It creates an over flow of feelings and they just burst in tears. I’ve had students do that at times. It can be something beautiful such as a birthday celebration.

Emotional overload like this is very normal with kids, especially talking to a non-family grown-up. When I was a kid a teacher made me go to the school kitchen to ask the cook for some ice and when he opened the door and nicely ask "Hi honey, what do you want?" I just felt like this overwhelming urge to cry. Thankfully I suppressed it and got the ice just fine but still, this happens a lot. Same with minor injuries like a scrape, I'd be totally fine and as soon as a grown-up asked me if I was okay I was in tears.

I'm a teacher. On a Monday assembly, I saw one of the Year 1 pupils looking sad, so I smiled and waved at him to cheer him up..suddenly he had tears in his eyes and started wiping his eyes.. After the assembly, in the classroom, I ask him why he cried ( I sort of knew why he cried), he said he misses his mom so much and feels pity for her as she is alone at home without him. Emotional overload like this is very normal with kids, especially talking to a non-family grown-up. When I was a kid a teacher made me go to the school kitchen to ask the cook for some ice and when he opened the door and nicely ask "Hi honey, what do you want?" I just felt like this overwhelming urge to cry. Thankfully I suppressed it and got the ice just fine but still, this happens a lot. Same with minor injuries like a scrape, I'd be totally fine and as soon as a grown-up asked me if I was okay I was in tears.

I'm a teacher. On a Monday assembly, I saw one of the Year 1 pupils looking sad, so I smiled and waved at him to cheer him up..suddenly he had tears in his eyes and started wiping his eyes..
After the assembly, in the classroom, I ask him why he cried ( I sort of knew why he cried), he said he misses his mom so much and feels pity for her as she is alone at home without him. I persuaded him and he was feeling better after that.
Well, looks like this happens to kids around the globe.
