Thank you all for watching the video, don't forget to like it. By the way, one of the subscribers told us the idea of making a chisel knife. Therefore, write in the comments which knife will make the next one, and we will make it for you.
It’s so refreshing to see someone center punching a knife on an anvil rather than a surface plate. This kind of craftsmanship and respect of equipment shows on the incredible beauty and creativity of your beautiful knives.
I have been a big fan of you for a long time! you were one of my biggest inspirations to start making youtube videos and make knives! I must say this has been one of my favorite videos by you yet! Great job!
Always enjoy the beginning with the metal in the Crucible and what comes out it's quite amazing how hard it is when you hammer it, what you forged out is quite something then you fit and finish it and it's beautiful pice of work. Always good to see another new video from you knowing you are keeping well.
To explain deeper, the glass melts and forms a seal on top of the steel while the Carburization takes place, because if Oxygen gets in, it will bond with both the Carbon and with the Iron and it will ruin it all into a gassy pile of rust.
I think he uses 1095 for the steel powder, but could be a lower carbon steel. Then he adds graphite for additional carbon, then the glass to prevent oxidation.
Hey bud well I just saw on the chisel knife video awesome as hell. Question what was that liquid that made the knife kinda look etched afterwards the liquid that looked deep orange color just wondering I seen u that before on another video with the Shirasaya Katana and it looked awesome

Wonder what he does with all the leftover material. I'd like to see a blade made out of those. Just the patter would be amazing.

Nice!
Caramba gostei belo trabalho
Wouldn't you want the bevel on the opposite side of the knife for a right handed user?
I had the same thought. That's a left handed knife
If you look at Yakut knives, they seem to be the same way. Seems counterintuitive.
Beautiful! I wonder about the utility? Is it meant for wood wook/carving or does it have other uses?
Maybe make a karambit out of san mai, with the cladding steel being cutoff ends from past builds.
Does anyone know why he puts the glass shards in last?
Beautiful work, as always!
To protect steel from oxidation.
👍
@@fz-makingknives3663Ahhh, makes sense. Thank you!

Very nice piece of work there. I'm not sure what steel bandsaw blades are made of. Or even if the bulk of the blade and the teeth are the same metal.
Cool 💪👍
👍
if you're right handed, better put the bevel on other side, so you dont hurt left hand when using both
gj btw
Cool
I finally got the joke at the end of the video. 😂😂. Too funny
👍Good
That intro through me off and I was like Oh Yeah. lol
is that a special type of glass?
👍👍👍
Second life of steel
Can I used peanut oil for quenching
Absolutely. Plenty of smiths do.
do you have the formula for the filler metal or is that a secret 1:20

You can buy powdered sreel in 1084 and 1095; probably other grades too.

❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉
Why quench before sharpening???
How about either a butterfly knife with an all Damascus body or a blacksmith’s knife with the whole skeleton handle and forged from 1 piece?
👏👏👏👏👏🤜🤛
For a push blade, it probably would've been safer to either put a guard or a hand stop on that so you can't mangle your hands as easily, no?
Could you please do a 15th century style dagger?!?! Your work is so beautiful, and I know you would do an amazing job!

How about some Wootz using old keys?
Could you please add the proper amount of Vanadium?
Another beautiful blade. Need to do a Rambo style knife .
Can I use some clips from your videos?
Make an wootz Ulu knife, that you can use for cutting meat and combat, so no wider than average witdh of a fist.
Make a fish filet knife next
