Been watching your videos for the last month now. I am now current! Haven't messed with my 3rd Gen Camaro in years it just sits in the garage lol. Got the old 350 700r4 pulled out and now cleaning the engine bay up. About to cut a access panel to change the Fuel pump in the rear hatch. Been shopping around on market place for gen 3 5.3 / 6.0 truck engine and like you said if you are new to it, its a lot to take in. I find myself coming back to your videos to answer questions i have and to understand the difference's in what im looking for Im more of a visual learner. I was just asking myself the differences in drive by cable and drive by wire and you just clear it up for me. I have used your channel to help me feel confident enough to take on this task, thanks for all the time you put in these videos man much appreciated, would be cool to have somewhere to post pictures of everyones LS swaps you helped get rolling from all this free info you have blessed us with. Keep up the good vibes and deafen yourself to the hate, for every 1 hater theres 10x more people getting use of these videos so just use that to keep it movin.
The way you speak is fine don’t let the hyper critics bother you, I appreciate your videos I’m searching for a ls now here in California to put into a 1975 Chevy blazer
I had today off and hit the pick and pull and got a cable drive throttle for my first 4.8 LS swap-- 89 Formula.. thank you for this channel it is a great resource man very helpful. Mad Max that Cudda bro .... thx again.
Followed your video. First swap I ever did car fired up on first try . Only code I got was a mass air flow sensor and that because I forgot to plug it in
Thanks for this video. My project is longer basically by my son getting his license, which is 5 years. This topic was something I wasn’t sure about, but definitely drive by cable for me. What about stock intake and throttle body upgrades Vs Holley sniper efi and carburetor manifold? Was wondering what those pros and cons are.
@@krustyclassicsgarage ok thanks for talking me off a ledge. I have a 6.0 3rd gen. Said it was an LQ9 but I haven’t taken it apart yet. But I have 317 heads and I have been stuck on trying to get 243 for like 500-900 by me. Or worse summit heads. But I should start easy and go from there.
@@westparley ya. I'd just leave the 317s and run it. They flow almost as good as 243s but have a bigger combustion chamber. You could run 706 heads and they'll bump the compression up a little bit
@@krustyclassicsgarage ok good to know. I have time, I am going to build it as I abuse the engine in there now. I am also considering going carburetor. I am going to do some price checks.
@westparley factory efi for Gen 3 engines with the cheap stuff you see me use on the channel is far cheaper than going carb now. 10 years ago, carb was the cheaper option, but not anymore unless you could find a deal on a carb intake, msd box, and carburetor.
I have a question actually! It’s about the gasket. The gen 3 DBW from TB from a truck may mount up to the ls1 and ls6 intake but the gaskets are what have me worried. LS1/6 has a different TB gasket pattern than gen 3 truck TBs. What do you do about that?
Thanks bro glad you explained all that .I'm doing a 03 gmc 5.3/4l60e into a 1983 ford ranger. I got vats deleted on the factory ecm and a swap harness for a DBW with trans controller I did keep the DBW pedal and box from the truck and was gonna put it in the ranger. Should I go ahead and continue or abandon ship and repurchase another harness, ecm,and intake (I have a Aluminum intake from Amazon with 102 throttlebody)
Hey I need help on my swap wire up my oxygen sensor 6.0 don’t know if I wire them right dbc setup and tip on installing tbss intake do I have to something different than my truck intake
Your o2 sensors are already set up in the harness. You just plug them in. TBSS intake bolts on if you have the same port on your heads as the intake is. Will probably need injector adapters depending on which harness you're using.

@@westparley unless you're trying to make crazy power. Stock stuff will work perfectly fine. Stock stuff has handled 1000hp for many years.
