The most “natural” artist-virtuoso I’ve seen since Nathan Milstein. He uses the organic resonances of his superb violin as his base for his authentic and authoritative phrasing and wide palette of colors, textures, nuances. I just love his clarity and honesty. Impeccable technique, yet at the service of the music and never to draw attention to himself. Like Milstein, Kerson Leong connects the dots on the page to weave a cohesive architecture from the very first note to the last. It’s easy to get lost and not find your way out from the complexity of this piece. This was a riveting and deeply personal account of the Ballade and it may now be my favorite. Thank you!
Thats because although it’s a very complex piece, it’s all written rather naturally from ysaye for a violinist. Technically speaking in my opinion it’s more of a challenge for the right arm.
When it comes to this piece, there’s Vengerov, and then there’s Kerson Leong. What a performance!! Impeccable technique and music expression yet so relaxed. Out of this world!!
A little piece of me dies inside when I see talent like this, and less than 16k subs, knowing the useless drivel that can get millions of likes. This makes my violinist heart happy, even more so that I’ve seen the 40 hours of practice. ;)
Use should be singed with a big company like deutsche grammophon or Sony your the number one violinist for me. Your musicality is one in a billion, and your technique is simply perfect also. We very lucky to have you👏
😱🤭😳 this is insane. I mean this is real good.. Thanks for sharing this Kerson. Just humble question that I have!🙋♀️ What is your secret in playing every note in tune..? I know this question is really basic and there is no intension to neglect your exceptional artistry beyond the instrument techniques by asking this question, but I am very, very curious about this.. I’ve been watching your videos these days (my fav one is your vlog on practicing! Also the art of etude series is phenomenal) and maybe you would answer..slow practicing..? I am looking forward to getting an answer from you! Thanks! I watched this particular one for many times now and the more I watch the more I feel you have a clear vision or mind-map of how you picture this whole piece in one organic unit. Perfect example of being so rational in structures and pacing yet so instinctive and spiritual performance! I’ve heard this piece numerous times, but your performance shed a new light on this all time favorite piece. You mentioned the mental practicing in one of your vlogs, and I clearly see that you used your own imagination as you performed and what is so marvelous to see is that your absolute control on your body. Your spirit leads the body movement, therefore the body is always subordinate to the spirit, which is the transcendent quality of musical performance.
I guess you should be Asian or prodigy to play every note in tune. But to be honest you just have to set the right base of bow technique with the right teacher in your childhood so you don't have to struggle with this in the future.
When you’re working with world class everything, violin, bow, fantastic acoustics, world class technique, things can really appear magical! A lot of double bass at the highest level is like this too, almost lagging at times even throughout speedy parts.
Excited to announce that my new album, YSAŸE, featuring all 6 of these sonatas, is now available! Links here: lnk.to/Ysaye_LeongFA

Yes sir
Similar roar like sound as milstein
That was very poetic! Thanks for you input!
You know he's good when he nails the ending section and makes it seem like your speakers are going to explode.
He plays it as if it was the most natural thing in the world. No sign of the slightest difficulty
if you practice 40hrs a day daily, won't show any difficulty playing hard pieces
He's a virtuoso

@@matthiasweiss335 I agree
bro he’s soooo good… i just…whew
His performance can be ranked in top 10 in human history
Somehow I found it difficult to think of the third sonata for solo violin by Ysaye being played in a church.
When it comes to this piece, there’s Vengerov, and then there’s Kerson Leong. What a performance!! Impeccable technique and music expression yet so relaxed. Out of this world!!
Devil in church😮😉Kerson best as always!
Your right arm is something out of this world, all the emotions and colors. Sublime!!
Very underrated style of playing
This was wonderful
That was AMAZING! Keep it up Kerson. I love all the colors you have in that right arm.
Such an honest interpretation of this piece. No doubt it is refreshing to hear it this way!!!! Thumbs up!!!!
Wow! That the most beautiful interpretation I have ever heard 😍
What to even say? This is divine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Philosophical performance! Great!
Amazing expression. Amazing musician❤
Such a masterpiece mastered by a master of violin. Truly great...
This goes way beyond the notes and technique. It's the phrasing and the emotion in every note for me 💗💞💗
This is tied with Hadelich and Vengerov for the greatest Ballade recording ever.
James Ehnes belongs in that group.
Dan Cornelius yes
They are all beautiful but different
forgot chloe chua
Chloe Chua has something to say abt that

😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
It is very easy for him to have 100 times subscribers easily and quicker, but that is an insult to his legend class.
magnifique!!!
Wow very very nive i love it.

Bravo, I never liked this piece until now.
What else have you been up to? The rode caprice series has been really helpful :-)

Just... how??
Best interpretation, better than vengerov or hahn even though i'm big fan of them.
So scary Mr. Ysäye
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
fckkkkk ur a genius ilysm
Bruh doesn't even break a sweat
ok
Contact point who? Not gonna lie that bowing kinda looked sus but I don't play so maybe I'm an idiot 💀
respect for knowing when you're an idiot lol
Ehhh the room is probably just super reverberant (making the sound strong for the contact point)
