Had my heater on van 5 years. Exhaust rots after a few years under a van. In a shed you could buy the extended exhaust pipe and use as a radiator.
I have sideways fitted for domestic use. 5-8kw. The pump certainly runs faster on lower setting, even in altitude mode than the 2kw on the van.

My exhast it exposed to the weather on the shed but no salt getting on it like on my van ..
I think my van heater exhast will rot first.

As regards to exhaust heating I wrapped good quality kitchen tin foil around exhaust and muffler its a cheapie way but works fine and cheapest running costs is kerosene and 25% 30%b motor oil any more of a mix and it smells. It's working fine for me .Hope this will be of some help.

    • @martinagriffin1981

I've noticed a drip of kerosene oil from the air intake pipe I think it may be the exhaust as i have it upright any info would be appreciated

I have seen one person also do. Is because there is a lot of heat coming from the exhaust itself. He extended the exhaust and used pipes for a bathroom to make a radiator from them with a few 90° elbows erc. before the exhaust went outside! Cool idea I thought.

    • @VANFLIPPINGTASTIC

its for space so i can put it under the seats ..5 litres is more than enough for a van . should get 25 hours on low from it .. Also i guess you could carry a small fuel can with 5 litres in if you need to

@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC Understand your point. I use it in my workshop that is not insulated, therefore those small leaks are of little impact from safety point of view. But I'll watch that and if the case, I'll put the intake outside. Thank you.

Another reason to get air from outside is that combustion air needs to be replaced in your space. If your intake is inside, not only will it be taking heat out, it will also require make-up air that will come back in as a leak from somewhere else.
