4 and 4. I love the pattern but not the fabric.
I would be all in a room. I would have my sewing machine in the middle of the room not up by the wall, so sewing big quilts is easier. Have my material behind glass so it doesn't get dusty.

I liked the pattern and the fabric from the common thread box, but definitely expensive for what you get. I think I would give it a 2 overall mostly because of the price. the fabric and pattern was a 5 - but the price is definitely a little high for what is received so a 1 - but the COMMON Thread box’s fabric choice is great - AGR fabric is amazing - plus with dessert rolls you can make 2 1/2 inch strips or 5 inch squares from it - so lots of pattern options.

Good morning Holly!!! 🤗☕️ Things here are kinda stressful, getting ready to deal with a hurricane, all prayers and peaceful energy is welcome. I do like the fabric and the pattern but the cost seems steep for the contents in this box. So I agree with you and how you scored this box. Things I would like for my sewing room….. LOL, right now, it is in total disarray! I had an electrician in recently adding outlets and he has 2 small things to finish up. Putting insulation in the walls and finishing them out. (This is on hold this week with storm prep, it’s a Common thing down here, gets a bit crazy 🤪 ) So getting this space taken care of will go a long way in fulfilling my dreams for my sewing space. 😊 Ohhhhhh sweet baby Dandelion 🥰

I wonder if this Common Thread box is a monthly box charged quarterly? No, unlikely. I’d like the fabric, but not at that price. Whew. 2
I’d like my sewing room cleared of everyone else’s stuff so I could move mine in.

  • @charlenemorris6391
    @charlenemorris6391 2 месяца назад +2

If you get 3 boxes I am fine with it but 1 it is out.
I get a couple boxes but no monthly because stuffs add up and completed. A box needs to be a variety of designers and ideas or I will stop it. As far as notions- stickers, candy, and advertisement is not a notion. A notion in my opinion needs to complement my sewing experience.
If I get 2 boxes in a row that do not interest me I am tempted to cancel if the next is the same disappointment. You should take a poll on what people want to see in a subscription box.

  • @kathydarla7575

Well, dang it! For once I really like the fabric in this box but that price😳! So, 1. I’ll throw my hat in the ring…common.
I have a big space upstairs that I keep my fabric in, but not heated except a space heater if I need it in the winter, no air conditioning so don’t spend much time up there when it’s hot. I sew and cut in the spare room. So, I would like a 3rd room downstairs just for a sewing room.

I’d give the box a 1.5; I didn’t care for the fabric, or the treats, or the price.
I had to move my sewing space up from the unfinished basement to the bedroom, formerly known as the DOG ROOM and OFFICE. I’d love more space because my storage is still in the basement, as are my bigger cutting table, my bigger ironing station, my design wall, and the folding table I use for pin basting. The dogs’ grooming table now doubles as my cutting and ironing stations. My reading chair is quite comfortable for ripping out oopsies, but one of my dogs has to work hard to get in or out of his open crate. I’d love a cleaning person to vacuum the pins, threads, and dog hair from the carpet each day. I don’t have a third wish.
Holly, you have gotten me hooked on those little cutters. I don’t have as many as you do, but my collection is growing! Thanks! ❤

The Common Thread box is nice, but out of my budget even for a quarterly box. If money was no object, I'd get a DreamBox2 for all my art and sewing supplies. Realistically? Shelves. Lots of STURDY shelves, because I also have an unnatural love of books, lol!

That's right Miss Scarlett, tomorrow is another day, lol! I get Sweet Water Co. with the added fabric so my cost is $67.65 but, yes, if you don't get the add-on then the box is $39.95. I just went on their site and they are opening up subscriptions in December, in case anyone wants to know. It took two years for me to get their subscription and I only got it then because they sent me a notification since I signed up for their Tag subscription.
Bella Rose is every other month and is $79 +shipping +tax but you get 3 projects with mostly all the products you need plus the Block of the Bi Monthly. You know how much I love this box cause I mention it all the time ;-) and of course the Pastry Shop Quilts Treat boxes which ship every 6 weeks for $42.95 +shipping +tax and you get a full size quilt plus all the other goodies.
I like it when the company puts a price list in the box, like Fat Quarter Shop. What if I want to buy more of whatever, like the thread for instance - why make it harder on me to do a search in your store? Okay, the cup cake precut is $40 for 21 pieces, so basically a full size jelly roll if you cut it in half. I liked the Alison Glass pieces but like you, I have a huge collection. Of course AGF is in my top three companies - they fabric is so soft! The pencil isn't listed there but I got a set of 3 plus a container of pencil lead for $8 a couple of weeks ago at another on-line store. They do show a Bohin and a Sew-Line mechanical pencil (I really line the Sew-Line one) for $13 and $14.69. The Signature 50WT cotton thread runs $8 at other stores, they didn't have it for sale which really surprises me. The pattern is $13 on the Kitchen Table Quilting site, again not for sale in their store. The Handy Net Spool Covers aren't in their store but I've gotten 200 for $5 at another store and of course you can get them at the grocery store in the veg/fruit area. Sooooo - not a box for me at that price, maybe if it had everything to make the twin size quilt, at least for quilt top and the binding. If I were in their store and saw this for sale I wouldn't buy it for $50 let alone $99. I rate this a 1.
WOW! It's been a year for your sewing room? Just doesn't seem possible but you did have the Christmas tree up a couple of months into the move. So the only thing you would do is increase your room or have additional fabric storage? Welllllll - what about the office you moved out of? LOL - don't show this to Tom, didn't he trade you rooms? Seriously, I just need to get rid of my other crafts that I haven't glanced at since taking up quilting/sewing. Those other crafts take up a lot of my space. My fabric has overflowed into the laundry room - I even moved my TV and recliner out of art room to make the space for fabric containers. It's so out of control - but it I love it and being able to look at everything.
HOLLY! Our moment of zen is so sweet - baby Dandelion! I love it!

I love Art Gallery fabric. That said, for $99 it should have had 3 bundles, and didn't love the prints. Vote 0

I would love more storage and a cutting table. The box was common.

I think you pay for the quarter but get 3 monthly boxes. That makes The Common Thread box a 5 in value: from their website: This wonderful box will be available to be mailed to you or picked up in the shop. “Each month you will receive a monthly box that includes fabric, a pattern, notion and/or other trinkets to add to your growing stash of supplies.” I loved this box when I used to get it.

Glad to see your smiling face and you looking so “healthy”. My sewing room has more “stuff” than room to work. I really need to learn organizational skills. Nice box, but not my fave. Fabrics are just ehhhh. I give this box a 3.5. I love the pencil and thread. lol. This is a common box that costs too much!! lol. My top 3 wishes…more storage, a larger working table and a top of the line sewing machine.

Seems like when I got this box it was $99, but I got it 3 times during that quarter.
I would love it. I like the Common Thread box. I give it a 4 for like it and hard to do the value. If it’s 1 box per quarter for $99 it’s a 2. If it’s several boxes for $99, it’s a 5.
For my sewing area change, I would love to be able to close up the mess. It’s our dining room that has 2 functions: Bible Study and Sewing. I am a spread out kinda gal with both those functions. Books and paper on half the table and sewing on the other. I would like a door to shut to hide the mess
But my husband is gracious. He has the garage. I have the dining room.
    Have an awesome day everyone.

It's common to see Alison Glass and Art Gallery in my sewing room. Kitchen table quilts has a great selection of beginner/intermediate fun quilt patterns. Her and Cluck Cluck sew are my go to for a quick pattern. Zero flat service says it all!! $100 doesn't seem to go very far anymore. My sewing rooms needs more shelves so I can see what I have!

All surfaces in my sewing room are spotless...the floor, though, is another story. My cat Jelly Bean loves to throw everything on the floor. 😂 I rarely see a box where I like nothing in it, but this is one. This box was definitely not worth $99. For that price, I'd expect a full quilt kit. The girls and I give it a 1. My wish for my sewing room would be to keep Jelly Bean out of it, perhaps? Lol
