I want to start off by saying I am a huge fan of this channel, but having watched for years I have come to the conclusion that they may need to adjust the conditions of their scenarios. Unless it is a lopsided match or a ficitional setting (i.e. the US and Russia sharing a land border) almost no nation has the standing forces to project sufficient power to conquer a near peer. I would suggest changing the conditions to a multi-year war that allows for each combatant to mobilize it's population and industry. I understand it would make the videos more complex and difficult to make, but I feel it would also make them better. Even if the above advice is ignored I wholeheartedly support this channel and hope they continue to make such high quality videos far into the future.

Not many people talked about it, but Siam (Thailand) and Vietnam used to go to war in the early 1800s. The war was to conquer or establish their dominance over Khmer (Cambodia). The victor couldn't be decided, and thus Cambodia was divided into East and West respectively. So for us to not repeating the tragedy, let's just say we are tied militarily, and compete in sport or economy instead.
Cambodia used to be just a military exercise for Siamese empire before guns and colonial time. Siam empire loves going there for shits and giggles. Siam never wanted to fight with the viets though because they knew the viets were no pushover with all the mountainous terrain, military and all. Well in my opinion, there are 2 things needed to be adjusted: 1. Vietnam has experience of using Ho Chi Minh trail through Laos jungle in Vietnam War and considering Lao - Vietnam tight relationship, I don't think there would be any trouble for Vietnam to "borrow" a pathway to North-Eastern Thai. (In fact Laos would likely support Vietnamese if there's any conflict coming) 2. 4 out of 5 Vietnam's Navy Regional Commands are in the Central and South Regions, also the Navy Academy is based on Nha Trang in the very south of Central Vietnam (which is also the place to train officers for Cambodian and Laos Navy), so I don't think either Vietnamese Navy would have any trouble in mobilize most of their fleets to Gulf of Thailand.
Interesting video. I have doubts about a few things stated in the video though: 1. If the Vietnamese goes on the offensive, the main thrust would not go through Laos: harsh terrain, and no high value target on Thailand side. It will only be a minor theater/diversion/harassment. The mechanized troops would go through Cambodia, possibly with a combined amphibious assault. Even in 1979, the Vietnamese could already pull off large scale, multi-phase, combined operations. They have much better logistics network and higher level of mechanization today. 2. Vietnam doesn't rely on conscript as much nowadays. Professionals make up more than half of the military. 3. The 5 million number is not self-defense militia. This is the reserve force consists of mostly conscripts who finished their conscription, and can be called back to active service. There're a few more millions in the self-defense militia, a separated organization in charge of local defense. 4. The number of Su-22 is too low. In 2016, Vietnamese media said the country had 145 Su-22s (mostly M4 variant). The number in active service will likely be lower, but can't be 26, since there're at least 3 regiments flying Su-22, so it has to be 40+.
This is somewhat unlikely to happen the most out off all scenario. Their bond of relation ship are too strong through H3ntai Artist and the Tea Alliance. Thailand and Vietnam would join forces and invading Cambodia are more likely going to happen than this. Thanks Xter for preventing the war.

Can you do a scenario about the American's invading Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis without Allies and nukes except for the tactical nukes the Russians had in Cuba to be used against an American invasion and the Russians who were in Cuba at the time?
Bruh it's already a given that Cuba would lose, Plus not to mention Cuba isn't really gonna be effective on defense, even if they do somehow to have a defense it wouldn't be too long due to them heavily rely on the soviets for armaments, so it would be a lose lose to Cuba rather than a lose lose to both sides...
The US would definitely respond to any Soviet use of tactical nukes with our own tactical nukes. I've always thought the Soviet, and now Russian, thoughts about using tactical nukes as weird, as if assuming only they will use them. Or maybe they don't assume that and are just willing to suffer the casualties.
@@argosime that's why I said no nukes and allies. The US can't use their nukes and the Russians can't get involved. The Russian tactical nukes as well as the soldiers the Soviet Union sent to Cuba at the time are exemptions in my scenario request

To be fair though, the majority of RTAF F-16 are fairly modern, while not all were up to the block 52 standards, most were at least updated to ADF (which mean they can fire AIM-120), there is really only a single square that is still in full A/B configuration so the ratio is more like 1/3 rather than 2/3. Vietnam on the other hand though do have formal defence agreement with Laos. While they will most likely have to fight their way through Cambodia, over Laos they should be at no risk of direct intervention from the Laos military (and might even enjoy some support, had they honoured their agreement.) I think that was one factor you should factor in (not that it'll make much of a differences, Laos corridor really isn't great for military crossing)
Please make video if INDONESIA vs MALAYSIA, because in fact there is a feeling of dislike between the two countries, especially between of their citizens, and that caused by the past history. and in 1962-1966 Indonesia tried to confront Malaysia I think that will be a good video and will get a lot of views especially from that 2 countries.
Binkov's Videos always end in stalemate. In reality it never ends up being a stalemate because of the political hand-tying or because someone brings a friend (or a friend's airforce).
the chinese did stored military equipment in Thailand when vietnamese forces ocupied cambodia, in case vietnam decided to invade Thailand aswell to wipe out the remenants of khmer rouge who seeked refuge behind That borders
Thailand's reserve troops do train, but not each year so far I am aware. It's more a refreshment course so far I understood from my Thai friend who is actually currently serving in the Thai army. Thailand does have huge pontoons that can be converted to floating bridges, this however would cause trash to pile up in Bangkok severely. Which is likely not the best idea for morale. Gripens are far more potent fighters then you realize, in the hands of good pilots those 11 fighters will tear the opposition to shreds. The air war is likely fairly quickly won by Thailand for that reason. Also the Gripens could be equipped to attack shipping which makes it harder for Vietnam to get near Thai shores. It will more be a stick to keep the Vietnamese at a distance. I don't think Vietnam will risk a all out war with 3 of it's neighbors as it will be suicide pretty much, this also is the case for Thailand. Going trough China would become a massacre as the Chinese covered all borders there with a lot of their troops.
@@Cool_124 Here I have a better answer. Tell me why Thailand is the only country that is known to have never been colonized? No one talks about Vietnam, bro. Also dont forget that Thailand stopped communism from Vietnam. Pretty easy lol
@Cool_124 Yes. As of today's warfare, we all know that wealth pays the most important role. So Thailand would win as mucu as Thailand already stopped communism from Vietnam. Meh.
Review the clip a bit. for the RTAF In the clip it seems to give Gripen the only feature that can support the company. Fighting, not talking about training the F-16eMLU and the upgraded F-5 may be able to get the old data attached, especially Python, and now I-Derby can be installed. Therefore, I believe that if given a little more information, the results of the air fight will likely change from comparable to Northern Thailand. But I agree with the clip that Thailand has been pressed with SAM, allowing at least some aerial trajectory.
you have made some mistakes though - essentially the whole Thai fleet is stationed at Sattahip in the Gulf of Thailand, with only very, very small number of major ships sent to Indian Ocean at a time on rotational basis

There was many conflict between royal Khmer family when 1 side ask Thai for help, other side ask Viet to rival. Early on the Swiss would have a massive advantage, but it would die out later on. The Swiss have a virtually equal army in size, but have 1.5 million men in reserves, while Italy has 18,000 in reserves.
@@oof5020 but italy has 8 regiments (recruited regionally until 2000s ) of mountain warfare troops, a bigger and more modern air force (while still using AMX and Tornados, it has Eurofighters and F35s) and a average bigger caliber and range artillery (and A LOT of light-weight howitzer for mountain war). Italy need simply to stay safe and advance slowly through the mountain while keeping Swiss army under constant fire. It will take time and it will not be bloodless, but Italy could take Switzerland with not too much effort. Funfact: mules were still used sometimes by the Italian army (last one died in 2019). They can carry a lot of weight (over 150Kg) and move through rough terrain quite easily. Even the US Army used mules on the Afghan Mountains.
Cambodia: "Land mines. Lots and lots of land mines." Laos: "I guess we should rent the center on our nation to Thailand and Vietnam when this war starts. Alexa... ... locate me a good realator."
Thailand would lose. As you said Thailand's army are mostly conscripts, and all they do is domestic duties for the 1700 generals and admirals, i.e. cleaning boots, washing cars, doing the gardening etc etc. The Mekong river is so low now, because of Chinese dams, it's not much of an obstacle.
Well Thailand would lose if they would push forward and try to invade Vietnam but if thailand plays defense and Cambodia and Laos resistance fighting and Thailand fighting against Vietnam Vietnam will have a lot of casualties and will result in fatal risk I think that's the only way that Thailand would win

So for us to not repeating the tragedy, let's just say we are tied militarily, and compete in sport or economy instead.
the war in the 1800s, although both countries were equally strong, on the Cambodian battlefield the Vietnamese army often won.
I was told that the Vietnamese won, and reinstated the Khmer king after Asian retreated.
What about the war with Siam and nguyen hue where Vietnamese completely wipe out the Siam army?
Cambodia used to be just a military exercise for Siamese empire before guns and colonial time. Siam empire loves going there for shits and giggles. Siam never wanted to fight with the viets though because they knew the viets were no pushover with all the mountainous terrain, military and all. Cambodia is largely flat you just ride in and topple the big guy and that's it. The viets never really came to visit Siam either. Props to them.

Well in my opinion, there are 2 things needed to be adjusted:
1. Vietnam has experience of using Ho Chi Minh trail through Laos jungle in Vietnam War and considering Lao - Vietnam tight relationship, I don't think there would be any trouble for Vietnam to "borrow" a pathway to North-Eastern Thai. (In fact Laos would likely support Vietnamese if there's any conflict coming)
2. 4 out of 5 Vietnam's Navy Regional Commands are in the Central and South Regions, also the Navy Academy is based on Nha Trang in the very south of Central Vietnam (which is also the place to train officers for Cambodian and Laos Navy), so I don't think either Vietnamese Navy would have any trouble in mobilize most of their fleets to Gulf of Thailand.
bỏ à Laos Navy :))))))
Interesting video. I have doubts about a few things stated in the video though:

Gripens are far more potent fighters then you realize, in the hands of good pilots those 11 fighters will tear the opposition to shreds.

Little China ? Hmmm sounds toxic, you cant even call a country with its real name lol
I don't know who would win, but I can tell you who would lose: Cambodia
I'm going to upload a Korean caption of Korea vs Japan video. Is it okay?
ok boomer
History was that. Khmer empire is stuck between Thai and Viet. They contribute to both country and ask for protection to both side. There was many conflict between royal Khmer family when 1 side ask Thai for help, other side ask Viet to rival. Bot Viet and Thai also want to get more influnce so they actively involved in that conflict
Laos and Cambudia : Why we stil here just to suffer?
aren’t we just like this many years ago ???? smh
Geography and historical inabilities to form cohesive governments.
@Shimohira Reika when u looking for the helping of an other country for ur country problems, ur already lose.
@Shimohira Reika it's better not trying to oppose Vietnam as your lesson with Pol Pot still remains, and especially don't playing with China cause you will only hurt yourself, china cannot help you but Vietnam can and we are helping Cambodia at the moment, from training, education to investing. China investment on Cambodia is for china and they benefits from them most, not khmer who cannot controlled it
Laos and Cambodia should join with Vietnam to become one bigger united country.
Nice video. Love from Laos
China vs ASEAN without US or Commonwealth interference.
One Sean should be able to take on a few measly countries.😎
China wouldn't even be able to take Vietnam, but they can probably take South Korea by bribing Moon Jae-in.
One Chinese fleet outweighs the entire ASEAN fleet.
@@markhenley3097 I doubt China would try to take Vietnam in the first place. They have failed multiple invasions throughout history all under the same circumstances.
@@LOL-zu1zr Certainly true but they've got some subs and aircraft enough to cause problems, though Hainan would likely be turned into a massive airbase
TBH, the only reason Cambodia and Laos exist for such a long time, is because Thai and Viet have beef which each other. Therefore, buffer states between 2 of them is prefered
Switzerland VS Italy would be interesting ngl
Yes
Early on the Swiss would have a massive advantage, but it would die out later on. The Swiss have a virtually equal army in size, but have 1.5 million men in reserves, while Italy has 18,000 in reserves.
The air war would break Switzerland
@@marcofava Air Defense in Switzerland isn't that bad as far as I'm concerned. Especially considering the system in the Alps.
I can see vietnams and thailands commanders watching this and prepping accordingly.
Internet commander or keyboard commander?
@@bezero2005
just regular commanders.
probably sitting at their respective computer desks while taking notes.
Cambodia: "Land mines. Lots and lots of land mines."
Laos: "I guess we should rent the center on our nation to Thailand and Vietnam when this war starts. Alexa...
... locate me a good realator."
no Thailand commanders are busy with corruption and getting richer. lol
Isn't vietnam hate chinese
Go learn Franco-Thai war 1940-1941 how Thailand defeat France Indochina.
@AJ_Exiled sino-vietnamese war 1979 flashback*
We lived on a hill that America bombed 20 days a month. We have a high level of survival experience in Vietnam
as a Filipino I'm laughing my ass out why the heck would they go to war
for real, even I don't know why
At old time both countries used to have war against each other to snatch Laos and Cambodia. I dont know about Vietnam but that war result a very long man made canal as envidence in Bangkok nowaday is became a very important for everyday life public transportation.
thats why this is a hypothetical scenario...
Believe it or not there is probably a scenario if war does break out

Nếu Việt Nam và Thái Lan có đánh nhau thật thì khó nói không có xung đột trên đất Campuchia và Lào 😅... Nhưng sẽ không bao giờ xảy ra đâu.
💛🇹🇭 Thailand and Thai people love peace. but if unavoidable We must preserve the sovereignty and property of the people of the country. I think war is a loss. We should be friends and love each other. This is the best solution for me

EU vs OIC(Organization of Islamic Cooperation)
Second Korean War(ROK, Japan and US vs DPRK, Russia and China)
ASEAN vs China
ASEAN vs India
@@anonymerdude4501 idk man OIC alliance states 56 countries and has a population of 1.86 billion. Including countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Morocco, Kuwait, Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE and many more.
EU wins (not enough land access for OIC to win fast, EU better fleet and joint economy)
US, ROK and Japan would lose. Assuming no nuclear war, Russia and China have too many assets they can bring through land and US has too much risk bringing the numbers they need through the Pacific. Japan alone cant defend Korea, it can barely stay safe itself. China and Russia would get the shit bombed out of their East territories though.
The entire ASEAN : Da fuck they are doing over there?
Thai has better weapons, but Vietnam seems more stable, so Thailand would probably collapse.
How can you be so sure that thailand has better weapons than Vietnam??? Please do more research. Vietnam is ranked the 21st in military power in the world man...

The only possible way for Vietnam to attack Thailand is going through Cambodia because of its geography and political instability. In history, Vietnam and Thailand have joined in many battles to have more influence over Cambodia. The last time is 1979, Vietnam defeated Polpot, captured Phnom Penh in 2 weeks, and controlled 99% of Cambodia territory in 4 months. When Polpot moved to Thailand's land to fight a guerilla war against Vietnam, it was a rumor that Vietnam would invade Thailand. In the future, the only possibility that Vietnam and Thailand may have military conflict is a dictator regime of Hun Sen in Cambodia fell into crisis, then, Thailand and Vietnam want to have more influence over Cambodia. Personally, I hope Vietnam and Thailand will be friends forever.
Cambodia is slowly falling for China instead....
Actually, VN can't pass through Cambodia, bcz today Cambodia is Chinadia. hehe
This is great. I think laotians are culturally closer to Thais and that would factor into a war without the stay out clause.
Culture doesn't matter that much considering state v state affairs. Laos is a lot closer politically to Vietnam so at the *very* least it balance out. In the most likely scenario Laos would be pro Vietnamese
Laos is sole strategic ally of Vietnam, even in border conflict with China 1979, Laos criticized China for invading Vietnam
@@TheVietarmy Laos today is closer to China , but in a war will likely be pro Vietnam while Cambodia will be pro Thailand or independent.
