Take the Guess Work Out of Natural Hair Care. ~ Facts and, "Not So" Common Sense to Longer, Thicker, Healthier Hair.
I just want you to know that there is no reason for me to search any longer for how to care for my hair because you are so awesome at explaining it all!!
Allison M Isn’t she! ♥️♥️
Allison M I wish I has discovered her sooner. Its been a month with her and shes amazing
Can u use flaxseed oil instead of gel
4tbsp aloe era gel
1tbsp coconut oil
1/2tbsp glycerine
2tbsp flax seed gel
2-3 drops essential oil
Keyword is “control”
I add in avocado, coconut milk, honey, and carrier oils to any conditioner to create a deep treatment hair mask. Leaves my hair soft, tangle free, moisturized, bouncy, shiny, and smelling amazing. I like having control over what I put in my body and on my body. Thanks for sharing.
Doesnt anyone find coconut oil to be a drying oil?
I do. They are penetrating oils..meaning they enter the hair strand versus others that coat and seal. The "drying" effect is even more apparent if you have low porosity hair. Also oils only lubricate, some seal, condition and nourish the hair..water is the only moisturizer.
Omg it sucks so bad in my hair. I thought it really was just me.
its drys my hair out as well.. it took me a while to find out that its because im protein sensitive.. and i also have loww porosity hair. However! Olive oil and i are besties!
My hair HATES it!
true my hair hates it, hopefully other oils help it out
I started making my own leave-in condish at home as well. The ingredients on commercial leave-ins are the same ones I already have in my pantry anyways. Flax seed gel is everything for retaining moisture and, combined with the glycerin.. Oh man!! My hair stays hydrated for longer.
Gigi Face Glam Hi! Do you use a preservative in your products?
@@ayoogunleye5507 vitamin e is a great preservative
@@solgodis9999 would a tablespoon of Vitamin E be enough?
@@sweettea3879 well depends on the amount if you're making a lot then yes if not i normallu do 2 dropper full of vitamin e oil, you really don't even need that much
Also lavender oil, ylang ylang tea tree peppermint are all good preservative along with grapeseed extract all can be found Amazon or discount stores
No, with its acid pH and small amount there's no need to add preservatives just store the portion you don't use in the refrigerator.
Hey. I've been following your pH recommendations, but my styling cream measure around 6 and my 4c hair seems to love it. I know you recommend 3.5-4. When I bring the pH level down using Aloe, my hair feels hard. Will the styling cream eventually damage my hair. Btw, I use the L.O.C method.
How long can it last in the refrigerator please?
Can you recommend a safe preservative please. I live in Nigeria, and we don't have stable supply of electricity. I really need it. Please help me
I just finished applying this leave-in and instantly my hair was moisturized and super soft. This has never happened before since I've been natural. It even tamed my frizzy halo. Thank you o much GreenBeauty!! I can't wait to try the products I ordered from your site.
Rochelle Serrel how often shd we use it n for how long to leave it in hair?
Love this channel wish I had come here at the beginning of my journey. Thanks for empowering us!
can you make a video about preservatives
+mango Hey, great idea ! Thanks :-)
I was hair thinking about that yesterday!!
Question: I’ve tried testing my creamy conditioners with ph testing strips, but they don’t work. Can you recommend anything for testing oil and water emulsion products’ ph? Thanks in advance!
Question!!! How long can i keep this leave in conditioner after first day of use. Can preservatives be added to it for it to last long? Thanks for your reply😘
Without a preservative it will last for 3 days or so. And yes, you can add any water based preservative of your choice
Thanks Greenbeauty, just the answer i needed,,,, loosing hair badly lately
My hair only likes this leave in. I’ve tried the grease and water method. Even tried the flaxseed gel only but I need the oils, glycerin, and aloe Vera mixed in. AND NO FLAKES! I love this leave in, thanks for recommending it.
not every oil is good to use it as a leaving, coconut oil is good as a moisturizer but as a leaving, it can toast your hair after sun exposure. jojoba and olive oil don't toast hair.
Jojoba oil is the only oil I'll leave in my hair these days! It's the truth!
Yeah I use fractionated coconut oil and it's SO MUCH better for numerous reasons. Online it's very affordable.
Coconut oil is for deep conditioning then wash out. Too heavy for leave in. A lighter oil is best, unless fractionation bc it makes molecules smaller but you might want to stick with oils not messed with in a lab. But do what works for you
What if you are a low porosity natural like myself who doesn't take well to strengtheners such as coconut oil, flaxseed or aloe vera gel?-all of which I have tried and have left my hair feeling hard. Do you have any other alternative leave-ins? Also, how important are products in the 4-5.5 range for someone like myself who struggles with moisture retention seeing as acidic products cause the cuticles to close; which is the opposite of what I want to have happen?
Can I use aloe juice instead? I prefer a leave in spray. Also, is it okay to use apple cider vinegar in a leave-in? I have high porosity hair.
Hey Nicole. Have you heard about okra as hair gel? I have seen this on RUclips but I dont know if okra is damaging to the hair. What are your thoughts.
Okra gel is a MUST have for me. Ever since I tried it, I have NEVER been without it ever since!
OMG...
No problem. Yes, we deliver to Portugal. You can process your order on the website. But, the shipping cost is slightly cheaper if you process it through me. Send an email with the items you would like to order and your complete address to support@greenbeautyproducts.us
why no more than two essential oils? Very informative channel btw =D
Hello. I was curious on your take is, for using sea salt in our hair to help define curls. I've been seeing quite a few videos but I, thought salt in your hair was a very bad thing. What do you know about this? Seems kind of crazy to me.
Tasha & Von J salt dries hair quite a bit, and has a pH of about 5.5 if combined with water. It would cause your curl pattern to loosen slightly which may give the _appearance_ of curl definition, but may cause damage to the hair. As our hair likes a slightly more acidic environment than that and struggles to retain moisture, I wouldn’t think it’d be a good idea to use it.
Just an educated opinion- use or discard as you please. 😊
You have the perfect pitch speaking voice and you stay on topic. You are fabulous. You should teach everyone how to communicate with others and not be annoying. God bless you 🙏.
😂 thank you 🙏🏾
Hi:), is possible for me to replace the glycerin with something else or leave it out all together
KimADay how do make it plz and how long u leave it plz?
honey
Amazing! Wish I found your channel sooner.
OMG I can't believe this video is more than 7yrs 9ld and 8 missed it. Great video 😘
4tbsp of Aloe Vera gel, 1Tbsp of coconut oil, 1/2 of glycerine, 2Tbsp of flax seed recipe, 2 to 3 drops of any essential oil
Hello GreenBeauty, I was wondering what are the benefits of adding a leave in conditioner to your hair routine and do you recommend using it before, after or without a pomade or cream? I'm hoping to try something different for my daughter's hair.
How long does this leave in, last and does it need to be refrigerated?
Tasha & Von J
Yes
I would refrigerate it; aloe vera smells terrible if left out for awhile. 💅
MyNaturalSistas recommended your channel and I'm so glad she did! You're awesome and exactly what I've been looking for. Ive been natural for 4 years but I still struggle to keep my hair healthy and to achieve longer lengths. ThanksGurl!
Can you do a video on oils that makes your hair smell good? It has been on my mind for a while.
glycerin puffs up my hair thus opening my cuticle up?
What should i do if the ph isn't right?
I'm in Accra
please where can I get some of your products to buy?
I am confused... how long will this keep well in the fridge?
Aloe Gera gel or juice cause yours was very liquid, making me think juice. Gel is thick and gel like.
what are your thoughts on the wash and go? Haven't seen the topic mentioned on your channel. Do you do them at all? Thanks! :)
good question!
I absolutely love this channel! Very informative and educative, please keep doing what you do, we appreciate having you in the natural hair community!
I wonder if I can put this in a spray bottle? Or would it be too thick?
I tried this, and I love it!! I tried it after the Greenbeauty deep protein treatment. My hair looked shiny and moisturized. My twist out is the best I have had!! Thanks so much!
Can u use aloe Vera gel instead of juice..... Mam.........
Hi I am new to your channel and it is full of wonderful information and I thank you so much for all of your knowledge I have been natural for 17 month and I have been trying to put natural things in my hair only as much as possible I am using the wen products right now and I love them I want to try you leave in conditioner I see that you use glycerine as one of your ingredients is it vegetable glycerin or pure glycerine
Hi. Having some trouble with hair thinning around the edges because of the twist outs...what do u suggest to help it grow back? Thanks!
Hello Sis! Thank you for sharing all the goodness of a natural hair journey with us. Would you please share if you think it’s a good idea or not to wear a wig while treating areas of alopecia underneath to a restored state of health? I welcome any thoughts you have to share. Thank you in advance.
Hey
Can you this on dreads, or do have a one for dreads? Thanks for any information.
plz where can I store this product?, in fridge or outside the fridge and what's the life span please. plz I'll also like you to make a video on how to preserve homemade hair products great video thanks.
It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week b/c it does not have any preservatives in it. The portion is small b/c its meant for a one time use.
P.s. can you please show us how to make your flaxseed gel SOON please?!!! I'n eager to get started! I make my own version, but I'm intrigued to know how you do yours, thank you ! And how long does this last please?
Thank you so much! I love your channel, i have one question, do we have to seal in the moisture with a oil after applying that leave in? Thank youu
To piggyback off of @TheLTNO I also have LoPo hair and have been looking for an alternative to a Aloe Vera Juice/Gel. Would Aloe oil be better? Is a higher pH such as 6 better for LiPo hair?
Thank you for the great informative vids! Please keep them coming....
Where have you been ❤
I’ll be back in November 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
hey green beauty... do u think you can do a video on aloe vera powder?... how it works and how to use it...
Thanks again
How long will this keep in fridge for and also how often do you use this Thank-you
Love your videos
Ill be uploading the hair gel video this week.
I just discovered your channel and Green Beauty you are a breath of fresh air 😃. My sisters and I love how knowledgeable and calm you are. I make my own flaxseed gel which my hair lives for lol but can you make a video on homemade aloe vera gel? We'd greatly appreciate it!
What other oil can i use other than coconut oil ? My Hair gets so dry when I use this oil in my hair
Pretty sure any other oil would work. My best recommendation is Jojoba, and Argan Oil. They are my favorite oils in my pantry! I use them every week!
How long will it last if I make my own?
I usually make just enough for a one time use.
I cannot wait to try this recipe! I've been trying to get around to making my own flaxseed gel, but I haven't found the time. I can't wait to see your future vids, and keep up the good work Green Beauty... we really appreciate it! : )
Is this the same as the ph stabilizing spritz?
My hair loves the Kimmaytube leave in recipe with KCKT
in the video you said that your flaxseed gel recipe was coming soon.....do you still plan to make this video?
It made my hair OILY😩
Is it mandatory to use a leave in conditioner could I just deep condition my hair. My hair regime is before I was my hair I do an onion juice treatment..... than I shampoo my hair than I condition my hair and do an avc rinse and than I would follow up with a deep conditioner..... I know some people do all of this including a diy conditioner and detangler is that considered too much manipulation
I will be making this for sure. nice video
💚💚
💚💚
Can you use this with a heat protectant and then blow-dry?
Is it a leave in conditioner
Great video! I'll be trying this leave in conditioner as soon as you release your version of how to make flaxseed gel. I so wanted to take advantage of your online store's 15% off offer, but I'm not on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, hoping you'll be offering the coupon code here on RUclips as well real soon.
Is it safe to mix lemon juice and aloe vera gel as a leave in applied immediately after washing hair...hypothetically speaking? 😅
So informative thanks. Would you use this leave in before your heat regimen?
What is a good alternative to coconut oil?
Jojoba, Avacado, and Olive Oil seem to replace coconut oil's moisture for me. They work quite well, Argan Oil as well, super moisturizing
do you need aloe Vera gel ?
No problem .... My hair loves it as well :-)
Just made the leave-in! Will update my thoughts in two days when it’s time to use it~
How did it go?
L8ter Ivy an update would be much appreciated
Don't you find it a bit worrying to use tea in hair because of Tannic Acid that binds with iron and protein? It's why we wait 30 min. before or after eating to drink tea. Wouldn't that robs us from the nutrition from the other ingredients? Tannic acid is a specific form of tannin, a type of polyphenol. Its weak acidity is due to the numerous phenol groups in the structure. I think that the essential oils of the tea or herb is better distilled to it's pure form, don't you think?
What about low porosity hair? Which oil can we use instead of coconut oil? And what can I use instead of glycerin?
Just watched this video.. thanks so much...but I do want to know can it be use in the instead of LOC and LCO and LO or LC method by you.... because this What have being doing.. being new in natural hair journey?
LOC, LCO, LO, and LC are not a must. If you find that this recipe keeps your hair moisturized and in good conditioner then keep using it. :-)
GreenBeauty thanks...
How do you preserve this leave in conditioner. Do I put it in the refrigerator? or I can just leave it on my bathroom beauty counter and use it daily?
Good morning,
thanks a lot for this video, I was desesperate about my research on the subject. I wanted to know, my hair don't like coconut oil, is there à other ingredient for it ?
Thanks a lot for your beautiful work 😀
So much NATURAL information in one place THANKYOUUUU @greenbeauty 💚🤗
Where do you buy your glycerin?? Also can I use this with your real protein treatment since this mixture is a conditioner?
I love love your Chanel I wish I would have known about it sooner. Do you use glycerin only during the winter time or all year around? I have seen that some with natural hair say they add it to there winter hair regimen. Does it matter? And where can I fine glycerin? I would like to give it a try.
I want to use this as a leave in then her gel for my finger wave.
please how long can this leave-in conditioner be stored
The portion size is small b/c its meant for a one time use. It has no preservatives in it so I do not recommend storing it.
Can I add a persevative in it for shelf life and if so how long do you recommend it will last
OK. I made the LI conditioner and it is great! I cleaned my hair with a clay mask first, henna for color, LI and my homemade oil, and two strand twists .My strands were singing. I honestly don’t see any point in me purchasing LI’s my hair seems to love this stuff and I enjoy making it. Thanks!
@GreenBeauty
Thanks for this recipe.
What can we use to substitute for the coconut oil??
hi green beauty, are you able to recommend a product line out on the market right now that is ph balanced and for low porosity hair and with a protein moisture balanced. from your videos I gather that those are the most important when making up a hair care regimen. thanks
I made my own flax seed gel it didn't last something went wrong it stink &some thing dried out my hair had it breaking off for being so dry the gel went bad in 3 days I poured it out
what if I can not get Flaxseed Gel what should i do and does the aloe vera has to be in the gel form ?
I like sweet smelling products. which essential oils to you recommend that would be ok to put in my own leave in conditioner?
Thank you!!! Does it work on fine thin hair? I’m not lucky with leave in conditioners but I still want to try
this isn't very thick. I guess it doesn't matter though.
I wish I could purchase you products but the international shipping is putting me off could you try to get them on Amazon?
Yes I’ve purchased them n amazon
Is there going to be a 4th of July sle this year!!? *fingers crossed*
Have you used fresh aloe vera juice and flax seed gel...how to preserve the product for long period
When I make flax seed gel I usually either just make enough for one use or I store in in the frig for just one week. If you want to ass a preservative, search for a preservative that is water soluble.
GreenBeauty ..thanks for your reply...your voice is amazing...rock ahead
Hey I would also love to make a leave in conditioner but could u replace the alie vera gel with rose or orange blossom water?
Does this leave-in need to to refrigerated or good bad? because of the flaxseed &/or the Aloe Vera
please the aloe and the glycerin is it good for low porosity hair
Yes, this recipe works well for both low and high porosity hair
GreenBeauty thanks dear
Hi there. Why is it bad to use more than 2 essential oils?
I love this recipe but I have dreadlocks. Is there an ingredient I can leave out to eliminate the detangling effect ?
is there an alternative for the aloe vera or can i leave it out? I'm allergic?
How about shelflife
Can you use the aloe vera flesh you get from the plant instead of the bottled aloe vera gel.please
how long does this last before it expires
