    • @WaltersFencing

      Not normally. The inside of the driver dolly is designed to form the top of the post inwards under hard driving conditions which means the cap actually sits on the post more easily. Normally the depth of the cap will cover the deformation of the top of the post which means there is no need to trim the tops.

    • @WaltersFencing
      @WaltersFencing Год назад

      Thanks for your interest. The netting is primarily for aesthetic reasons, in that it looks good on a house yard fence. It helps keep tennis and cricket balls in too, but we don't use it to keep rabbits out. The gates are standard 'off the shelf' with weld mesh infill. Cheers Steve

    @lazwald Год назад

    Interesting to see that you don’t use a strainer board on the netting. Are the top and bottom wire made a bit more heavy duty to allow attaching a strainer on them? Be interested in your thoughts. Cheers fellas.

    • @WaltersFencing
      @WaltersFencing Год назад

      Hi John. Thanks for commenting. The top and bottom of the Waratah rabbit netting, that we use, has 2 x 1.4mm wires that the netting pattern starts and stops on. This means that the only part of the netting you can pull without stretching the diamonds is the top and bottom wires. We don't strain the netting too tight, but just enough to take the belly (slack) out. Straining boards would work just as well, but are slower to attach and easier to overstrain. Cheers Steve

    Nice Vid, I'm a big fan of the shirts! When installing the ground cable I never cut it to final length. That wee bit spare gets coiled up neatly and cable tied out of the way. That way you've got a little spare for when (when, not if..) the switch fails/gets buggered by hapless hank or there is a need to make small changes. It means you don 't have to dig another trench for being 12cm short, and that bit you cut off (presumably) gets chucked anyway

    • @WaltersFencing
      @WaltersFencing Год назад

      Hey Robert. Fair comment. No, this system doesn't divide the fence length into equal sections, but in the rural fencing that we do the important measurement is the distance between each post. The 'left over' is dealt with over the last 3 or 4 spaces at the end of the line.
