@@TheArtofCraftsmanship For some reason my notifications were not working like they should. I think I have the problem solved and some catching up to do on your channel. That will be fun. Love this channel and Happy New Year to you!
Thanks you - Great looking! Nice demo! I have picked up a few of these at antique stores but haven't done anything with. This has inspired to get with it!!!
I'm proud to say I own one of the Sheepshear Knives. I absolutely love it. I used it as my kitchen knife when I went camping recently. It's one of my all time favorite knives now
Hello, just seen this. You did a good job on that pair of knives. Them antique sheep shears if you can find realy old ones some are made from shear steel. They give an interesting etch to the blades.👍
I wasn’t expecting much when you said you’re making knives out of shears but these turned out really great. Love them. I’m off to find some shears now.
Wow, what a great project! With that asymmetrical bevel they're almost like a deba. I even have a set i inherited from my Grandfather. My grandson Ashton is going to be a chef so what a perfect thing to make for him. Thanks so much for the idea. Im sure mine will not turn out as good as your but mate im going to try lol.
Espectacular job my friend, as usual you know how to do. One more year with your nice videa and one more year to wish you the best for 2023. I hope to see a new video from you very soon. Warm friendship hug my friend.
I like how watching this video he is still using harbor freight and second hand tools. So many other makers that start to get a decent following begin to start way upgrading there tools. Like going from second hand or harbor freight tools over to high end Bosch and Festool
Great set of knifes. Just found your channel. Looking forward to binging on your content. Here in NZ there is still a competition shearing sheep with the old shears. 👍
Great job mate . I’ve made a few and using deer antler for the handles. They are a bit more rustic looking than yours ( means rougher) but they look the part and are quite popular. Love your show keep up the good work.
Nice looking repurpose. When the video came out, I went about finding some shears myself and have started the project. I noticed you grinding spine up for these. What’s the thinking there? Love the videos! Thanks for doing what you do.
My grandfather left me an American ax blade (with logo number 9) I don't understand the meaning of the logo?. and I'm keeping it as a very valuable keepsake. I once heard him say that white ash is an optimal choice for the handle of an ax. my grandpa is gone...i always keep it and will restore it someday. thanks for your good video, tutorial. Happy New Year and support your content. I subscribe to your channel, thanks for letting me watch this video. bless you ☺👍
Just watching and thought you may want to put some bright enamel paint on the knob you turned which caused the sanding belt to shoot off. That way you will visually see a difference on the knobs for what you want to do.
Great idea, but I would have flushed the wood to the height of the metal at the back of the knife. Great video. Who plays the music. Whoever it is does some great stuff with alternate tunings. I play myself. Thanks
Thanks for the comment. I prefer the look and feel of the raised metal, but it wouldn’t be too hard to recess it. Devon, and his old band mate Matt Brown play the music for the channel. (We had Matt on our podcast a while back. You should check it out)
Apologies if you've already answered this, but what is this rust remover liquid? Looks like your own personal formulation, and I'd love to know what it is - if you don't mind.
It’s a great build and I’ve done more than a few of them myself… my only ongoing concern is the bevel is in the wrong side. These knives are great for left the handed… not so good in the right hand.
Thanks Espo. I actually think they are more geared for right handed use, since the taller bevel is on the left, but all in all, I don’t think it makes all the much of a difference. Thanks again.
This has got to be the quintessential AOC project! I love how they turned out
Thanks Bryan, I’m very happy with the design.
One of my favorite channels on RUclips. That is a beautiful set of knives. Simple yet elegant. Nice to see you back in the shop!
Thank so much Tom. I’m always in the shop😉. Just not always filming.

Really nice! Something about “repurposing” old stuff but leaving the personality in place. Good stuff!
Thanks you - Great looking! Nice demo! I have picked up a few of these at antique stores but haven't done anything with. This has inspired to get with it!!!
I like these easy to follow protects.
Thank you.

Definitely excellent craftsmanship at work!
Great idea and awesome outcome.
Good job man. Excellent idea to put them to use !!! Turned out GREAT

I absolutely love them! The handles came out really beautiful. I really want to make a pair of these now.
Great finished product
Thanks. They are really fun to make

I use the tools that I have. When I get new tools, I use those too. The tools work until they don’t. If they work, I use them 😁
Great set of knifes.

I’ve though about antler or bone. I love the looks. Thanks.

Love the videos! Thanks for doing what you do.
I grind edge up for material removal and spine up when sharpening.

Hey mate any idea what to make with the part of the handle you cut away?
Just watching and thought you may want to put some bright enamel paint on the knob you turned which caused the sanding belt to shoot off. That way you will visually see a difference on the knobs for what you want to do.
That’s not a bad idea! Thanks.
They are sweet looking knives found the vid lol

You could make bracelet's out of those ends you cut off and throwed in the trashcan.
True. Fortunately, it’s not a trashcan. It’s a scrap metal bin.😉
You ever sell your hatchets ?
Hi, Why not use epoxy with some wood in it?
I’m. It sure what you mean. Where are you suggesting I do this?

You don't have to redo the bevels. Just sharpen and use.
They’re a bit too thick on the edge for my liking for a culinary knife, so I like to grind them back a bit to get a thinner edge geometry.
