nmEN
