    Good idea

Great idea. If you reverse your logic and measure behind the ute 5 meters and place the camera at the end of the pole, then you drive the ute until the camera lines up with the last post you have put in. No need for paint. It would extend out further than what you are currently doing because you lose part of the length of the ute, but you could place it on a trailer type arrangement that only needs to support the camera, this way you remove any flex in the pole extending out the back.

Hey Wayne, Love the way you think. We are/have utilised the trailer to help with our post marking when we are using the rack and posting off the trailer, so fully agree with that idea. The reason we are experimenting with the paint marker out front is that the person driving the posts can be set up and have a post on the spot before the vehicle stops, which speeds up the whole posting operation.

Is that the Power Post Driver you’ve driving with?

Hey Kyle. No, we use the Marchant Picket Post Driver with our Air Hammer Guide attached, and a few other mods.

That system does not give equal measurements from A to Z at all it only gives 5 metres for each post.

Hey Robert. Fair comment. No, this system doesn't divide the fence length into equal sections, but in the rural fencing that we do the important measurement is the distance between each post. The 'left over' is dealt with over the last 3 or 4 spaces at the end of the line.
