One thing I think you should have mentioned but didn't, was the fact that you can make changes to a scene that viewers are already watching, and transition the changes in. Say for instance you wanted to put the "Happy Birthday" on the game-play view, without changing the scene, you can put in the text on the preview and make changes then use a fade transition when you're done. To the viewers it will appear that the text alone just faded in or out, and the game-play or the media file you were playing would not even start over.
So if you forgot logos and stuff, or perhaps you wanna turn off your camera, you can, and then fade it in, or out on the same scene.

Yes! I do that all the time. Have the same scene chosen in both screens, add something, then I use a wipe transition so it looks like the text just wiped right onto the screen.

The same scene birthday thing for me, I've been playing around between using studio mode and the other method of combining "Downstream Keyer plugin (to make something pop in/out)" with "Source Dock plugin (for editing DSK stuff on the go)".
It kinda give the same result but yeah, Studio Mode is kinda nice with how flexible it is since nothing on the viewer side will accidentally change before you hit the transition button. I just need to optimize my workspace better to use it since it'll reduce your preview screen by half. Very nice tool to have.
Edit : Both methods have its own benefit i guess.
      - DSK + Source Dock is good for fast change and the fact that you don't have to add same thing in all the scene, but not as flexible
      - Studio Mode gives you more control, safe edit and flexibility on things you can do, but it could be a slower choice in some case.

I've used Studio Mode from day one and was very surprised and a little perplexed to discover that this is not the native mode for OBS. Having worked in television broadcasting for many years, it has the bare minimum required for multi-cam and source inputs for live productions and on-air switching in master control operations. Personally I would like to see multiple source monitors in preview mode, but I guess we're doing pretty good to have at least one, which basically serves as a composite preview monitor. And no, I don't have room on my studio set for a third monitor to dedicate to full-window multi-screen, at least not yet.
With all the stuff I do on my weekly livestream, there's no way I could produce my show smoothly without it. Studio Mode should be the standard default mode in OBS, imho.

All I ever use is Studio Mode I come from a television background and this is the way it’s always been done. OBS was developed for streamers who needed really simple switching. Someone had explain to me the other mode.😮😊😊

Studio mode is awesome, I use it even though I don't have an in house producer. This mode also allows me to make tweaks to an existing scene without the streamer see me make the changes.

I have been using OBS for years & had no idea what the Studio was for. Wow, that's pretty awesome. Any idea how to stream to multiple sites like RUclips, Twitch, etc at once with OBS or does that require an add-on?

My shorts are showing up in the video section and the link says shorts. The shorts section never showed up. If you go to my About page it gives the links to the shorts. I spoke with people from YT and they didn't know why. What a mess! I even made videos about this problem!!

Why is it not possible to have Studio Mode on separate Monitor? :( It takes so much space in the GUI. Less space for displaying info or you have to stack even more info boxes :(

📌Just subscribed to the channel. My Question: I would like to be able to switch from one Scene to another with automatic transitions, perhaps timed, without having to intervene manually. Is there a video on this channel explaining it?❔Thanks

hi Michael, I am using prism live to stream (I've only done 1) but I can't find out how to schedule a stream on there. Is there a way and if not, what other live streaming platform would you recommend. My internet is slow (2-4mbs upload), but my computer has no issues. I'm streaming on my computer not my phone. Thanks Also if there is a way to schedule a stream on prism would you do a video on it.
