It's been well documented that Ace wanted to go his own way and do his own thing. So you can't be too hard on Gene and Paul for that. It's good to see Ace finally is putting out a new album, Outer Space sounds great! It's also great to still see Kiss alive and well. I think it's possible to be a fan of both without taking sides or being negative.
People should think of it as a fresh start, a new beginning.This could be the album where Thayer can make his mark with kiss and where Eric Singer can show his true colors.
I think this sounds awesome. Everyone is complaining that it doesn't sound like 70s KISS. Really it does sound like 70s Kiss...it is just the production is not 70s. Listen carefully and you hear Watching You and 100,000 Years kind of writing style here. No it is not exact just similar. So maybe what you 70s KISS fans want is for KISS to record like the 70s.
Good comments mate, and it is a good album and i love the extras on the cd (live in argentina and the classic kiss cd).... however, ive just listened to DYNASTY and the new album doesnt come close to it, so when the band and certain people in the media go on about it being the best kiss record in 30 years, well i'm afraid it simply isnt. Hey, but who cares they have given us some of the greatest rock licks of all time and hopefully will continue to do so

Actually the platinum designation for DVDs is 100,000 copies, and if you have multiple disks in a set, that factors in too. So yes Kissology is multi-platinum, but it's sold maybe a million sets total. KISS is a visual band though, a new album is a different animal. Either way I am a fan and I hope it sells.

Neither has Van Halen's new album nor is it close. Yet it's an amazing album. Rock albums sell between 200,000 and 350,000. That's it. Sonic Boom and A Different Kind of Truth both rock...but didn't go Gold.
@RichPyke The "Stones" didn't drop Brian Jones and put a Brian Jones wig and mask on Mick Taylor, The Who didn't replace Keith Moon with a guy wearing a Keith Moon mask, Kiss is different because the original 4 guys had alter-egos like Clark Kent/ Superman , Gene doesn't even know how to portray the character anymore that he created, it's not Kiss without the original 4
I've been a long time kiss fan since 76 and I had a chance to hear the entire album.....Myeh, ho, hum. This album doesn't come close to comparing to a classic kiss album. What's ironic is that Eric singer and Tommy Thayer have the best 2 songs on it, IMO. Mediocre is the best rating I can give this album.
The album cover isn't that bad. It could have been worse... it could have been designed by Ace. Has anyone seen the ANOMALY cover? It remains to be seen which album I'll like better, but KISS wins the cover battle. Admittedly though, not by much.
