This was so well done. It was easy for me to put my emotions with Eathan. My adopted grandson was being raised by a mother who could not understand motherhood or bringing up children. She was abandoned by her mother at a very early age and was through drama most of her life. She had abandoned my grandson twice before he was 3 years old. When she had another baby with my son, she ran off and abandoned both boys. My son and I did think twice about alternatives, we kept them, got them therapists, and applied for parenting classes, and support counselors. Her first boy, my oldest grandson was soon diagnost with ADHD. We sought advised, and although we did not like the suggestion of using drugs for an 8 year old, we agreed to try it for 6 months. All I can say is it was like a miracle. Challenge for the next 10 years we're sometimes complicated, and always emotional. We lived through it and the summer before his last year in high school we took him off medication.... and he did All his 12th curriculum himself, and graduated. I LOVED this story and appreciated that whoever did the graphics didn't just cut & paste 8 different kid's and 9 different father's picture that always messes up these story posts....
Thanks for sharing....Childhood and babyhood traumas are a result of unintentional abuse by parents who know no better and probably never felt loved, heard and respected as children. They themselves were traumatized. Finally now Gabor Mate and many others are educating society that all addictions are a result of early trauma. Parents do the best they know how so we cannot blame them.
Absolutely unbelievable and what a story of faith, determination and a father's love. Well done young John. You are a genius and dad you have every right to be so proud
That is what parents are for to support their offspring to make sure they can fly and conquer their insecurities and fears. Great examples for parenting and friendship.
THIS STORY HAS ME CRYING AS IT IS A SPECIAL CHILD WHO HAS OVERCOME SO VERY MUCH AND I HAVE GRAND CHILDREN WITH FORMS OF THIS A DELIGHTFUL GRAND DAUGHTER IN HER TEENS WITH AUTISM AND SHE ALSO IS INCREDIBLE AND HER YOUNGER BROTHER HAS ADHD and my Son had Dyslexia and Obtained a MASTER'S DEGREE IN HIS CHOSEN SUBJECT I THINK I AM CRYING WITH JOY FOR THIS BOY JOHN AND ALL CHILDREN AND PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT FORMS OF ABILITY WHICH JUST MAKES THEM SPECIAL AND DIFFERENT AND SUCCESSFUL AND WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE THEM AND CONGRATULATE THEM. GOD BLESS THEM ALL.
Best story I've read in a long time. A wonderful father with love, understanding, guidance, and encouragement for his son. Well read, with clarity of speech, correctly spelled words, and no annoying repetition. Congratulations!
Great story. I saw that young man in me so many years ago and even today, the struggle that I deal with on a daily basis. So many pieces I relate to and yet the one line caught me with a gulp. "They do not see me" so true as I live in my own little invisible world. Every so often I am able to breach that parallel world and some communication occurs with another person. I too do most of my math in my head without a calculator or even a piece of paper. I do have unusual talents, math is one of them. Thank you for sharing this story. No one understands when I tell them I too am autistic.
I also have autism. I was diagnosed at age 3 and very skeptical of who to speak to and how to speak to those people. Mostly spent time with cousins. At times I’m still skeptical of whom I talk to, especially if I don’t know those people.
This story made my heart cry..And I wished that I could tell John personally, that he is an exemple for me.God bless him .God bles the two of them, both John and his father;it's Love that shines through this story. And that is their real victory. Peter, from France
John, you a so amazing & thanks to your wonderful father for his persistent support. You have a bright future ahead with God's blessings. Watching from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬❤️❤️
This video truly touched my heart. Watching John, a young boy with autism, overcome so many obstacles and defy everyone’s expectations was incredibly inspiring. The way his father, Ethan, stood by his side and believed in him no matter what was the perfect representation of what unconditional love and support look like. It’s amazing how John’s gift for mathematics became a way for him to shine, not just in a contest but in life. This story goes beyond the numbers - it’s a story about perseverance, believing in oneself, and breaking down barriers that others place in front of us. John’s journey is a beautiful reminder that everyone has a unique gift, even if the world doesn't immediately see it. The challenges he faced weren't just academic; they were emotional, social, and deeply personal. Yet, with the unwavering belief of his father and the community, John was able to show everyone what he is truly capable of. I found myself cheering for him throughout the entire video, and by the end, I was moved to tears. This isn't just a victory in a math competition; it’s a victory against all odds. Thank you for sharing this incredible story! It’s one that will stay with me for a long time. I can’t wait to see what John accomplishes next, and I’m sure he’ll continue to amaze everyone around him. Keep up the great work!
John is a savant and a math genius. He will grow up to be a physicist and mathematics scientist, perhaps, with his doctorate in the subject. He may be a professor and do research at the university level or whatever he chooses. As he grows up, he will gain more confidence and excel in his choices. He will always be remembered in history as a born scientist who taught and worked with the most famous of those who have made history with their work, perhaps like Stephen Hawking or Albert Einstein or Nicholas Tesla. I hope God will bless you, Always!❤🥰🙏💝
Deeply moving and well presented - I'm a retired Associate Professor of Psychology and found the presentation succinct and filled with human warmth and love.
Mt niece's youngest child is autistic, a teenager now. I live too far away to spend time with her children...and I wonder what special things will come from his life... Thank you for a lovely story!
Beautiful story. John worked so hard to overcome his fear. His father’s strong love and dedication to help John overcome his fear and believe in himself like his family did and to be accepted by others. This is true love from his father to his Son. ❤
A loving, supportive dad indeed. He never doubted his son's extremely exceptional abilities. Well done Ethan and John for breaking the all obstacles together, for not throwing the towel down to allow your son to grow with such talent in a cocoon. Reminds me of one student I personally taught who is now in his adulthood and independent ❤️👌
Like this story, we should find every child's best to nurture, not search for average. Nobody has anyhow time or need to do everything. Well written story in whole. 💖
With all of the ups and downs they went through, John proved to himself, his father and others what he was made off. He had a determination to prove he could do it. Keep on moving upwards John. ❤❤❤❤❤❤👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿💯🇹🇹
It is hard but think of all your love and encouragement helped him accomplish. I agree you and your parents gave him a strong feeling of love and inner belief in himself and what he could do in life. Great job all of you!
It's amazing how God shows his love and a support he pulled all the neighbors together help him and his son John do something that was impossible for them alone He worked through the neighbors and Friends. I made it possible
I am another John. I certainly can indeed relate to his experience. I grew up like this myself. Now I am about to found a new organisation a non profit educating and promoting ALL forms of human transport electrification. Now is the time with this continuing climate disasters occurring more frequently and more aggressive. We MUST win - or there shall be no more life of any sort on this planet! The organisation will be worldwide, called ITEM Look for it soon.
I have seen a marked change in attitude towards people who are different. I am personally affected by autism and epilepsy. I am 80 and was dubbed as backward as a child. The effects of school left me with mild mental health issues although an artistic tallent was recognised. I managed however to do a degree and still seeking a career 2:36
i am also autistic i 👏 👏 this story but i am here to tell you that not all autistic are into mathematics i myself am into carving snowmen out of wood teaching neurotypical aka normal minded people about autism in general like what not to say and what to say and how to say it and what i like and what i don't like and how to approach an autistic person and some autistic people are pattern and math thinkers i on the other hand think in pitctures and unlike me and John not all autistic are white and boys autism knows no race, gender, nor age we are born this way and it never ends "like the color wheel the autism spectrum it is many different colors it is one color its not" master yoda

I really understand this story I have part of autism, but gym and math were my favorite subject. the only different my conversion on the phone is lot worse commutation than verbal communication.
Autistic children where they learn something they stay on that path if they’re misleading, they stay on that path. They have one minded straight minded way of thinking I have a son that’s autistic. I also am autistic. They are always trying to correct themselves. Always pay attention to your inner conscience. That’s what we’ll bring you ahead. Follow your inner conscience. It will lead you the right way. Don’t listen to this world. This world is very disrupted and very twisted. God bless you.

Auti is just a word. The real meaning is extreme intelligence, artistic talent and musical ability most of them have.
I was in a similar situation with my own son only my son was three years old. I found life very hard.
Great story but what a handsome model they used for it! He should grace many magazine covers!!
