Catch this movie any way you can. It's a fine cynical thriller about......well I won't spoil it. Gabriel Byrne had the qualities for a successful leading man, but he seemed to choose a wide variety of character roles instead, often in independently produced films. I'm Irish, so I was familiar with the cast and that specific British feel to the characters and story. I don't know if Americans will necessarily understand all of the details, just as we don't always know the context for everything in American political thrillers. I have read that there is an alternative ending for the American release, which is very different from the UK/European release.
That's the way it's spelled in America, and that's the title of the movie in America. Language evolves over the centuries. Just like how people in Britain now spell it "old" instead of "olde." Oh, and by the way, you're posting your comments on the Internet, which was invented mostly by Americans.
Its an excellent Film. I am waiting for it to be released in Blu-Ray.
Great spy thriller. Gabriel Burn

Way to throw a blanket statement over 311 million+ different people, simply because of the way defense is spelled over here.
