What a radical build. 800 -1200 to the rear wheels. He is my kinda guy, doesn't let grass grow under his feet. A real head turner. I used to live about a mile from Beech Bend Dragstrip I was at every event put on there. If the gates were open I was there.

My 58 had the same primer paint but had the lowly 6 in it. My wife would take my daughter to school in it,no wipers almost no anything, we called it nightmare,wish I had it back. Sweet truck you have!

some drag racers will mount the ignition coils off the engine because they want to pop off the valve covers easier. they can tighten or loosen up the valvetrain to change the valve lift, and thus duration, and decide if they have the right cam grind or need to change it because the vehicle is launching poorly or not having the top end charge they want, etc.

Ford with LS is like going to a Dodgers game with a Tampa Rays cap! Love seeing the LS but in GM cars only not Fords…. (just being honest)
It's a hot rod. Hot rods were never original nor brand specific from day one. Back in the late 1940s when Cadillac and Oldsmobile started manufacturing overhead valve V8 engines making more horsepower stock than full race Ford flathead V8s. They ended up in everything from Ford Model Ts and 32-40 Fords.. When Chevrolet debuted the small block V8 in 1955, hot rodding and racing changed forever and those engines ended up in the same early Fords previously mentioned..
@@sd455pontiac Fair enough….and the Ford 9inch goes in everything too… I understand ya it gets mixed up..but just prefer LS engines in GM only! Same for Mopars
I grew up around hotrods where you did what it took to make it faster and didn’t care about mixing manufacturers like this. I have 0 purity
I agree with you, it's definitely a cool truck but I guess they had to go with a cheaper engine set up.
@@ONTHEEDGEFRED My point is more when someone goes to a junk yard to get the engine or even buy a brand new crate motor why use a LS in a Ford? They have options right? Unless someone had the LS in the garage and used it to save money? In my opinion seems everyone goes LS no matter what! (Yes I know Hot Rods are built with what ever go fast bits you can find, but that was in the 50s and 60s...today I doubt LS is the only engine available and it's not the cheapest by a long shot)

What are you talking about? Hydraulics came long before bags. We switched to bags for the ride quality. And with the quick up feature, you dont have to wait for it to lift like we did in the beginning
