Interesting discussions here. I watch both you, Boost and Midwest, both spend the time and give their opinions... taking the time out of their busy day, much respect to both of you. I agree that these intakes should be a "later" mod, not the first thing to do to our Q's. With that said, if I were to put an intake on my Q60, it would most likely be AMS. Seems to be the best because they also replace the actual Intake tubing. I think this is where some of us overlook. Burger doesn't, AEM doesn't and I don't believe Stillen replaces the tubing either. The upside is more steady flow straight to our turbos. The only downside (and Boost, you probably can attest to your AMS Intake install vid) is how the passenger side labor is a pain in the butt. CZ Performance guys did a 5-Intake comparison (on a stock Q50, mind-you) and all actually lost wheel hsp on the dyno. That doesn't necessarily mean that all 5 would lose power on a "tuned" car (JB's or ECU/Uprev, etc).
I just got my q60 with no plans to increase HP, but I bought the axel back, intake and heat exchanger from Infiniti. Don’t want the car super loud but just a slight increase. Want to hear the turbos spoil and Chicago gets hot in summer.
Nice review and very precise.. I would love to see dyno charts AMS, Stillen, and Tekeda cold air intakes to see who's the best
The OEM air box is excellent. The AMS intake is only a good benefit with a tune. The Dyno on an OEM setup is only about 10 HP across the RPM range. I have seen the dyno of the AMS intake on a stock Red Sport.
Its yielded increased whp on redsport and elevated rpms with jb4 and tune
Boost In Motion
JohnInNH do you recommend JB4 tune or ECU for everyday use?
I liked the vid once u said u from brooklyn, thats home for me
Always dropping some knowledge
Hey boost my name is Manuel I’m from Pomona Cali my first car 2013 g37x I was in love with that car now I have 2017 q50 awd you have been schooling me on v8 killing bro mad respect for you and you site keep that q life for life
For $500, I would buy lower downpipe and KN filter. I am currently running the BMS billet intake, z1 2.5'' full downpipe, hks Catback, Z1 hks BOV kit and JB4(Q60). That BMS billet intake basically is a hot air intake.
代玉宇 what is a hot air intake? Does that mean it’s a bad intake? I was thinking about getting the bms intake for my q50 3.0t
^hello is that bad? Lmao
I just ordered them for $400 through Infiniti in Orlando Park Illinois
Interesting. I live like 15 minutes from there. Was looking at the AMS in chicago and they were 500$ there
Thank you so much! Will definitely save money from buying from there!!
I'll agree with you that AMS makes Top quality products . But for $500 (for an intake) is to much. For the same money you can get the JB4 and get way more benefits than any intake can do. I can see it as a supporting mod down the road, but still $500,come on AMS!!!
Hey bro. How do I adjust the Jb4 settings to reflect the AMS intakes installed. Do I increase boost? Thanks. I appreciate your videos
AMS products are way overpriced..$500 for 2 air filters and some $30 piping is ridiculous. Not worth it.
$500 not worth it for an intake. Any intake will work well if you got the cold weather, we should race our cars me and you boost motion. I live in Queens
Great informative video
Please make the heat exchanger install video!!!!!!
I really want to but this car has to go in for service.
My car is fully serviced at no charge.
Burger tuning i want to put on
@@BoostInMotion
Ill take it off your hands if you dont want it. Im on the Q50 forum. Last piece i need before tune.
Ams own research shows on a stock RS, that there is a slight reduction in HP until about 5500-6000 RPM. Then you will see a HP gain. If you have a JB4 (not a tune) will you see a HP gain across the entire RPM range?
New subscriber here. I have a q60 3.0t, in your opinion, what should the first
Mods be?
What’s up my brother boost just wanted to ask you I have a red sport Q 60 do you recommend? I still change the heat exchange?
@Boost in motion quick question..I currently have a 2018 Q50 Red Sport AWD and just purchased AMS air intake and heat exchanger. I'm not looking to get it tuned since I don't want to void my warranty only have 31k on the dash. I'm still on the fence about getting a full cated system as I don't want a loud system. The AAM sounds a bit to loud and raspy. I'm thinking about getting lower downpipes for more gains but not certain if it's even worth it? This is my daily driver and not looking to race it but just want to be some what equipped for those moments 😉 Also location is Houston TX so weather is usually hot.
Hi brother i follow you in youtube I’m from Bahrain 🇧🇭 and u have good advices about q50 i like AMS parts , i have question about blow valve HKS do u have some info about it.
Z1 intakes that are designed for the vehicle 🤙🏾
So I have a Infiniti certified q50 and still have a warranty, is it true AMS doesn’t void warranty?
Hi, I just stumbled upon your channel a few days ago, been watching several videos and subscribed!
I am going to buy a Q50 3.0t AWD next year, I live in the South East of Canada and it can go from 100F to as low as -40F but the extreme hot is only about 15 days per year, so is a heat exchanger still needed? I would start with the catback and AMS intake and a tune.
Then you can pass on the heat exchanger.
Most tuners will try and push you to get it. But the stock one will suffice because of the temperature where you live
@@BoostInMotion Thanks for the reply! I am not sure about the downpipe yet, but since my provincial government just removed the clean air program, I guess that the downpipe could also be an option :)
So they're not stringent about catalytic converters?
@@BoostInMotion In my area the police turns a blind eye on cars and bikes, they are overwhelmingly modded! the clean air test means that you don't have to go and have your exhaust tested for any leaks or illegal parts. So in a sense, they are not stringent. but, is there a catalytic converter that is worth it and doesn't cut down too much of the airflow (hp gain)?
Ams lower downpipes
Megan lower
Z1 lowers
I need some help to see what I need for my vehicle. I have a 2019 q50 3.0T luxe I have purchased BOV but I’m stuck I wanted to purchase the AMS intakes but after watching your video it made me think if I want some good HP and all that what should I purchase next man or anyone on here help me lol 😂.
Here four years later but i know im gonna get both the JB4 and the intakes but does it matter which order i do?
Question would I be able to install a alpha red heat exchanger on my stock 3.0t ? Will it ruin anything like boost or slower rpm's or longer rpm's ?
Still waiting on the megan racing downpipes review, Boost
I have to take the car in for service soon so I don't want the lower downpipes on.
You can join the Q50 Q60 group on Facebook a few people have installed them and gave their review
Don’t get them.
They are solid in performance and price.
BUT. We had a hard time aligning a Fast Intentions cat back exhaust and it was because of the down pipes.
Same exhaust with AMS 3inch downpipes fit perfect.
You can get them to fit, but you’d be putting a lot of flex on your cat back exhaust, so much you’ll regret paying extra for a Z1 or AMS downpipes
moyo’s Q60 so what do you suggest
Boost In Motion can you give a link to the mods you have so I can copy cat? Also do you recommend JB4 or ECU for an everyday use
So what you think comparison to each other AMS intake or Takeda intake you think they match up well together or which one is better than the other
What’s the best tuner to use with the ams?
I have a 3.7, are intakes worth it for naturally aspirated?
BOOOOOOST IN MOTION
What intake/cutback setup would you recommend for a 14 3.7
What intakes do you recommend me getting for my 2016 Q50s?
Do they have any intake systems that would fit on a 2nd gen fx35. Like the gtr intake ser up that goes around the front connecting both side of the motor..
You can always go with aftermarket. You have stillen and a few other. You can use 370Z G37 intakes to but they don't have the mounting brackets.
@@BoostInMotion sounds like something a custom job can get done as far as the brakcets
Honestly if I was you. I would get to Z1 Motorsports intakes they made for the G37 370Z but they have to be modified to fit. Look it up online I remember people doing that for the last few years
I live close to you wanna help me install the intake 😭😭😭
Do you think the AMS intake and the taketa intake run about the same qualities
I'm going to be honest with you the Takeda stage-2 was completely new to the market and has no Dyno testing.
So i have no clue
First 💪🏽💪🏽
So are you running downpipes yet?
Ams cai is beneficial only when im ready to tune right?
They helped in Peak power
@@BoostInMotion even with just jb4? Are you still on jb4 or you ecu tuned already? I have almost all ams stuff but just wasnt ready to tune yet.thnx for all you inputs.
@@PnoyWonderBoy What is JB4?
I need to tune my 3.7 2014 in the nyc area anyone can help?
It’s only worth what people are willing to pay.
I have a 14 q50s and heard that the OEM stock air intakes are the best you wont get anything better because the fuel to air ratio but im still looking at the AMS intakes but cant decide on whether i should just keep the stock air intake or the AMS ones i was told just to ride out OEM...your thoughts? im struggling here famo...
Just put the intakes on from ams on my redsport and way better throttle response and spoils nice with the axle back from infiniti. Just grabbed the full set of uppers and lowered from ams. And piecing the ypipe and mid pipe from megan racing for a complete 3 inch exhaust
👍🏽
WRONG 11.6 IS GOOD
