The sims 2 soundtrack was so banger, I even downloaded the entire sims 2 soundtrack on Apple Music
As a fellow 90s kid, Rugrats, Crash Bandicoot and Pee-Wee’d playhouse all had a far bigger impact on me (plus, they actually could be experienced in the decade in question.) It was thanks to my mom always pointing out the band’s music and connecting them to those things that I eventually became a massive fan.

Fun Fact: The lead singer, Mark Mothersbaugh, made the theme songs for the Nickelodeon show, Rugrats, and composed music for the show's episodes as well, and he composed the Clifford The Big Red Dog theme song around 2000 with another singer singing the theme song. This guy went from being an 80's singer, to a show composer like Danny Elfman did on him in Oingo Boingo band in the 80's, and wound up making The Simpsons theme song and film composer! Cool how some less known people in one era became well known later on in their lives!

I am so glad I saw them live in Stockholm 1990. They started the show by showing this with an analog projector. One of the best conserts I have ever seen. At the last song, the singer only had underpants, which was full of cigarettes. A great band!

The first time I ever heard this song back in 1980 I was like, "Wha????" But before long I realized that this was actually brilliant. With the hindsight of 44 years, I believe that it proved to be a very apt introduction to a decade gave us some amazing music.
The 80’s was the best decade with the best music. We had it all and didn’t even know it!
The late 1960's through to the end of the 1980s was when bands actually understood music. The beats had to be created from scratch. You only have to watch Pink Floyd's Echoes Live at Pompei to see how advanced the music skills were back then. It really not a matter of how good or bad the song is, the real proof is that it is still enjoyed over 30 years later. I am wonder what 2023 song will still be listened to and appreciated in 2056. Only time will tell.

I was a kid when this and David Byrnes big suite used to confuse the hell out of me (but there was something appealing to it also). Still love Devo and Talking Heads. I guess that's how you do proper subversion :)
