Since I got the Voightlander 27mm, my Fujifilm 27mm sits unused. The Voightlander is a terrific tool for my photography, and after thousands of shots, I don't even think in terms of AF vs MF... my finger stays on that tab and I can focus very quickly or I use stopped down zone focusing. Not mentioned in your video is that the Voightlander will give data so that you can see what aperture that you used and it feeds distance info to the finder so you can see the set distance and zone of focus inside the camera via the display distance scale. Plus, that true infinity hard-stop really helps in a quick grab situation. I'm done with third party un-chipped lenses that have inaccurate distance markings and that focus past infinity.
Tudor is good at this job. His clunky eastern Europe accent, his peculiar use of the -ing form in verbs like 'like' and 'love' and the photos of his missus; I really like the spirit of this guy, he's authentic and a far cry from the canadian prima donna photographs we all have in mind.
After considerable research and testing. My 27mm choice was the Voigtlander 27mm F2. The Fijifilm 27mm f2.8 was too "bland". Very glad I went down the Voigtlander path 😊.
i ordered the pergear on amazon, 4 days before it was even officially out. i live in africa though and have to wait until someone will bring it in june... the 27mm fuji I had once but never got warm with it, the 2.8 was too slow for me. I'd love the Voigtländer but its just too expensive
I agree with Tudor, I have ttart 27, tt art 25 f2 for magic rendering and bought 27 and I have GAS for Viltrox 27 . These kind of videos energize you, your intensity is much higher when you do these comparisons maybe cause it's your fav focal length. You have to consider ttart 27 in mix but I just finished a hour hour photo walk for a project with the Voigtlander 27, the short focus throw sucks a huge PITA, really don't like it but set at 3 meters at f5.6 for a point and shoot experience
Even though it’s small I hated the rendering on the Nikon 40mm 2.0. Picked up the 35mm 1.8 and it’s fantastic but big. Then I discovered the Nikon pancake 26mm 2.8. It was 500 dollars but my local camera shop gave me $200 and a $100 dollar rebate for the 26mm. Let me tell you it’s a fantastic lens on the Nikon ZF. So sharp!
It's interesting you don't like the Fuji f2.8 very much. I'm in Canada and it has been nearly impossible to locate this lens brand new. Even in the U.S. it has been difficult. Finally after a year I found one and it was finally delivered last month. So I've only had a month with it, but it has surpassed my expectations. I find it incredibly practical. It's truly pancake, sometimes every millimeter makes a difference in size. I wanted something tiny, but capable with autofocus. I don't think there are too many compromises. I'm primarily a street shooter. I mostly shoot at f4-f8 and it does nearly as good a job as my 23mm f2.0. No it's not for portraits (though you can do it) or close-up. I have my 35mm f1.4 when I want to do portraits. I put the 27mm on my xt30 and just wow, how compact this kit is now. I pair it with my Ricoh GR III (I'm never without it). So if I want macro-like shots, I have the GR. If I want 28mm equiv then the GR is great to pair with a 40mm equiv. So very surprised how decent the Fuji 27mm resolves for such a tiny lens. I edit my photos using DXO PhotoLab and I get great pop. Maybe it is just your copy?
Thought's on the pergear 25mm f1.7 I feel this lens is based on the Leica. 35mm f2 version 4 non asphérique from the 1980s it also had 7 elements in 5 groups was called the king of bokeh now I'm not suggesting the pergear is the same quality as Leica summicron but it displays similar characteristics and if you want the Leica it will cost you close to 3000 euros 2nd hand 40 times the price of the pergear new + I prefer the slightly longer focal length compared to full frame 35mm
Hello.Thank you Tudor for this video. To use my X-Pro3 I have the Fuji 27mm f2.8 and, very recently, the Voigtlander 27mm f2. Since I got this Voigtlander pancake, I'm like @albertsmith9315, I find it very pleasant to use. The only minor criticism is the one you've already expressed, Tudor, the fact that the focus indications aren't more spread out beyond 2 and 3 metres. But in practice, for street photography, I have no problem with that. It really does seem to be the ideal combination for me.

True... Voigtlander raised the standards.

After considerable research and testing. My 27mm choice was the Voigtlander 27mm F2. The Fijifilm 27mm f2.8 was too "bland". Very glad I went down the Voigtlander path 😊.
And the per gear lens is available whereas there is no delivery date yet on the Fuji lens in the UK 😊
i ordered the pergear on amazon, 4 days before it was even officially out. i live in africa though and have to wait until someone will bring it in june...
the 27mm fuji I had once but never got warm with it, the 2.8 was too slow for me.
I'd love the Voigtländer but its just too expensive
i watch all of your 27mm. but u did not choose which one is the one >> on the other clip u love another ?????
No one is the one... Depending on scene and mood each one can be the one 😁 if Fujifilm will make an AF F2 lens that would be my one :)
I agree with Tudor, I have ttart 27, tt art 25 f2 for magic rendering and bought 27 and I have GAS for Viltrox 27 . i have the 27mm f2 its great, but i noticed it says f22 on the exif data even if i shoot wide open at f2
Yes, it's a new bug with the latest Fujifilm x-t5 update.

I agree, I always complained about the 40mm f2 Nikon, the 35mm is very good but big, and yes the 26mm is very nice, I like it too.
@@Tudor_Mateescu meant to say they gave me $200 for the awful 40mm f2.
could you also compare the pergear with the ttartisan f2.0 ? they share the same focal length and very similarly priced.
It's interesting you don't like the Fuji f2.8 very much. I'm in Canada and it has been nearly impossible to locate this lens brand new. Even in the U.S. it has been difficult. In the contrary I am very satisfied of my Fujinon.
